Saddam Hussein Caused 9/11

Yep, the Bushies are still insisting that it was Saddam Hussein in Iraq, and not Osama bin Ladin in Afghanistan, who was behind the 9/11 attacks.

From former Bush administrator press secretary Ari Fleischer's remarks on the 3/11/2009 "Hardball" with Chris Matthews:

"After September 11, having been hit once, how could we take a chance that Saddam might not strike again, and that's the threat that has been removed and I think we're all safer with that threat being removed."

Unbelievable.

I do not know how to respond to ari or rove except to rant with about three paragraphs. I did a blog on rove's wondrous 'opinion' printed in WSJ now owned by Murdoch some time ago. He was saying:

Bush Administration had 52 months of a growing economy.

No attacks have been made on this country since 9/11/01 because of policies instituted by BA

And then rove just listed five or six other fantasies and magically, of course, all these points were made by other repubs all over cable and on the web. It was like the old days when rove would fax WSJ, radio fascists, conservative blogs all the talking points.

What ari also did today was really interesting. We wrongly thought that Iraq had WMD's because Saddam lied about them.

It leaves me speechless. Then it sits in my tiny mind. Then it starts boiling. Then I am so mad,
I write something.

In another blog today, someone was noting what a good job Chris did cross examining ari. I was not that impressed but I hope the other viewers were.

I know Chris switched, sometime in 2006. He felt personally lied to by ari, rove, all of w's minions.

At any rate, good link.

I'm STILL afraid of Saddam Hussein. Especially now that he's dead. If you look in a mirror and say his name three times... horror happens.

I consider the source. Ari is not the brightest bulb on the Xmas tree and is, at best, a parody of a ventriloquist's dummy. He's also desparate for the 'face' time on the tube.

I think you are right on this. If this were a Hollywood movie, I've always kinda' thought Ari was scripted to play the not-so-bright goon in the mob. You know, the one who can't remember what the boss likes on his pastrami and rye but who can otherwise tell you where all the bodies are buried.

This guy's really creepy. He makes G. Gordon Lilly look like an introspective Buddhist, fer chrissakes. Why he continues getting air time is a puzzle, except that he provides excellent theater - sweat on the upper lip and all.

It's all the more reason we have to have an accounting of all the bs that went down in the last Administration. It would be far better for truth-enabled historians to write the book on the Bush cabal than leave it to these goons.

Ari should have been the one nicknamed "Fredo".

A&!@&%,

I really hoped that this outright baldfaced lie had dissapeared into the dustbin of history.

Unbelievable is right.

The only way to get the attention of these criminal neocon idiots is to put some of them in jail.

We must have a Special Prosecutor appointed.

Your congressman should should be calling for the appointment of a Special Prosecutor for the Bush appointees that violated Federal Laws, Treaties and the Geneva Convention on Torture.

Torture is a Federal crime with penalties of 20 years to life and the death penalty if the prisoner dies as a result of torture. It is a very serious crime. They took people off the streets and held them without charges for years.

Sign the Petition

Individuals: Sign The Petition To Prosecute those in the Bush Administration that violated Federal Laws.

Have your organization pass this url to members with a recommendation to sign.

Groups: Endorse the Joint Letter To Attorney General Holder asking him to appoint a Special Prosecutor for Bush, Cheney and appointees who approved TORTURE and violated other Federal Laws

I also noticed that comment. Matthews must not have caught it. He did pause, like he was about to pounce, but then moved on.

I'm tired of seeing Bush a-hole buddies on TV trying to brainwash us all - still. Ari, Rove, Cheney, etc., etc.

I heard that too but I thought it was just my lying eyes again. Someone should tell Mr. Fleischer that even Shrub doesn't believe it anymore.
