McCain Pushing Lame Secret Videotape Story
In a Miami radio interview, Mc pegs up the BS conspiracy that the LA
Times hasn't released a 2003 videotape said to depict Obama at
some dinner event for the Professor of Arab Studies at Columbia
University, Khalidi - in attendance.
Now I ask AGAIN.....
"The Los Angeles Times refuses to make that videotape public. I'm not in the business of talking about media bias but what if there was a tape with John McCain with a neo-Nazi outfit being held by some media outlet? I think the treatment of the issue would be slightly different."
Now I ask AGAIN.....
Which one of you has the "Secret Dinner Video Tape" ?
Newsmax reports that it started at the LA Times -- Then went hidden in a knapsack & transported via burro to Media Matters -- Then it was flown stashed in a purple & pink hippie flower box (with two orange bows) to The Daily Kos -- & the last confirmed movement was just a few days ago, when it was sighted inside of Madonna's stage gear 18 wheeler headed for a private showing at a San Francisco fundraiser for Prop 8.

Would you find it so amusing if Fox News were withholding a potentially damaging tape of McCain? You'd be screaming your head off demanding it be released. The existence of the tape is not in doubt, the Times admits it has it. This should make everyone uneasy about what life under Obama would be like, if the media actively works to protect him and suppress info that is damaging to him. The attack on 'Joe the Plumber' was just a precursor to an Obama nation where first (and second) amendment rights don't exist.

Cbulldog, you referred to
Are you trying to rid yourself of all credibility? If not, why are you suggesting, without any apparent sarcasm or irony, that Obama is actually opposed to the first two amendments? Just sayin'.October 29, 2008 3:44 PM | Reply | Permalink
I'm flat out saying he is opposed to the second amendment. He has voted numerous times to restrict our 2nd amendment rights. He supported the DC ban and the total ban in Chicago. He has stated in the past that all handguns should be banned. He wants to ban semi auto rifles. He voted to ban ammo. It would be hard to find someone more anti-gun than Obama, but he lies about it now. As far as the 1st amendment, it is Obama and his goons that threaten stations that air shows they don't like, or reporters that ask tough questions. They threatened to use the police in Mo. to target people 'misstating' Obama's positions. In addition press like the LAT overtly blocks release of damaging info. It is a scary scenario of press/gov't becomming one.

If I'm not mistaken, he believes that local governments, particularly cities, have the right to pass this kind of legislation. Cities regulate lots of things, like the kind of pets you can have. Some cities don't let you play loud music. Etc., etc.
All handguns? Everywhere? Could you show me where he says this?
What exactly do you want to do with a semiautomatic rifle? Should I be afraid of you?
Whoa, there. All ammo, or just a certain type, i.e. "cop killer"? And locally or everywhere? Context is everything.
I suspect that discrepancies between his position as state senator and as presidential candidate would have largely to do with the job. A mayor might want to run sex shops out of town, but that same person certainly wouldn't have a similar position as a presidential candidate.
As for your statements about Obama and his "goons," you would be more credible if you could provide some references of some kind. Personally, I haven't read anything about incidents like these. Could you post some links?

He stated he supported a ban on all handguns in a questionaire from a handgun control group. He now claims an aide answered that question, though his fingerprints were on the document. Believing that cities have the right to ban all guns does not make you a supporter of 2nd amendment rights. Could cities ban abortion? As far as semiauto rifles, I own quite a few of them, AR15's, AK47's, HK91's etc. I use them lawfully, so you do not need to fear me. He voted to ban ammo that could penetrate a police vest. That means all rifle ammo.

Thanks for elaborating! Also, if you get a chance, like I said, I'd like to know more of what you're saying regarding gov't/press ties and Obama. My sister's a hardcore Republican, and it will be nice to have read about these things already before she dumps it all on me during Christmas. She's going to give me serious shit this year about Obama.

Well, I read DailyKOS, HuffPost, TPM, in addition to the MSM outlets. If you want to get info from the right, try DrudgeReport (which links to everything), National Review Online, LittleGreenFootballs, TammyBruce, etc. I don't get all my info from one source or one side, you shouldn't either. Those sites will detail the goon squad stories.

Cbulldog, If the LA times was suppressing potentially damaging information about Obama, why did it publish a full page article on this very subject?

You can't get more out of a story than there is in it.

Publishing their summary of it does not reveal who said what and how he reacted. In their report they omitted the fact that Ayers and Dohrn were there, so they were clearly very selectively covering the event.

The GOP slime machine has been salivating like a rabid dog over the thought of finding a photo that shows Obama and Ayers together. So far, not a single photo has emerged. It's admirable that the LA Times is doing the right thing and not releasing this video to the attack dogs of the right wing.

So, it's admirable that they suppress information? If he gets elected should they continue to censor what they report to protect him?
October 29, 2008 5:02 PM | Reply | Permalink
It's not only admirable, it's the law. If the owner of the video hasn't given them the rights to broadcast it, they legally can not broadcast it.
It's the same situation as the woman who owns the rights to the McCain POW interview. She is currently filing lawsuits against the TV stations that broadcast it without permission.
Sorry to burst all of you wingnuts' bubble, but you've got nothing to back up your pathetic claims about this.

There is no law covering a tape like this. It is not copyrighted. In any event they could have released transcripts of the tape, or aired it for reporters, and they did neither. They are simply trying to supress it because it is unfavorable to Obama.

In regards to Khalidi -- the professor in question, the GOP guilt-by-association game shoves right up McCain rear end. Back in the 90's McCain as chairman of the International Republican Institute gave loads of grants over many years to the Palestinian research center founded by Khalidi, including one worth half a million dollars. But, gosh darn - the liberal media hasn't reported on this at all!! Unbelievable.

The issue here is what did he say at this event, how did he react to what others said. One report I read has claimed he said that "Israel has no God given right to occupy Palestine". If he made that quote, and it was aired, he would be in trouble. He knows it, so does the LAT, so they are not releasing it.

What about the propaganda tapes that McCain made in Vietnam? Why was he allowed to have those buried?
October 29, 2008 8:50 PM | Reply | Permalink
Because those tapes would show that John (Hero) McCain didn't just surreder to the enemy the one time when he got shot down. He surrendered 29 times with each of the propaganda films he made for the enemy. Unlike his fellow prisoners who had the strength and courage to resist.
Another thing Johnny doesn't want ya to know is when he says he was given a choice to come home but stayed with the other guys...he never says that he was ORDERED not to accept the enemies offer. If he did he would have been court martialed and his life ruined. Some choice huh.
