As a member of the UMD campus, I need to clarify the story. The first round of boos while Obama was discussing personal stories with healthcare was due to a heckler which the crowd was booing. The second round of boos sounds a bit exaggerated. People were more excited that something was getting accomplished.

We voted in Maryland outside the DC Beltway. This is Obama country, but not necessarily in some of the more affluent regions. Saw two people with McCain hats on. However, I overheard several older people (50-65'ish) talking about how a vote for McCain is a waste of a vote. Another east Asian women spoke about how it was her first time voting and spoke about how it was sad that Obama's grandmother couldn't see this day. Overall, I was surprised at the turnout in a state in which the outcome has been "determined" to be well in Obama's favor.

Having lived in the Pittsburgh area for several years and bowled in a league with lots of working class locals, I can say this much... The conservatives in PA hate Hillary almost as much as they hate Obama. Greg's right, this ain't the primary, and McCain ain't gonna win a whole lotta friends with this ad.
