I felt the Republican strategy to win this weekend. We were volunteers with the San Mateo County Democratic Party and we had gotten permission from Safeway to set up a couple card tables at the edge of their parking lot over the Labor Day Weekend to ask people to to register to vote. There was a Greek Festival going on right next to the Safeway grocery store and we thought we could get a lot of people registered this weekend.

Someone complained to the Safeway CEO about us. So we couldn't continue.

I thought we lived in a country that tries to get its citizens involved in their civic duty.

Is this what Republicans think is the right thing? Repression?
