Of Technology We Do Not Speak
On a topic near and dear to my heart, the McCain campaign is refusing to say "boo". ThinkProgress has the scoop. The McCain campaign completely ditched another potentially uncomfortable event, leaving the event organizers holding the bag. During the time he was supposed to appear at this debate, Douglas Holtz-Eakin appeared on an MSNBC interview.

What I'm not sure I understand here is why they would do this. Is there something controversial in tech that I haven't heard about?
I mean, I know about the dumb Blackberry remarks, which are today's equivalent of Al Gore inventing the internet. Wouldn't you think they would take the opportunity to clarify that weird rumor, attempt to quiet it some?
So confused...

I think McCain's campaign feels tech stuff doesn't matter anymore. They need big national headline grabbers at this point.
Though it IS appalling that this whole issue has barely gotten a mention during the entire campaign, other than individual technologies, or generic references.

Tech stuff doesn't matter? Probably because the whole industry is voting for Obama :-)
I just heard today that after the pro Prop-8 guys threatened California businesses, Apple came out publicly against it. Nice!
Still, the other part of this story - McCain campaign skipping out without any real notice... it shows their contempt for talking about issues in any capacity I think.
