(I mean wouldn't it be nice if the Democrats could show something beyond behavior akin to frontal lobotomies and get MAD about SOMETHING? ANYTHING? The idea of living in a country for the rest of my entire life and having to endure what is now a well-established method of the right wing exhausts me. The method is HYSTERIA, as if you have not noticed. This is what they are hysterical about:

We don't mind our taxes going to corporations and banks but fire will rain from the heavens if we actually get something for our tax dollars, like health care.
Obama's health care plan includes the clubbing of little old ladies with baseball bats.

The state of political (no, this is not even political), utterly empty brain dead dialogue in America is putting right-wing circus freaks on televsion and the radio where they spew ridiculous hysterical spittle from their mouths in an effort to get the most stupid of our nation riled up?
I keep thinking this is going to stop eventually but I don't think it is. As long as media outlets offer these subhumans forums to behave like this, it will never stop. The result will be the ever lowering of the bar in this country for intelligence. ( Talk to any 23 year old and you will be able to confirm that our national education system is in fact, in deep trouble).
There is one thing I am nearly hysterical about and that is these hysterical right wing idiots may never go away. The Swift Boating of critical and important national issues will be what we get for the rest of our lives now. Or more apt, I will have to work to avoid these right wing idiots for the rest of my life. Great.

So the idea of this as the modus operandi of our media and nation exhausts and alarms me. It will never stop. For every Rush Limbaugh, there are three more and each will receive a million dollar a year contract.

National Mind Duck is also something I call the American Law of the Opposite of the Expected Logical Reaction (ALOELR for short). ALOELR is when you expect a logical outcome to a series of events but the opposite happens. It started with the stolen election of 2000 and never stopped.
"There's NO WAY those mofo's (moducks) are going to get away with this..." Remember saying this to yourself during the whole election fiasco in 2000? Well, guess what? They did.
Then there was the re-election of Bush after the first 4 years of nightmare and again, we all thought, "no way. NO WAY." Well, it happened.
Then there was Kerry and Edwards pontificating that "every vote would be counted" but by the next morning, Kerry might as well as been windsurfing and Edwards was, well, who knows but again, the OPPOSITE of what we expected to happen, happened.
At this point, incredulity is so high, there is a shock factor to take into consideration. Each time this happens, we all go into a kind of collective shock.
Then there was the election of the Democratically led Congress and 24-hours into it, Nancy Pelosi makes it clear some kind of deal was cut with the Bush Crime Family and she immediately takes impeachment off the table. This is after we all elected her and her spineless compatriots to put impeachment ON THE TABLE and end the war but ONCE AGAIN, what we expect to be the LOGICAL response to our heart-warming grass roots democracy--isn't.
Moving right along to Obama--we are still experiencing it. From pardoning the torturers who acted so illegally and brutally towards innocent human beings, to the bailout which brings me to the epiphenomenon about the Habitat for Humanity billboard. "Let me get this straight," I said to myself in the car, "we just kicked thousands of people out of their homes while simultaneously giving billions of our tax dollars to the same people who caused the whole damn mess and today they are voting to give themselves bonuses again but I just drove by a billboard for Habitat for Humanity that shows a white woman and a black guy smiling and saying something to the effect of "welcome home"...so is someone who got kicked out of their home now getting a home built for them by Habitat for Humanity which no doubt gets philanthropic funding from some of the same firms we gave bail out money to?" Do you see what I mean? It is enough to make me want to run my car off a cliff. Nothing makes sense anymore in this country. Nothing follows a logical progression anymore.
The men and women that caused the economic collapse are now IN CHARGE of THEIR OWN BAIL OUT WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS AND THIS IS SUPPORTED BY A BLACK PRESIDENT WE ELECTED WHO REPRESENTED "CHANGE"??? Would not the logical progression of this situation be to keep people in their homes somehow and fire the lame asses of the people who caused this situation but instead we force people into homelessness and give billions to the men and women who caused the entire situation and we even put them in the cabinet of the new black president who represents CHANGE?
On a local level here in California, we now find out our Governor Boobengraber is pulverizing public employees and hiring private contractors in their place during a massive "budget crisis..."

