Gay Marriage Now Legal in Iowa

Gay marriage is now officially legal in Iowa after a unanimous state Supreme Court ruling this morning. It should be a few months until this goes into effect and would take at least two years to overturn with a state constitutional amendment.

Actually goes into effect in a several weeks not months.

Court rules dictate that the decision will take about 21 days to be considered final, and a request for a rehearing could be filed within that period. That means it will be at least several weeks before gay and lesbian couples can seek marriage licenses.

Bravo Iowa!

The distinguished members of the Sioux City, Iowa, city council are pouting. They got a little uppity last month and voted against gay marriage. They forgot their jurisdiction only extends to pot holes and stop light cameras.

Nothing but a bunch of fat-headed goons with pasty white thighs.

Sioux City is the population center of the district that elected Steve King. There's a reason the airport abbreviation is SUX.

Yea!! Now let's hope the Justices in CA can get their sh*t together and make a correct decision, equal protection.
