Sarah Palin Loves Joe the Plumber!!!

Does the headline sound like something from 3rd grade?  Well, that was the intention because it seems that is the level of discourse from the McCain campaign.  First, the Senator brings out Sarah Palin, governor of the tundra.  Sarah Palin is the epitome of the low information voter.  She's convinced herself she can govern the most powerful nation on earth without any evidence to support this assertion.  After a handful of interviews, the level of ignorance is breathtaking.  Her lack of knowledge of such basic things as the Bush Doctrine, or what it is that a Vice President does, everyday, even months into her campaign, gives this writer a migraine.

Has John McCain picked up on the exodus of Republicans?  Has he grasped the insult to their intelligence Sarah Palin exhibits ... everyday?  He evidently does not.  Enter Joe the Plumber.  "Joe" [Actually Sam] has taken to espousing opinions regarding foreign policy.  Maybe he had the time when he was not studying for his plumbing license to read a few magazine articles and now he is an expert.  Well, let's go third grade.  Expert is a compound word made up of "ex" which is a has been, and spurt, which is nothing more then a drip under pressure.  That's what comes to mind when I hear "Joe" spurting his keen insights over the national media.  It also makes sense he can;t fix the spurt because he's no plumber.  In truth, he's no politician either.  As he wonders which tool to use, he fails to realize, he's just a tool.  A shiny, new tool people gawk at that will be tossed into the box after they leave the job.

Here's some insight!  Why is it that the campaign still refers to him as "Joe", when everyone knows his name is Sam?  I think it goes hand-in-hand with a campaign that continues to lie even after that lie has been completely exposed.  Maybe they can't help it.

Sarah loves Joe because they share the same delusions.  They have not let go of the trickle down theory even after the monumental collapse of our economy.  Why can't as wanna be plumber realize that if there is a just a trickle, something's wrong with the plumbing?  They believe that taxes inhibit economic growth.  But taxes rise and fall with growth.  If the money is not there, neither are the taxes.  If the money is good, then higher taxes.  Those fortunate enough to be in these circumstances still have more money and can make more money.  Nothing prevents that, it merely slows it down while they pay their dues for living in a first world country.  Not contributing to that country's development will relegate us to a third world country, a designation we seem to be approaching. In the end, these people making more money will still strive for more money.  It's what they do.

One has to wonder, though, if John McCain met Sam the Plumber before he met Sarah Palin, would Sam be the running mate?  And if McCain loses, will it be Sarah and Sam in 2012?  From the carnage behind her, having crippled everyone who ever mentored her, we can be sure it will not be McCain next time, if they actually do lose this time.

The Repulsive Hasselbeck

Elizabeth Hasselbeck is on record as saying, "I find it completely then repulsive to then - if we want to look at spending - see how Barack Obama now is going to spend what $3 million on two thirty minute ads that are going to run this week."  Repulsive?  Really?  How inarticulate to choose this verbiage.  But this is where the "real" Americans stand, expecting us to somehow adore their honesty and cherish their keen insight.  But the truth of the matter is that this is neither honest nor insight, its reactionary anger vomitting onto the media, passed around again and again by the 24 hour news channels seeking to keep the ball moving.

If the 24 hour news media was reduced to say, 4 hours a day, maybe there would be more of a filter.  Maybe we would then have the cream rise to the top and get only meaningful information.  Instead, we are sent these meaningless events not worthy of mention.  Hasselbeck is repulsed.  Who cares?

There is a reason to care, actually.  If one considers Hasselbeck as representative of a segment of our population.  The fact that people have become so reactionary they are repulsed by a simple campaign event should be of concern.  That people are conditioned to respond physically to the action of a liberal candidate without any thought should be something noteworthy.

We are going to get a few more doses of Joe the Plumber, too.  Will someone call him out?  He states he does not want anyone to vote a certain way because he is, but then he's signed up to go on the campaign trail.  The statement is ridiculous on the face of it.  It's disturbing if he actually believes that is what he thinks when his actions are in direct conflict to that declaration.

Now this is repulsive.  Having the temerity to announce they are not taking an action while, right before your eyes, they are, in fact, taking that action.  It has become common and we have become so accustomed to hearing these bold-faced lies we no longer stop to challenge the statements.  Being told lies is something worthy of a physical reaction.
