We - humans, people, us, Earthlings - created the systems that generate the inequities that devastate the less fortunate. It is up to us to remedy those systems and inequities.

I was only thinking that behind the writer of the recent blog about Apologies, was someone to love to kiss, to embrace, not as lovers, but with deep appreciation. A recognition of someone with a warm heart. Someone to draw close too.

We're all going to die, Einstein - the only meaningful questions are (1) When? and (2) How?
And since you seem particularly dense today, the beginnings of my approach are contained within the text of my original comment. Reduce/eliminate the inequities that create deprivation and righteous anger. Full solution? Of course not. Good start? Yes.
Do I have endless faith in humanity to solve its own problems in that or any other way? No, because the reality of human nature is that we are a bunch of screwups. If we can find a way to trip ourselves, we will.
Note well, though, that I have zero faith in a "deus ex machina" (or a deus ex anything, for that matter) because the very notion is so rent with contradiction as to be absurd.
If you can explain to me, clearly and directly, the reconciliation between an omniscient god and free will - four or five declarative sentences really ought to suffice - then I will take more time to address the rest of your concerns, such as they may be.
And, much as you like them, no biblical quotations allowed - I want your thoughts, not some cut-and-paste job.
Are you up to it?

Thing is, OG, the verses Resistance quoted aren't relying on deus ex - they are advocating that humans look out for each other. There's a religious justification, but still - not a bad idea.

Donal, I don't care. If he want to engage, let him not bring his bible-banging. I dismiss that out of hand. Slinging verses at me (or anyone) is a substitute for thought.
And whatever he wants to quote, we made this situation, and we can unmake it - though it would take our effort as a species, and my credulousness does not extend to thinking we will do that.
This is the stuff of classical tragedy.

No! That’s not “the meaningful question”.
I'd suggest to you "How do we really live" would be more appropriate.
Answer that; and then mankind might start to address some of the problems we all face.
Or maybe "How do YOU? Bring your life into harmony with the Divine Purpose"
Another good question, “If I did bring my Life into harmony with the DIVINE PURPOSE, would Earth’s inhabitants benefit?
I'll not guarantee I won't use scriptures. Why should I limit myself, because you object> I do not lean upon my own understanding of these complex issues? Greater minds than mine have previously pondered these issues and had the answers written down.

I find the scriptures are a Light to my footsteps. When things look darkest, the light of truth guides me towards the best course to take.
Like a lantern, a tool, I can choose to pick it up and use it, or not, that’s freewill.
If others are lost and I can light the way, is that not a solution? The light will guide our paths.
If I have the lantern and people want to go another direction, that’s their freewill.

Thanks for posting this - what an upsetting film. I see that happy little boy as his mother puts those noodles on his plate and I thank God that none in my family had to look forward to garbage to eat.
