Milwauke poilce chief had affair with local right-wing journalism ethics instructor
Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn admits to having an affair with
Jessica McBride. (Or should I fully quote "prominent local journalist
Jessica McBride" for full comedic effect?)
Video on TMJ-TV.
(WTMJ is owned by Journal Communications, which also owns the conservative daily paper Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
McBride once wrote for that paper, and had a right-wing talk show on
WTMJ. To be clear, the story that was going to break in today's paper
instead "broke" on air last night... buteither way, Journal Communications profited off the folly of their right-wing hack. Ain't local media monopolies great?)
This quote on WALLAH! is stunningly clear now:
"If Jessica McBride says she wants to interview your husband for a feature story, don't leave the room."
Let's hear it for journalistic integrity!
For my primary blog's full coverage of Ms. McBride, please see my one and only previous post on the matter.
Also: Brew City Brawler has a very lengthy post on this.
Also 2: Illusory Tenant thoughtfully pointed out that McBride teaches journalistic ethics at UWM, yet she and the chief committed a Class I felony. We have to wonder if her once-mighty D.A. husband will press charges.

Right wing ethics instructor. Is there something wrong here?

OK. I have a simple-minded question: Why are people having affairs?
Is there not abundant evidence that it is just a losing situation?
Is screwing a particular person worth it?
I just don't get it. History is full of evidence that it is a pathetic way to ruin your life, so why?
Is it narcissism?
Is it ignorance?
Is it just plain old stupidity? I vote for this one!

Oh. I left out that it is completely wrong and goes against the entire precept of a person's marriage in the first place. (Left it out because I consider it obvious, but it obviously isn't!)

Ms. McBride was an ardent defender of traditional marriage. And the police chief lives apart from his wife, who's in Virginia.
Obviously, we can blame this on the Teh Gayes getting married. They all conspired and caused these people to have an affair! Obviously. Damn Teh Gayes!
(And that was sarcasm.)

Yes. It is obviously the gay's fault. OK. It isn't that obvious. Could someone come here and explain why it is the gay's fault that republicans keep on bonking everyone they see, male or female?
Just askin'

My experience tells me that people usually fear that which they are most likely to inflict on others. The some in public life are very anti-sex, especially practices or preferences that they label as deviant. Thus that is what they really want. Abstention fascination, forbidden fruit/lust. Priests...
