We could probably post here each and every day about the bile, hysteria and stupidity published at NRO. But this deserves special mention for its essential obtuseness.

Josh mentioned over at the mothership that one of the anti-abortion freakshows had circulated a predictably vicious PR following the murder of Dr. Tiller. Money quote:

George Tiller was a mass-murderer.

K-Lo saw this same PR, and figured, hey, "I need to condemn it". Because, in her words, "An evil thing has happened  - a man has been killed - and to jump to points of politics and media criticism is wrong."

Let's deal with the "media criticism" point first. Randall Terry may be an extremist maniac, but exactly where he pushes the "media criticism" button is lost on me here. Maybe there's some dog-whistle phrase in there which would explain why K-Lo yapped... but I'm not convinced. Projection seems far more plausible.

Now, regarding jumping "to points of politics". There Randall Terry is surely guilty as charged. And K-Lo? "What George Tiller did was evil" and "Randall Terry is doing exactly what CAIR does."

Okay, so people who perform abortions are evil. No politics or prejudice involved there. And yeah, regarding the "exactly what CAIR does", has CAIR ever opened a PR with - Victim X was a heathen, secular criminal, and the tragedy is that X did not find Allah before he died. I dunno, I'm not a (anti-)CAIR obsessive, but mark me down as "extremely doubtful" that CAIR has ever taken this line.

Side point on wingnut style. Ever noticed how they express themselves with the subtlety of a drunk in a bar fight? "An evil thing has happened  - a man has been killed"; what would amnesiacs and the terminally morally confused do without K-Lo?

Anyways, in the best traditions of the libruhl internets, I will try to be helpful. And encouraging.

K-Lo's piece could be logical and vaguely coherent - she just needs to change the ending. So here goes:

An evil thing has happened  - a man has been killed - and to jump to points of politics and media criticism is wrong. Evil begot more of it here.
