Persecution Politics: Nazi Fever
One of the recent propaganda tactics of the right wing has been to appropriate the leftist language of discrimination and civil rights to argue that liberal elites are persecuting white Christian conservatives. The most extreme form of this tactic is the Nazi attack, according to which liberals are portrayed as Nazis or fascists in order to represent them as brutal oppressors of helpless conservative victims. Commentators on the right have revised history to represent fascism as a leftist movement. They have invented or exaggerated associations between Democrats and Nazis. They have belabored the slightest similarities between Nazi doctrine and liberalism. And they have darkly hinted at the possibility of a fascist revolution in America.
But perhaps I should just let them speak for themselves...

This is getting bad. These idiots and ideologues are creating a stench that will not go away no matter how many windows are opened.
They are publishing pictures of the bodies at the Dachau Concentration Camp in an attack on the health care reform bills.
Grayson is the only guy I see so far who is countering this attack with some research and some pretty good rhetoric.

Yep, and it's getting worse. I showed the video to my girlfriend before posting it, and she responded, "I didn't know that there was so much."
I think that the most appropriate adjective for this stuff, especially those Dachau photos, is simply, "shameless." And yet, very, very few on the right, even among the moderates, have had the courage or decency to express any sense of shame.

More stuff along the lines of asking Rush to get off the welfare rolls would be helpful.
Of course, Grayson's suggestion we track the vampires back to their lairs would be helpful too.

Must be one of Newt's strategies, but appropriating left-wing political terms comes off as blatant Freudian projection. Fortunately for the manipulators like Newt, the ignorati have no idea they are being run, and unfortunately for us, the obvious irony is lost on them. Beware irony-challenged gun owners.

This video you posted turns my stomach, but I'm recommending your post anyway.
How the left can be seen as Nazis -- it just blows my mind. We're the ones who want health care benefits for everyone....we're the ones who worry about our planet and environment....we're the ones who worry about unemployment and the economy....
But we're the bad guys.
It blows my fucking mind.

Hey, Rush, hey Ann - Google "Prescott Bush Nazi"
That, and is there a bigger bunch of whiny pussies in the entire history of the world than right wing talk show hosts? "Brownshirts," Rush? Really? It almost makes me wish a bunch of Obamabots would go to your studio and give you a good stomping.
