We Are ALL Faces In The Crowd

Better stop short than fill to the brim.

Oversharpen the blade, and the edge will soon blunt

Amass a store of gold and jade, and no one can protect it.

Claim wealth and titles, and disaster will follow

Retire when the work is done.

This is the way of heaven.

Tao Te Ching (Ch-9)

Seashell is attempting to school me in the art of blogging.

I came on the web about a year ago. Officially my full year anniversary will be in two weeks.

I had my son's old computer which he brought up here manufactured about 2002 with 33 gigs.

On September 10th of last year I found out I could get internet at my project for 20 bucks a month. I signed up with my son's old pc. Which had 33 times the power of my old pc which is now in pc heaven.

It would take five full minutes to get 'on line' and yet I would have to get rid of ten pop ups.

I would study sites like Huffpo and Daily Beast and Slate and mediamatters.com....

I would attempt to make a comment and be eschewed because my comment was too long or I did not log in correctly...I laugh now because I would swear all the time. haha. I was sooooooooo mad.

I spent hours playing pretend poker and doing crosswords. I had no sound.

I found Salon and this place sometime in November. It took me two months to figure out how to blog. Not bad when you think about it.

But you have to understand. Every single time I would leave the site, either one, I would have to re-sign-up to the post.  I mean re- enter my name and secret bat code.

Well who are you? Some computer programmer was asking.

I JUST TOLD YOU YOU IDIOT, ITS MY GODDAMNABLE BLOG (Blesses himself)

And so it went. But, hell, I was not doing anything anyway. And I have blogged incessantly about my epiphany in late November when I received something in the order of 20 comments and 7 recommendations here, and I went nuts. I had been blogging for a few weeks, and NO ONE READ MY STUFF.

And then, there it was. All these comments. Some correcting me. Some jumping right into the discussion. Hahahaha. I have never felt so good in my entire life.

Of course the next blog went nowhere. But I kept doing it. It was all to get some recognition.

Then, of course, I had been studying other people's blogs. I was reading with more interest. What have others to say? And I began to love commenting.

And then the blogger would reply to me, like I had something to say.

Oh I think of my TheraP and LisB and Bwak and Miguel. They would chime in on my posts. And I would feel sooooooooo gooooooooood.

I had my normal expressions of course. Hell, I have been alone for close to a decade. Me and the tv.  Just speaking to each other. All right, me speaking to the TV and pretending it was acknowledging my existence.

I would read other posts and people were incorporating my ridiculous expressions. And I began incorporating theirs of course.

Then I lost my only chance, I thought. My computer was crashing, all the time. And just when I thought I had found sanity....THE END.

I am lost and I am aching and I cannot find my way home. It's over before I even get started. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT-SFgkVlno

So I am off line and I am lost. I find out that LisB has contacted local hospitals to find out if I was still alive. Now, not to embarrass LisB, but she rents her little attic apartment, works forty hours a week in a cubicle and has problems just feeding her cats. And she has a lust for life. Ha. Yes she does. And she cares about someone she has never met!!!

Ha!!!!!!!

Face In The Crowd does a blog. Others do blogs. WHERE THE HELL IS DICK?

Long story short, I end up with a new pc from Seashell that she was using as a door stop. Hahahah. Of course its all fixed up and without viruses and with all new software and my name all over it. Its all legit like if I had gone down to Wallmart and purchased it.  I also get a wireless keyboard and mouse that rock. No kidding. It is amazing.

I get frustrated. Seashell will give me two hour sessions.  You know she gave me about 6 full hours one day so I could 'publish' my book.  How can you 'buy' help like that. I give her credit in some blog and she says: Oh shucks. Hahahahahahah

This is what I used to run into before I had delivered to my post office seven blocks from here Seashell's 2005 computer with new hardware and the newest software.

Sure, I finish a blog after editing it four times and TPM has the nerve to ask me to log in. Except of course, I click 'login' and I am logged in. No problemo. Less than half of second.