It's called National Mind F--K or ALOLR and is making our entire country go insane. The reason it is happening is in spite of protests, we are being ignored. It started in 2000 and continues to this day. It is not, as so many bloggers, pundits, writers attest that we just don't care. We do. We are being creamed. Ruined. Losing everything. You're damn right we care. But the powers that be, both Democrat and Republican, learned an extremely important lesson in 2000--IGNORE THEM. WE ARE BEING IGNORED. Ignoring citizens is legal. It is free and it is easy to do. Eventually, if you blow them off enough times, they are so beaten down, they will go away. It helps to shred their lives as welll--take their homes. Cut their pay.Give their money to creeps and call it a "stimulus plan."
I reject that Americans are being apathetic about what is happening. We are ducking angry but somewhere along the line, they all learned to ignore the hell out of us. And THIS is what is happening, not apathy.

Arnold S has been bashing state workers now for a few months and this week my friend who is a public health nurse who makes a whopping $55,000 ran into some minor hostility in her state car this week. "Megan" helps corporate health care companies find options for health care for the poor which is now all of us. She is also part of a task force to monitor cases of the Swine flu. She enjoys her job and is good at it. She likes serving the public and considers it a noble thing to do. I know, she's a loser.
This week she told me when she parked her car in a not so great neighborhood to visit a local health clinic, she was asked by a nearby white man apparently waiting for someone, "do you like your car?" "What?" she asked. "Do you like your state car?" Thinking he was asking her about it because it is a hybrid Prius, she went on about it being a comfortable vehicle and the gas mileage was pretty good but not quite up to what she would expect..... The man then lit into her how he wished he could have a Prius but he wasn't a state worker like her and he hoped she enjoyed it because he never will. Then he turned away from her and stomped down the block. Nothing like this had ever happened to her before. Ever.
Who knows why it happened but we do have a governor that is in the paper every day bashing state workers. To me it is incomprehensible that the governor of any state would intentionally create hostility between his own public servants and the public they serve. In fact, it is idiotic because the state workers SERVE the citizens so if you cut the state workers you deprive the citizens of services they paid for through their state income taxes.
So after a little too much caffeine this a.m., I called the gov office and spoke to their 13 year old "staffer" (ok maybe she was 18) and was told that Arnold S has to run this state "like any other corporation" meaning "he has to lay off his workers."
I reminded this 12 year old that a coroporation and one of the United States are not the same thing. I also reminded her that most state jobs pay BELOW the national average for state workers and they certainly pay much lower than the private sector. I reminded her many state workers bust their asses to serve their public, like my friend. I reminded her that the state workers work for ALL citizens. They do not work for profit so they are motivated to serve the public and not motivated to, I don't know, "work the system" and lie, cheat, screw people for profit, like, gosh, uhm, what just happened on, ah. Wall Street? Is this a good enough example? Or how about ENRON? Anybody remember ENRON? I think this was a corporation and gosh, what a great job they did (and those traders!) serving the public, huh?
I asked her if the Gov realized that people are tribal and stupid and if he continues to say hostile things about state workers, someone could get hurt.
The 12 year old said, "Oh Governor S would NEVER want that."
So, I guess my worry is that we are now lumping in states which are supported by public tax dollars in with corporations. We have a governor that seems to think California is one giant corporation. It is apparently not one of the United States full of HUMAN BEINGS who have paid into it for services they need and want. I know, it's just terrible that my friend, the public health nurse, isn't working for a corporation doing what she does because then she would be making a TON of money that would, of course, be paid for with TAX DOLLARS but privitization is so sweet because even though it costs the taxpayer 200-500% more, the PROFITS....man. And then the campaign funds? Wow. But no. There is no corporation yet that milks Megan for all she's worth so she can "help people." Apparently this would be the ideal situation in Arnold's warped mind.
The Republican party in this country is now addicted to two things--hysteria as in creating it, and hatred. They are moving into a realm that is creating a kind of poison in our country and our state. The question always is, why do they constantly get away with it?
]]>After considering slashing programs that aid the most needy in the state, such as the physically and mentally disabled, the poor, and children, as well as selling off state property including Cal Expo and San Quentin in addition to slashing the pay of state workers which are supposed to serve California citizens, Schwarzenegger has declared Californian citizens as "expendables" and asked citizens in the state just to kill themselves.
"I mean, c'mon. Here we are talking about da poor leetle children and stuff and cutting salaries of state workers and selling off stuff and I mean, c'mon. Lets just get to the point which is that if there were fewer Caleeforneians, it would make it alot easier to balance the budget and stuff."
Schwarzenegger is apparently negotiating a deal with the private prison industry to not only release thousands of prisoners, but to insure the most dangerous prisoners are released just in case citizens are not up to the job of expending themselves on their own.
"I mean, c'mon," Schwarzenegger said in the same interview, "we are not just releasing thousands of prisoners into da society of Caleeforneia. We are offering these prisoners an opportunity to contribute in a positive way to the state." Apparently a hotline will be set up

