Maybe this has already been discussed and I missed it.
In my opinion, Biden's much ballyhooed remarks were very deliberate. There has been much under current over many weeks about some significant game-changer occurring just before the election. I would not be at all surprised that Biden's remarks are oriented at sensitizing the audience that part of the President's job is to deal with international incidents at any moment. And while it is in the context of post election, having the electorate thinking about it now should have them firmer in their convictions, even should such an event occur within the next two weeks. I have to think that Biden's remarks and Al Qaida's McCain endorsement are beyond coincidence. I do not believe there is anything accidental coming from Obama's campaign.
With all of the discussions in today's blogs about McCain's demeanor and the accompanying amount of ridicule, I can't help but think about my impressions from last night. For that matter, for several weeks.
He strikes me as ill, very ill.
I know this is cynical; I can't help myself. In Joe's Katie Couric interview, not only did Joe Liken Obama to Sammy Davis Jr, but he also said he "talks real pretty", which to me certainly carries forward the McPalin sleaze rhetoric. And it also feels like it all plays into a continuing undercurrent of racism that has been been seen in the McPalin campaign of fear. I wonder if Joe and Joe 6-pack will come to represent one in the same.
And it was striking that McCain's palpable anger seemed to coincide with and result from Obama's refusal to say yes sir, you are right sir, I am sorry sir, for the Lewis "offense".
Its good to see that now the RNC convention is over, Sarah McCain continue to congratulate themsleves with their recycled acceptance speeches. To paraphrase Mr. Biden, this kids isn't your daddy's Buick anymore.