I reboot and I am on line in three seconds. One popup. And that is it.

I get five tabs going up top and five more when I click to the right. I get two Words tabbed on the right. I get any damn site I want. It is magic.

I get sound. This all happened in April of this year.  Oh and I forgot. In some blog I did I had explained that I have problems seeing at nite. And so I get a package soon after from TPC and it's a 19 inch screen.

Oh and I am a slow learner. I posted the best little essay I ever wrote the other day. The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys. And everything went wrong. Mostly font issues. Like Gary said, I cannot figure out what you are saying, what you are quoting......Jonnienohands writes me and tells me something is all screwed up and he is having trouble reading my damn text. It is 'cut off'.

You know what? I got so many comments on content. So many great insights. And then I realized it. These people at Café are really more interested in substance than form. Hahahahaha. How wonderful is that?

I am still learning and screwing up. But LisB just wrote about her father. LisB will do poems. She will do prose...whatever she is thinking or better yet, feeling...Hence my inspiration for this post.

I have a lot to learn and I am attempting to make sure that what I post is seen by others. Seen by others the same way I am seeing my own post. It is not easy for the lesser of us. I have given up on videos for awhile. Pictures are doing better. then I found out I am not the only one. People on IE do not see what we at firefox see.

There are issues here.

I have laid out most of these issues in prior blogs. But I write a blog every day so give me a break. It usually is all new. It's usually about today's headlines. Or a few days ago anyway..

Face in the Crowd has got some real problems. He is hurting. Nothing secret. I get this from his blogs and comments.

Face along with Seashell and Missy and so many of you saved my life.

Face has no sound.

I have music. I play it all day. It, that is the sound, has delivered me from evil. No kidding.

I have real problems, but I know Face is in pain every damn day and is going through something horrendous.

He did a blog about me that somehow lasted three days back in April of this year. He has some trick. Only used it for me.

I want him to get sound. I want him to have music if nothing else. I want him to get out of this pain and to be cured. And he noted that he is having severe money problems. We cannot cure all these problems at the Café.

But I thought if I blogged on this issue. Made it public. Got fifty comments and some rec's, I could advertise for him.

I will bet he will overcome any embarrassment and comment here.

There are people here at Café who care. I know this. I could go on and on about people here that have helped me. Hell, everytime someone takes the time to read my drivel, I am elated; I am helped.

I just thought maybe we could somehow help Face.

This was Face's comment:

2D "Sherrod Brown is black". huh...?

It is no longer surprising to me that Lush says the things he says but this is way out of left field... even for the "bulbous one".
What was his point? My speakers are down and I can't listen to the link and can not figure this out.
Surely The Bulbous One is not that stupid, is he?

This is Face's last blog

http://tpmcafe.talkingpointsmemo.com/talk/blogs/tmcpac/

I have Face in the Crowd's email somewhere. I have no authority to publish it here. If you have it email him. He is our friend. He certainly is my friend.  I would like to help him. I have no money obviously. But I can get my 'followers' to see his plight.

You know, a couple of my friends already wish to send him money. No kidding.

I would just like to see a response.

A simple gesture that tells Face In The Crowd, that we love him.

Quack! Quack!

Come on come on ... Let's get it on . . .

~OGD~

user-pic

hahahah. You always bring me hope OGD.

We need to, we really need to, pull a goddamn rabbit out of our hat. (blessed or not) ha

There would be no tpm without OGD.

Thank you.

user-pic

By the way ... DD . . .

Ya' know I was signed up as follower of yours a long time back.

I just noticed that I was not in your queue.

Hmmmmm ... gremlins I tell ya...

It's them gremlins.

~OGD~

user-pic

Oh and. . .

Good morning to you and time to go sleep in the reeds here from on left coast . . .

~OGD~

user-pic

Not in my queue. WHAT THE HELL. I shall peruse and report. hahahha

You wont believe this but LisB and some of my other close friends form the beginning, do not show up on my dash anymore.

