Obama supporters: don't get overconfident. Hillary still has a chance to turn this thing around. This video shows how:

Since so many people seem unfamiliar with how the politics of personal destruction works, I thought I'd put up a little post on the subject.
Venomous snakes like Howard Wolfson and Geoff Garin spend all day and all night poring over newspapers, blogs, etc., looking for an item to exploit. It might be truly bizarre, like Hillary lying about being shot at by snipers in order to puff up her commander-in-chief credentials, or it might be a guilt-by-association item like Tony Rezko or Bill Clinton and Mark Penn lobbying for a Columbian trade deal that Hillary claims to oppose. It doesn't matter. It doesn't need to be a major issue. It only needs to be "spinnable" and exploitable. It needs to have the potential to raise doubt about the other candidate's honesty or viability or whatever. So when Mayhill Fowler made the fateful decision to post Obama's true but clumsily worded comment, it was like throwing a nugget of gold into a river. Downstream, these prospectors from Hell were busy sifting through the dirt, looking for anything they could use against Obama to raise doubts about him. When Mayhill's post first appeared, they all jumped into the air and shouted, "Eureka!"
The important thing to know is that you're being played for a sucker. These people don't like you, they think you're stupid and easily led, and they only want your vote. And once they have it, they're done with you.
Which is exactly what Obama was talking about when he made his comment.