They have to bail us out. And if you live in California you not only get to pay for the bailout, the stimulusl bill, the foreclosures but you get to pay TWICE because your taxes are going up including taxes on your car. You know the one you need to go JOB HUNTING? Well, your registration fees may triple but it's ok. You'll need to pay THIS tax because after you walk away from the house you can't afford because your state income taxes went up about $1000/year, you'll need to live in the car as you move out of a very fucked up state that wrenches its residents around like a ball on the end of a long chain. Wee. This way then that way then this way then that way...weeee. Here we go again. But we really need to help the silly little super rich and their tendency to make rash decisions so get out there "middle class" and get on your feet! The corporate criminals need you! The bankers need you! The State of California needs you!

I just got cable a few months ago. I have never had it in my life but I "bundled" and they threw in basic cable. Up until now, I got three channels one of which was PBS. PBS was keeping me perfectly happy but the cost to get basic cable with my DSL was ridiculously low so I said what the hey. I had trepidation because before this, I did something kind of old-fashioned--I read. As the cable guy was connecting my cable, kind of incredulous this was my first time getting it at my age, I felt the sinking feeling that I was relinquishing my brain and it would in fact turn into some kind of ooze. The result of my getting "real t.v." would be I would never put a coherent sentence together again (i.e. I could turn into a kind of George Bush). I knew I would get sucked into the television vortex and indeed, now, I have my "shows" that I have to watch (and I don't even get Jon Stewart or Colbert, vis a vis, the Comedy Channel where American gets its real news). It has evolved where I knew it would go. If a friend asks me if I want to do something, I am too embarassed to ask her if we can move it up or back an hour so I can make "my show". I say something like "uhm...I might have an appointment at 8 for some work or something." "8:00? At 8 p.m.? What kind of work appointment is this?"
I am becoming one of them.
I was kind of excited initially thinking television would be something like what I remember: intelligent, creative and truly entertaining. I grew up on All in the Family, Mary Tyler Moore, The Carol Burnett Show...you know, when television meant you did not have to worry your brain was going to turn into a kind of white trash ooze?
Oh My God. Wow. What in the hell happened? As I flipped through the stations of mostly standard broadcast channels, what I saw was what I can only call White Trash Television. The creme de la creme has to be The Gladiators. Then there are the incredibly stupid "reality shows", the obsession with medical shows and dectective shows where something is always getting blown up, a woman is being raped, there is a high speed chase and a car goes off a cliff, ridiculous drama with beautiful people as if they are going to hold any plot but they have to since there IS NO PLOT. Attorneys fucking attorneys. Wow. Now there's some creative thinking. Obstacle course shows where fat people fall into tubs of jello. What in the hell happened? Television now is crap. Is this the best we can do? Is there some kind of moratorium on intelligent creativity? Then again, this could take some time, to actually think up a decent television show. Just blow up some cars, make it really melodrammatic, throw in some good cleveage, and you're good. This is all the morons watching this crap need. (The few shows I watch totally parody all these other bad television shows, like Scrubs and Reno 911.).
Well, guess what? We just got rid of a moron from the white house so you can nix your White Trash Television now? There is chance the American people in making an intelligent choice for their president are a tad brighter than you think we are? We're not all watching your shows from our trailers with the pit bulls tearing apart a rooster in the backyard. This seems to be the audience your are shooting for or are those of you with these broadcast stations too stupid yourself to even know what good television is? Maybe your brains are the ooze you impart on to the rest of us? The irony about my having basic cable is I still watch PBS most of the time because all the rest of it is so phenomenally bad. Now I am on a quest...this cannot be the best we can do in 2009 for broadcast television.
The white trash is out of the white house. In the name of the spirit of "change", can we please now get it off our broadcast television stations? As my friends say that have a billion channels, "lotsa channels, nothin' on." The election of Barak Obama by America means the light's on now television folks. Anybody home?
