Venom Anyone?!?

Why are we not talking about Reich Wing talk radio and Fox Noise?  We are all appalled at the latest outbursts at the Republican rallies.  But their outbursts are mimicry of the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and Shawn Hannity, to name a few.

Let's face it, John McCain and Sarah Palin are not capable of creating this frenzy out of nothing.  They merely provide a forum for people addicted to the anger management provided by the various Reich Wing Noise machines.  There are no other arenas where these people actually get to express the rage sold to them by the Reich Wing Media.  A candidate comes along and now they have a place to explode, and they do.  No surprise, but giving Mccain and Palin credit for this is a stretch.

Now, I'm not saying that their silence in the face of it is at all excusable.  Far from it.  I believe that because both of the Republican candidates are mental midgets, they did not know what to do when these fascist voices rose out of the crowds.  John McCain appeared bewildered at first, but has now find a voice.  He realizes they are playing with matches.  Sarah Palin, on the other hand, enjoys playing with matches.  She is so self-absorbed that since there is no danger to her, she feels no reason to stifle the sentiments.

John McCain is very likely going to lose this election, and there is little he can do now to prevent that, but his determination to suppress the rage in others will prevent his losing ALL of his dignity with it.

The Market and the Vote

It's always fun to toy with the idea of conspiracies.  At this point, I think I have one.  No proof of anything, but WHAT IF?!?  Read on for your own amusement and see if this raises an eyebrow.

$700 billion dollars and the market refuses to respond.  Tens of billions of dollars more and still ... nuthin'!

What if the "market", that phantom individual demon of the dollar, is seeking to influence the election?  It's perfectly clear to everyone that a bad economy pushes voters to elect Democrats.  So people, err, I mean the market, are deferring making any big moves until the election.  These people are NOT enthused with John McCain and more of the same.

Let's consider this.  The "market" has been soured by a nearly complete lack of regulation these past two Presidential terms.  We have laws, but no enforcement.  In fact, we probably have fewer laws.  So now there's all this bad paper going around the market.  Pre-Dubya, the traders could expect some degree of value in this paper.  There were standards to prevent loans being made to unqualified borrowers.  That was true until Dubya.  Now, it's buyer beware.  Lenders have made loans to people with no chance of ever making good on the debts, but by the time the loans fell apart, the paper has changed hands many times.  Who even knows who started it, and in some cases, who even knows where that paper, the documents, are?!?

The "market" realizes they have been had.  Frankly, they realize how dishonest traders can be, probably because they would do the same, and have done the same on occassion.  They are the crowd who feels if you are not caught, you did not break the law.  Laws are by definition a nuisance anyway.  But now they are disturbed that no one has been caught in years, and they realize government regulation is a necessary evil.

What recourse do they have?  Keep the market in the tank, for just a few more weeks.  Is money being lost?  Only if the companies actually fold.  If the companies survive, the stocks will rise again!  And, even though the Republicans will not advocate evolution, they certainly believe in survival of the fittest.  At the end of the day, none of them will go hungry no matter how many companies collapse.

McCain Suspends Campaign

Almost as soon as it was over, John McCain left the forum.  It was a golden opportunity to meet people and press ahead with his agenda, but he walked away.  Maybe he was unable to cope with his loss.  I'm not going to declare he lost the debate.  That's immaterial.  But he needed to generate a moment when he rose above Obama.  He needed a big hit.  He failed last night and he knew it.

It seems to me that the charge against Obama of being an elitist was completely dissipated in those last few minutes of air time after the debate.  The Obamas took the time to shake the hand of everyone there, it seemed.  They actually had their arms around people and smiled for pictures.  The people approaching them did not seem intimidated.  They seemed comfortable and calm as they asked the Obamas for a moment of their time to smile for the camera.

People absorb more information from what they see then from what they hear, and it all looked good for the Obamas last night.    It was an opportunity to smile and glad hand through the crowd.  This was a very easy crowd.  There were no baies to hold.  They came to hear the candidates talk.  They were interested.

Typically, no one loves the crowd more then a politician, but McCain actually displayed contempt for the crowd, and his campaign was closed for business almost as soon as the debate was finished.  The moment he walked away, he suspended his campaign.    He knew the debate was over as was his campaign.

The Dishonrable McCain Campaign

"Terrorist!" "Treason!"  "Kill him!"  These are the phrases comong through the microphone at the rallies for John McCain and Sarah Palin.  Reporters and camera people are being abused by the crowd.  Is there any call for restraint from the candidates?  No.  Therefore, it can now be clearly determined that John McCain is not an honorble man, nor is his counterpart, Sarah Palin.  They have displayed absolutely no inclination for leadership.

The Republicans are losing and they are desperate.  Their crowds are bitter and emotionally charged.  There are less then four weeks to go.  Can they contain these arenas from going further, going past words?  Will there be blood?  It will be a tragedy if it comes to this, but at this juncture, it could hardly be called a surprise.

Palin Reads New York Times!!!

In a speech over the weekend, Sarah Palin shared with her audience that she had actually read the New York Times.  In an article she learned somthing new.  Reportedly, Barack Obama had links with a real American terrorist, William Ayers of the Underground, a man who had been an active member of the Weathermen in the 70s.

Next day Ms. Palin gave the same speech, again referring to having read that article the same day!  It makes one wonder.

Well, I think this all confirms that whatever people were putting in front of her to read, which was apparently everything, or at least that was what she told Katie Couric in her interview two weeks ago, none of it included the news from several months ago when Hillary Clinton was hoping to make a very vague and distant relationship something that would stick to Obama and give her the nomination.

The above may seem an absurd supposition, but its either that, or Sarah Palin lied.
