McCain's Trojan Woman

So John McCain has picked a woman to be his running mate.  Good for him.  We need a woman in the White House.  Doesn't matter what her policy positions are, doesn't matter that she's served less than two years in office, doesn't matter that McCain is 72 years old and could very well keel over during his first term, making her the leader of the Free World.  Sarah Palin is a woman, and that's all that matters.  That's change.  The McCain campaign and the Republicans hope that Hillary's supporters will flock to the Republican side.  Never mind that Sarah Palin represents everything Hillary, Obama and Biden have fought against over the years.  Sarah Palin is a woman, and for some women that will be good enough.  For smarter women, it will be an insult, but McCain is banking on the possibility that most women are too short-sighted to see past Sarah Palin's gender.

Sarah Palin is a woman.  An inexperienced, anti-choice, gun-toting, completely unknown woman.  And picking her is a good example of the kind of choices John McCain would offer if he were elected.

Nick Ayers Makes an Interesting Point

Nick Ayers, Executive Director of the Republican Governor's Association was just interviewed on CNN.  John Roberts asked him, "How do you respond to people who will say, 'This is a woman who has been Governor for less than two years.  And yet she would be only a heartbeat away from the presidency.'  How do you address that?"  Ayers responded, "Well, let's be clear here--Sarah Palin has two years more executive experience than Barack Obama.  She has two years more executive experience than Joe Biden.  So, if the Democrats want to have that argument, that's a discussion we're very happy to have."

One tiny little problem: Palin has two years more executive experience than John McCain as well.

McCain Picks the Cutie

John McCain, in a desperate play to win over disenfranchised Clinton supporters, has picked an anti-choice former beauty queen as his running mate.  She brings with her the kind of experience we'll need if, God forbid, McCain can't serve out his first term.  Palin is the former Mayor of a town nobody has ever heard of, and now in her second year as Governor.

Palin's vagina is expected to be an important deciding factor for many of Hillary's former supporters as they now rush to jump on board the Straight Talk Express.
