Unhinging entrenched socialism.
One cannot compete with a government in the pockets of centralized food and energy.
Why would government sponsor corn bio-fuels?
To bolster US farmers and keep Detroit alive as a combustion based transportation system as well as continue to employ gas stations of the Exxon type.
I keep reading the term socialism as if it were not already entrenched in the core of our economy, and it just highlights for me how little people understand about free enterprise.
It costs over 3 million dollars to move a Navy Aircraft Carrier from one pier to the one across the channel. Think about the trillions of dollars and the tens of thousands of lives that our military has sacrificed for private oil profits.
If Exxon had to provide its own security back in the 1950s, oil would have been replaced back then.
Private profits have sponsored the US government and kept their pawns in office for over a half century, and the military spinoff technologies of this energy policy have made America the largest manufacturer and deliverer of weapons of mass destruction in the history of the human species.
Our economy runs on oil taken from 3rd world countries and the weapons systems we use to take that oil. When you couple the destruction of habitats and long-term pollution of the water and soil from these activities, you can see how this economy would fall off a cliff. It was just a matter of time.
