Unlike many of the attendees, Joe loved journalism and practiced it waaayyy more than others. That cannot be said for the pallbearers and others who thought journalism was old and deserved to die. They, felt that tabloid gossip was more hip and had more life- so, on the condtion of anonymity (because most are affilicted with  the condition of "a lackofspineity" said the following)

It is a  sad day for many Americans, who thought that they could trust the judgement of reporters to decipher between real news (like the economic downturn, torture, wiretaps and things like that) and fake news (like sex scandals, money scandals, pigs, lipstick, houses, kindergaten letters). Sure, fake news is sexy- but that is what the last 5 minutes of evening news is for, or better yet, If we are consumed with fake news- what will Andy Rooney gripe.  about now? I guess, all is left is to turn to the esteemed Stephen Colbert from the Colbert report. Although, he reports news from his gut and not his brain- he has the decency to tell us.

  What is with everyone and their impassionate, borderline delusional, Clinton fixation. If President Elect Obama wants her to be SoS, so be it. I remember a couple of what Obama should do to win, Obama is wrong, If only Obama would... stories. Could I also, mention that Hilliary Clinton is qualified. I am a woman, and although I supported Barack in the primaries, I was concerned with all the vitriol raised at Hillary. How is that she is only judged through the prism of her tenure as first lady, she has been a senator, you know? I know they will make a great team, and just as I did on Nov 5- when I read all the Why Obama can't win, or what Obama has to do stories, I will read the same Middle East Peace achieved, Iraq war over, and Bin Laden captured stories in the next few years. I hope everyone will take a laxative or a knee (for the football fans) and let the president elect PRESIDE over his own presidency. Also, what the hell is with all why is he not hiring Dennis Kucinnich kind of person, one reason- TO GET THINGS DONE. No he has not named a flaming liberal (kucinnich) or a The Coming Dooming Conservative (Coburn). He is actually hiring people to ,gaspp, get things done. So no more, where are the liberals, latinos, blacks, asians, indians, jamacains, latvian orthodoxies, amish, STORIES.

 

Because guess what, if Obama succeeds, so do these people. He didn't run on identity politics, and he should not goern on identity politics.

Um, is it me or is this guy like the guy who can see into the future- but can't tell anybody, and so he only tries to alter it or something. If McCain would be so stupid to utter the word Ayres when the dow dropped 700 points- I think it will be more fatal than fundamentals of economy are strong

If watching the Palin Couric interview and felt for one millisecond that you might be smarter than Palin- well buddy you are an ELITIST.

I am an elitist because I learned that there are these symbols called periods and commas that help shape what elitists like myself call a sentence.

Granted, I am a grad student, albeit biomedical engineering. But the more and more and more I see of Sarah Palin, I have to conclude that........... she is the worst.candidate.ever. The Bush Doctrine, I was willing to give a pass, even the medicare medicaid entitlement program brouhaha I didn't care not so much. But this latest, foreign policy interview with Katie Couric is downright embarassing. I mean, even Katie (not the sharpest tool in the shed) looked puzzled. Yesterday's interview she did not answer one single substantial question-just reiterated talking points- Great Depression if we don't support the bailout, feel ill about supporting the bailout- No mention on how she would change except reforming it (if I hear that word one more damn time)- but the whole surge in Afghanistan thing she couldn't even BS her way out of that open air space- Good Lord. She rambled about how bin laden was a terrorist leader, protecting our freedoms, womens rights (which she wants to take away)- Either I have been too into politics this year or I think. I. Am. Smarter. Than. A. Fifth. Grader.- I mean Sarah Palin.

I think I will suspend my brain, because my cerebellum and cerebrum are starting to hurt.

A short on why I am not fretting:

1) MSM gives itself too much credit. The average voter could care less how well their candidates are like them. If you can't help me with my bills, what's the point?

2) Everyone who watched the Alaskan debate said she did well and Biden should not attack, last time I checked debates are won on truths and not sarcastic attacks. If she had to turn to the news to learn what Iraq was doing, if she doesn't understand Fannie and Freddie are/were private businesses (mind you she was reading off of a notecard), then she is doomed. There is a big diff between knowing your state and knowing your country. You might know the mayor of Junea, but what about the Prime Minister of Thailand.

3) I was watching Joe Biden's townhall, this lady said that she was a republican and not voting for Obama-Biden but she said how is possible how everyone had to go 19 months of interrogation with the American people, and her less than 2 months.

4) last but not least, people are not stupid. There is a big difference between Best Hockey Mom of the Year and Vice President- At the end of the day- that is how they will be judged.

SO CALM DOWN FOLKS- In the end the truth will come out. AND By the way, Dems registered 2 mill, repubs lost 300,000- keep this in mind.

From the mouth of rush limbaugh. I think the McCain campaign is in for a rude awakening. Women, like my mom, did not vote for Hllary because she was a babe or wore fancy earrings or pantsuit. She represented a movement of women who have faced trials and overcome them. She represented someone who worked harder than the boys by being one of them. She was not a babe, nor was she a trophy wife. She is/was a voice for all the women who had been passed over for a job or a raise, the women struggling to get by, the women whose husbands are not always faithful-the everyday woman, who thought my life may be in dissary but I can still make it. My mom referred to her as the bitch men hate, and women love.

Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton. For all of her meager accomplishments, she has one accomplishment that will make middle age hillary voters,like my mom, go crazy. She was first runner up to Miss Alaska. Not that there is anything wrong with this, but Sarah Palin represents a bitch men love, and women hate. She is the lady that skirts by through her looks, while Hillary studies, she parties, while Hillary pulls herself by her bootstraps, this lady rides in on a MAN's coattail. I honestly don't know what the McCain camp was thinking but this is beyond condescending. You are entrusting the entire nation into a woman whose only concern in her state is overgrowth of reindeers. You Senator McCain are willing to lose this country in order to win an election.
