Thanks for the Memories - Salute to Pedro
In a world apart from political discourse I am taking advantage of this podium....
On behalf of baseball fans who respect excellence and passion I offer verbal applause for the Red Sox pitching icon and future Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez on his return to Fenway Park. [Wed June 28 he will be there to pitch for his new team the NY Mets.]
A very articulate Red Sox fan speaks to the Fenway faithful about Pedro's return.

Note to Red Sox Nation:
1. It's triumphant
2. It's heartfelt
3. It's deservedA Note to Red Sox Brass:
1. A video tribute is in order
2. Can he receive his World Series ring again?
A Note to WEEI [local sports radio station]:
1. This is not the Johnny Damon story over again
2. If Doug Mirabelli receives a standing ovation when he returns, then Pedro should receive a ticker-tape parade
3. How about showing some class for once and have some WEEI signs printed that say on one side, "Thanks, Petey" and on the other, "Go Sox"
To All the Detractors Who Run Red Sox Websites:
1. What are you thinking?
2. Would you have booed Bobby Orr (similar situation) if he had come back to the Garden in a Black Hawks uniform?
To the Members of SoSH and Royal Rooters:
1. Spread the word - and the word is thanks[from Sons of Sam Horn, the site "dedicated to all things Red Sox"]
Who is Pedro:
He is fearless and supremely accomplished as an athlete, see this Boston Globe article. He is a totally different person outside the lines, see this NYTimes profile.
