One thought. There is something nice about being unsung. Very few people give a damn. They leave me alone.
These papers are in deep financial doo doo and they really do not know what to do. If they start going after smaller bloggers (not smaller teensy weensy bloggers like moi) then their articles and columns will risk going unsung.

Among this "controversy", the Amazon/Kindle speech synthesis dust-up, the RIAA and MPAA, the "copyfighters" who strongly oppose DRM in all its bizarre manifestations, the Creative Commons folks (take a look at BoingBoing sometime), and the outright pirates of the world, there's going to be a massive shakeout at some point in the intellectual property world. And it won't be pretty.
We're well past the point where locks have been shown to only keep out honest people, and the dissemination of information, rightly or otherwise, is now unstoppable. Sooner or later, our laws and customs will have to reflect a way of dealing with/living with this new reality. What form will it take?
