Obama Years Off To Horrible Start
Sketchy.
That is the word that sums up the first couple weeks of the Obama Presidency. In lieu of a wordy post, I'll be concise:
1. Obama had not even been sworn in and he was already demanding over a trillion dollars from congress. Is that normal?
2. Why spend another trillion dollars of bailout money when the first trillion has yet to yield even the most diminutive results?
3. Why doesn't Obama attempt to pass tax initiatives that would entice American companies to a) stop outsourcing employment, and b) bring some employment/manufacturing back stateside? After all, when you break it down, isn't this issue at the heart of the matter with regard to the recession?
4. Why doesn't anyone seem to care that two of Obama's cabinet picks are blatantly guilty of tax fraud? Timothy Geithner, who clearly is guilty of payroll tax fraud, is now Secretary of the Treasury? Wow. And how about Tom Daschle? The guy owes $120,000 in back taxes and didn't even inform Obama until just before the inauguration. White House press secretary Robert Gibbs was asked about Daschle and his purported fraud but could only counter with, "nobody's perfect."
5. If two Bush picks were guilty of tax fraud, wouldn't there be riots in the street?
6. We're only two weeks in. This could be a long 4 years.

I'll assume this blog is a joke. You think that a country that let Bush get away with murder, torture, conspiracy, treason (see Valerie Plame) and manufacturing evidence would riot in the street if Bush appointed tax dodgers? You're an idiot.
And Geitner is not guilty of payroll tax fraud. Go to law school and then come back and talk the talk. The IMF gave him a W-2, not an I-9. They should have withheld tax.
I don't understand why Limbaugh trolls hang out on this site. Are you being paid by the post?

Uhhh . . .
Libgirl . . .
No no no ... it's no joke.
If you think this blog post was wild, think again.
Try one of his real boot-lickings of Bush from back in the grand old days.
From February 5, 2006 . . .
Although back in the day GB always stated that his POV was from the libertarian angle. But, no matter, it's so hard for the authoritarian enablers to break loose from the dark side.
Oh brother...

Libgirl - if McCain had won and his appointees had such problems, there would be a lot of people on this site screaming bloody murder. So please don't be hypocritical and get over your Bush hatred. Welcome to 2009.

Oh, PLEASE! Did anybody investigate good old Cheney's sweetheart deal no-bid contract that was written specifically so only Halliburton could qualify? Did anybody look into his company's illegal dealings with Libya when they came up?
HAVE THE CRIMINAL ASSHOLES THAT HAVE BEEN RAMPANT IN THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION BEEN BROUGHT TO TASK FOR ANYTHING? ANYTHING? I don't think so, cheesebreath.
For Christ's sake how about a little proportionality.

Did anyone see which way that school of red-herrings was heading in the pond?
Was it north, south, east or west?

It's illogical in times like these to appropriate a leader, any leader, with a blank check.
The Italians did it in 1922. The Germans did it in 1933.
After 8 years of Bush and an economy irreparably damaged through an unsustainable loss of domestic manufacturing and production, scrutiny of our leaders should be all-encompassing and non negotiable.
Instead, we are left with a nation of intellectual zombies who have so immersed themselves into the rhetorical flair of one man that objectivity is not only unattainable, it is not even desired.
Nobody has implied that Obama cannot be a good president. But he has to earn it first.
It's amazing what the Bush years did to you guys. You were so bitter, skeptical, and hate filled that you cannot see your own folly. If you simply fall in line with the current administration and refuse to hold the president to any kind of standard, then you are practicing in a disservice equal or greater to anything that GW offered.
Let me ask you a question: is there anything Obama could do that any of you would dare disagree with?
And I am a Libertarian. Through and Through. I wouldn't have voted for McCain to save my life.

Uh . . .
Has anyone ever pointed out to you the difference between a large "L" Libertarian and small "l" libertarian?
I doubt you'd understand if they did.
Now get busy finding a new authoritarian dressed in the cloth of a Libertarian (note large "L") that is right of center that you can enable.
Your schtick wore out it's welcome.... about 3 years ago.

Long time no see. Welcome back.
There is a major flap brewing over the "Buy American" provision in the stimulus bill. I'm pretty much in favor, but it cause unavoidable tension with our trading partners. But the Canadian minister that was complaining about it said it would weaken our position we we ask for lower trade barriers.
To which I say, sounds healthy for countries to protect their own industries. There is plenty of reason to have some isolation, of not only borders and passports, but of currencies and products. It would be equivalent to compartments on ships, or buffering transformers in electronic circuits, or immune system defenses in animals.
As to Daschle, OK with me if he withdraws.

Do you really believe this? If so, seek help and to get out from behind that computer terminal every once in a while as it obvious you've no grip on reality.
