Trucknutz

A suggestion:

To get a message to Washington, D.C., why don't we remove those trucknutz hanging from the rear end of our pick-ups, put them in a box with a note that says, "Grow a pair of these" and mail it to our wishy-washy Dems or even our President?

You know...kind of a visual aid thing.

Because, I'm kinda getting tired of supporting a bunch of gutless wonders that won't support me.

Those were my measly dollars I sent into the half a billion plus kitty.  I want some value for those bucks.

Oh, yeah...and the blisters on my palms I got from carrying that sign with your name on it?  They're healed over now, thanks for asking.

Can't say as much for the ringing in my ears from having the phone slammed down when I made calls on your behalf.

Not to mention all the friends I lost by declaring my intention to support you in your bid to be elected.

I want to say it was all worth it.

But, so far........I can't.

Flower,

As of this a.m. I'm still glad I supported Obama! However, while I supported Begich (only viable candidate with chance running against Ted Stevens), am becoming increasingly fearful he is fulfilling his initiation rites into the Blue Dogs!

Thanks for posting this, needed to be done!

Rec'd.

Yeah, my new senator Mark Udall-D, previously my rep in congress, has a video on his website proudly touting that he was hanging out with Senator McCain during the August recess...

Basically, I am glad to have supported the Democrats on the last ticket. But, chances are good I'll never be happy with the watered down legislation that continues to be passed, and I accept the responsibility of that unhappiness. I just wish our elected officials would accept the responsibility of responding to the basic human needs of their constituencies.

They were elected to serve an office. They were not elected Prom Royalty.

Thanks for stopping by, Auntie.

I believe in the concept that our elected officials need to do what's best for the country, instead of what they perceive is the best way to get elected. Truth is that if they don't do the former - they should never be elected!

Somehow, we have to diminish the role of politics within our government processes.

Both Dems and Repubs pander to party and engage in hypocritical flame throwing - there are no clean hands here - and for most part, that's We, The Peoples, responsibility. The government we deserve for enabling and settling for the government processes and people in place.

Love it!!!!

Mind if I spread the idea around?

I don't have any trucknutz Flower but I'd say anything goes right now.

I really keep wondering and asking what to do now? I just don't get where we go from here?

We do like all travelers, Sink, when we come to a hard place in the road. We make camp. Send out a few scouts. Collect intel. Decipher it. Then head in the direction we started out in anyway. The point is to keep on point.

If you don't know where you're going, any road will get you there. ~Lewis Carroll

But, we know where we want to go, we are on the correct road. The hard part is getting the elected ones to follow us.

Send them all to Harry Reid.

I think I may be making a mistake but I am so distrustful of main stream media, that I have come to the point that I do not believe very much of their coverage on health related issues.

Surely the issue, being SO COMPLEX cannot be boiled down to 'public option'. It really is a meaningless phrase when you think about it.

Will those who are uninsured have a place to go to get 'covered'?

Will those who are underinsured have a place to go to get 'covered'?

However the petitions cannot stop, the emails must not stop, the blogs must not stop...in their quest for justice.

Do you really think trucknutz in a box would affect their votes when lobbyist/special interest $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ already does?

Let's see. I am a bought & paid for Congressperson; this is my thought process:

trucknutz in a box/a boatload of money/trucknutz in a box/a boatload of money/trucknutz in a box/a boatload of money/trucknutz in a box/a boatload of money...

Oh, gee, it's so hard! But I think I'll go with the boatload of $$$$$$$.

Even once they get thrown out (Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich, Tom Delay) they still rake in the $$$$$$$$$$ from their repub benefactors.

Sorry to be such a downer, but it's hard not to, being in the "reality-based" world.

That said, I think a box of trucknutz would be a very fitting gift to these Dems who have forgotten why they SAID they wanted their jobs in the first place!

If Flower feels better for sending them to the Congress Critter she should do it, and maybe the Critter will reconsider for just one second, have a twinge of conscience. Who knows, it might happen when he's on the floor of Congress and something is up for a vote. It could make a difference and doing nothing will definitely make no difference.

And if John Roberts gets his way, it'll be fargin oiltankers of money.

While we talk about the need for trucknutz the Bush SCotUS is doing their very best to screw us.

Not waiting for the first Monday in October, the Supreme Court returned Wednesday for arguments in a case that could transform American politics. In its ruling, the court could reverse decades of its own decisions that have blocked corporate spending on federal candidate elections.

After this, they'll be no healthcare except for the very rich. And that is good because they are smarter and better. At what is up for debate...

Oh those very rich, yez. Well BofA says as long as we take care of them, their economy will be just fine, who needs us leetle guys?

But according to a recent report by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, we shouldn't worry: 42 percent of consumer spending before the meltdown came from the top-earning 10 percent of Americans. Not too surprising given that the top 10 percent was raking in half of total earnings.

So as long as the top continues to do relatively well, says Bank of America, their spending will revive the economy. And the top 10 percent isn't being hit nearly as badly by job losses, and their wages are doing relatively well. Plus, their wealth isn't as dependent on home values as is everyone else's. While housing prices continue to decline, the stock market has rallied. The report warns against raising taxes on the top 10 percent, lest their consuming ardor be dampened.

This logic is morally and economically indefensible.
