I can't get past the session expired message and
post this comment to DickDay's Al Franken thread. I was logged in. I tried to logout and was still staring at a message
that said Hi Donal. I tried to pretend to Blog Now to get a login
screen. My session was still expired. So here it is:

You can get past it by switching to another browser. I've done that many times. It almost always happens to me after I do a blog post, I get the session expired for several hours after when I try to comment. It has something to do with how the browser reacts when you do the second log in to do the blog post. It's pretty clear that you'd have to dump your cookies to fix it. Instead, I just switch from IE to Firefox for a couple of hours after I do a blog post if I want to comment, and then when I come back to IE hours later, the problem has gone away.

I also have this problem every time I post. I solved it by having more than one TPM account. Besides being LarryH I am also DickDay, Quinn Esq, ClearThinker and Flowerchild.
Seriously, I use Firefox and on the tools menu there is an option to "clear private data." I found that I have to clear the "Cache" and "Authenticated Sessions." I do NOT have to clear "Saved Passwords" so there is not harm done other than having to re-select "login in" on several of my regular sites.
I no longer use IE (IE 8 - ugh!) so I can't help you there.
P.S. I liked the quote. Franken could be a breath of fresh air, sort of his chance to play the lead in "Trading Places."

Don't listen to these people, Donal. They're either liars or buffoons.
Or maybe in Larry's case, a bouffant.
The point is, you're doomed. Which - when you come down to it - is not a good thing to be. In the eyes of most people, being doomed is a whole lot suckier than being blessed, for instance, and perhaps even worse than frequently having a crappy day.
Why doomed, you ask? Well, if you'd stop butting in, I'd tell you. Why.... is because this means from now on, you can't re-enter a DickDay thread. Any DickDay thread. Clearly, you must have fucked with him. "Cross him DickDay at you peril," I always said. Y'ever see Lebowski? Well, it's like that. "Nobody fuck with the Jesus."
Anyway, from now on, TPM - for you - is gonna be like being at the party... but never getting any cake. Nor a birthday hat. Probably not even a lousy kazoo.

Donal, Thank you so much for keeping at it to post your quote. My computer is fritzing out on me but I was able to get on long enough to see that quote and it has made my day. Never mind that guy with the nasal tube, you keep coming back and commenting where ever you can.
