Random Thoughts On Governor Mooseburger
Really...Has there ever been a political figure as whiny, ignorant, and delusional as the soon-to-be-former-governor of Alaska? I mean, besides George W. Bush.
David Letterman made her quit. No, wait...She's quitting to help Alaska. No, wait...it's because she can do more good outside the governor's office than she can inside. No, wait...she's quitting because her family decided it was the right thing to do. No, wait...GOD told her to quit.
This woman needs an intervention. She needs to go to On-and-on Anon. She's addicted to television cameras and the sound of her own annoying voice.
If a moose acted as erratically as Sarah Palin, the DNR would shoot it with a tranquilizer dart and bring it in for tests.
I can't for the life of me understand why anyone with more than a handful of brain cells can possibly think this creature has any business in politics, let alone any business being on television or radio. As the famous phrase goes: "There's no THERE there." She's vacant. She's lazy. She's a narcissistic twit who believes she has the intelligence, savvy, and know-how to hold a government position---despite the fact that she has repeatedly demonstrated her inability to perform the jobs she has held in government. I'm wondering why it is that people who have worked with Palin haven't had the guts to come forward and openly discuss her work ethic, her lack of ethics, and her capricious and nasty attitude toward anyone who opposes her. Todd Purdum's article in Vanity Fair was terrific, but there have to be MORE people willing to go on the record to expose her for what she is: An egomaniac without a shred of credibility.
What are people afraid of with her? Really. Can she possibly have that much power? Just asking.

Great summation of Sarah's shortcomings. Now if she would just step out of the limelight and become a distant memory, I would be happy.

You ask a good question here. What is the source of Sarah Palin’s power? My answer would be Ronald Reagan, G.H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George Bush. Reagan was a bad actor who destroyed California before he became President; G. H. W. Bush was Chauncey Gardiner who came to office just by being there; Clinton was governor of Arkansas who never delivered on a single issue that was an element of his public posture, and George Bush – a synonym for unsuitable for public office. There is a trajectory here and its arc points to a Palin like personality and every national political actor is aware of this reality, the rest being mere rhetoric for the masses. All she needs is a catchy phrase. How about “Yes she can.”
The other source of her power is that none of us is ready to accept the truth of my first answer. It is just too embarrassing to admit. It would be better to acknowledge that she is Presidential timber and consider how desperate our political circumstances are today.

I once heard Cesar - The Dog Whisperer - Millan say that Humans are the only social species which will follow a leader who is behaving irrationally. Even dogs wouldn't do it.

That would explain why Barney was always so cranky.

Agree with everything except that the Vanity Fair piece was written by Todd Purdum; not Matt Taibbi. I thought we had graduated from the Reagan/Bush illness of voting for simpletons who make people feel good about themselves because -- hey -- this person thinks just like I do!
I want someone leading the country who has the same ideals that I have, but actually is smarter than I am. I thought we got there in November. Time will tell if we stay there.

Thank you. My mistake. I read Taibbi's Rolling Stone article earlier today and his name stuck in my head. Duly corrected.
