Bio

Barton Gellman is a reporter at The Washington Post and author of ANGLER: The Cheney Vice Presidency (The Penguin Press, 2008). Among his assignments have been diplomacy, the Middle East, the Pentagon, and the D.C. Superior Court. He has twice shared the Pulitzer Prize and his work has been honored with a George Polk Award, the Harvard Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting, and prizes from the Overseas Press Club, the Society of Professional Journalists, and the American Society of Newspaper Editors. Gellman graduated with highest honors from Princeton University and earned a master’s degree in politics at University College, Oxford, as a Rhodes Scholar. In addition to ANGLER, Gellman wrote Contending with Kennan: Toward a Philosophy of American Power (Greenwood Press, 1984). He lives in New York City with the writer Dafna Linzer and four children: Abigail, Michael, Lily, and Benjamin.
