John Edwards as AG?

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/05/16/edwards-flatly-rules-out-running-with-obama/

An interesting, and possibly revealing exchange this morning:

Edwards flatly said Friday, as he had before he endorsed a candidate, that he's not interested in making a second run for vice president.

"No," Edwards said in no uncertain terms on NBC's the Today show when asked about the possibility. "Won't happen.…It's just not something I am interested in."

As for another position in an Obama administration, specifically Attorney General, Edwards was decidedly more coy.

"I don't really want to get involved in that speculation," he said. "Right now we have to focus on getting Barack Obama elected to President of the United States, then we’ll worry about those things."

Obama's WV Strategy?

Until today, it appeared that the Obama campaign was planning to simply concede West Virginia without a fight.  But today, Obama gave a fairly well received speech in Charleston.

Could this be an attempt by the Obama campaign to bump up his poll numbers under the radar, so that they can claim he did better than anyone expected?  We'll see tomorrow, but I suspect their internal polling has given them reason to believe that they can limit the loss to 20 points or so.  That would be a big surprise to most in the media, and could change the discussion tomorrow, taking some of the edge off of Hillary's expected win.

I'll be very interested to see how this one plays out.

Bob Barr Announces Bad News for McCain

Former Representative Bob Barr (R, GA) just announced that he's running as a Libertarian.  This is potentially bad news for the McCain campaign, as his positions on the issues tend to be much more in line with the hillbilly core of the Republican Party.

Good luck and Godspeed, Mr. Barr.

McAuliffe Says Clinton Would Accept 50% of FL and MI

Just now on Meet the Press, Terry McAuliffe said that the Clinton campaign would accept half the delegates from Michigan and Florida.  Oops.

He then chewed off his own leg.
