Print Your Own Obama Signs

There is a front page post right now on dkos with people bemoaning the lack of availability of yard signs.  But you don't have to buy one someplace, you can download pdf files directly from Obama's website and print your own.  Print the sign the size you want and rubber cement it to some poster board for a window sign.  To make it waterproof for a yard sign cover it with clear contact paper that you can buy at your local hardware or drug store.  Don't wait to find a sign somewhere else - print your own today.

McCain’s Hidden Tax Increase

While too many people are focused on deceptive attack ads and stupid smears, John McCain’s plan to tax our health insurance benefits flies under the radar. Per FactCheck.org McCain wants to include employer-provided health care premiums in taxable income, essentially creating a new tax for working families. The modest tax credit McCain proposes to cover his new tax would cover less than half the average health premium, leaving workers to pick up the difference. In addition, the value of McCain’s credit will erode quickly. While health care premiums are expected to grow by 7 percent a year, McCain’s credit will increase by only about 2 percent a year. Experts say that McCain’s plan would encourage employers to eliminate health benefits for their employees, pushing workers into an unregulated private insurance market to fend for themselves.

In this economy, we can neither afford this tax increase nor to lose our health insurance benefits. Meanwhile, Barack Obama is offering 95% of American families a tax credit – calculate yours at obamataxcut.com – as well as a plan for affordable health care for everyone.   Please join me in telling everyone you know about McCain's hidden tax increase.  I find it a very persuasive argument when talking to voters.

Rush Limbaugh's Call for Race Riots in Denver

Some of you may have read that on his show today Rush Limbaugh made comments calling for riots in Denver during the Democratic National Convention this summer.

<blockquote>He said the riots would ensure a Democrat is not elected as president, and his listeners have a responsibility to make sure it happens.
"Riots in Denver, the Democrat Convention would see to it that we don't elect Democrats," Limbaugh said during Wednesday's radio broadcast. He then went on to say that's the best thing that could happen to the country.</blockquote>

I studiously avoid listening to Limbaugh but my son tunes into him as he believes in knowing what the enemy is up to.  According to my son what wasn't reported in the story is that Rush was playing "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" in the background while he made the comments.  In addition, in the Indianapolis area where my son currently resides Hillary Clinton ran at least four ads during this show.  Of course her campaign had no way of knowing that Limbaugh would make such comments but should have used more good sense as he's made plenty of outrageous statements in the past.  Coupled with her reaching out to Scaife and Fox News this really doesn't look good.

Confused About Florida Blame

I was just watching Larry King Live, where yet again all of Hillary's supporters were accusing Obama of blocking the re-vote in Florida.  I know Obama raised questions about the legality of the mail in re-vote.  However, I also read in a post today that Hillary's National Campaign Co-Chair blocked the Florida revote.  Curious about that, I looked into it.

Per Hillary's site, Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wassermann Schultz is Hillary's National Campaign Co-chair.

Per an article on CNN.com on March 18th:

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- After weeks of negotiations, the Florida Democratic Party said Monday it will not hold a second primary in the state.

"We researched every potential alternative process -- from caucuses to county conventions to mail-in elections -- but no plan could come anywhere close to being viable in Florida," said state party chairwoman Karen Thurman in an e-mail sent to Florida Democrats late Monday afternoon.

"I'm glad that the party has reached the same conclusion that was reached by the congressional delegation a week ago," said U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Florida.

A supporter of Sen. Hillary Clinton, Wasserman Schultz had staunchly opposed a re-vote.

She said she would consider a proposal that would allow the full delegation to weigh in at the convention, but she wants each delegate to have only half a vote.

Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, a supporter of Sen. Barack Obama, said Obama would like to see Florida's delegates counted in a way that would not alter the overall outcome heading into the party's convention

But, he said, Obama wants to "give Florida the opportunity to vote."

I found a lot of articles saying that Debbie Wasserman Schultz was blocking the re-votes,  including one from Governor Rendell's favorite "balanced" network:

Now I recognize you can read from these articles that Debbie Wassermann Schultz was against the mail in revote.  But how about the idea of a primary revote?

Per an AP story in the San Francisco Examiner:

Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida, has called for a new Florida primary, although he thinks the national party should pay for it. But Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz says another election would be too expensive.

And from another AP story:

"The potential of a do-over is slim to none," said Wasserman Schultz, a national co-chair of Clinton's campaign. "The cost of a do-over is beyond reach. A do-over would be unfair. We still have nerves that are very raw from the 2000 recount in Florida."

So now I am confused.  Hillary's National Campaign Co-Chair was instrumental in blocking the Florida re-vote, and we know Hillary refused a caucus in Florida, but Obama is being accused of stopping the re-vote in Florida.  I know Wolfson accused Obama of blocking the re-vote, but was that just to deflect the the criticism that is was really Hillary's campaign co-chair that blocked it?  Am I missing something here?