LisB had to delete me and then resign up. We follow so many that the computer guru somehow cannot handle it.

hahahahahhaah

I shall fix the rabbit right now.

user-pic

"I shall fix the rabbit right now."

Damn. On first read I thought you wrote "I shall fix the rabid right now." And I was thinking this is my kinda guy.

user-pic

Thanks for this Dick. If anyone hears back from Face, let us know. And can we get a chipin going?

user-pic

There ya go. Obey. Another one who awakens to a world with physical problems.

Obey, you are my friend. AND I NEVER MET YOU.

hahhahaaha

What does that mean? Met ya?

We were in chat and someone was singing your praises.

I told them that you and I had scores of interplay with regard to philosophy.

What fun it is. This medium can mean so much.

Thanks Obey. Of course. EVERYONE SHALL BE INFORMED.

user-pic

Oh dick, you are my jedi-master. After the Jaynes seminar and then the Genesis seminar, what's up for this semester, if I may ask. A little Homer on Anger and Pity, say?

I'm signing up whatever it is...
;0)

user-pic

Dick,

I am quite amazed at everything that is going on behind the words on the screens, and I envy you the community you have created here. Count me in on help for Face.

I did a bit like you did - I've been retired for about six years and found myself quite isolated because my friends have always been at work, and I kept moving from job to job. No job means no friends, and I bore the socks off of anyone I meet sales clerking. Who hires a 66 year old retiree for professional jobs? So I have been reading all the history I never had time to read before. But the politics keep getting worse (Hey, I am in Texas, and when I see the politics getting worse, things are getting BAD!) and I learned about blogger.

And I can identify with the physical problems, too. I keep big Pharm in business daily, and another doctor just informed me that I have early cataracts. I plan to live long enough to need cataract surgery. My grandmother had it at age 90 - and Medicare paid for it. Just like it should do for every American - without a ton of paperwork and no copays.

I want to understand what is going on in the world, and I have found that if I start writing about it, the very process of writing forces me to understand it, even while it exposes what parts I don't yet understand. So I have about 3200 blogs posted since September 2004. Mostly politics, some economics and finance, and occasional comments on another report of an amazing scientific discovery. I don't get a lot of traffic, but I write mostly for myself anyway.

Dick, thank you for what you have been writing. I have been amazed at it. Keep it up.

user-pic

Just lemme know what you want me to do, Dickon.

user-pic

Bwak, I love you so. It is so difficult for a hermit to express feelings. no kidding.

You are attempting to survive and to tend to your child. everything you have had to face.

Always worrying about your neighbor....

Geeeeeeeeeeeez. What a real Christian you are.

We must help our brothers and sisters.

Of course. Anything I hear, I shall relay to you and yours.

You know. I gave up on humanity some time ago.

And you were one of the first to educate me.

There is hope, there is caring, there is humanity.

user-pic

(shuffles feet)

That is the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me. (hugz)

user-pic

Just send out the call - what, where, when - and it would be nice if we could get a mailing address as it were for snail mail. (not on TPM but via private email.)

I would offer mine and then forward if he was more comfortable with that, but I'm in rural Alaska, mail can take three times as long to arrive and depart as for any in the lower 48.

I have been concerned about Face. Adore him, one of the good guys.

Hope this makes sense - its 3:00 a.m. here and I'm a bit sleep deprived.

Please dd, keep me posted on this. I'm concerned.

user-pic

Of course Auntie. You are one of my closest friends here.

Yes, whatever I hear, you shall hear.

You are a good person.

So strange, to have such good friends, and never to have met them in person.

You go to sleep. I will soon again.

Those who have good intentions, who really care about their neighbors...they should sleep more soundly.

user-pic

I can't sleep. Wish I could.

I'm gonna email you now.

user-pic

Sleep?

I've posted to you a number of times at 3:00 AM or therabouts and five minutes later I have a reply.

user-pic

hahahahahaha. I still have to sleep sometime.

It must have been three or four months ago. Tom W was upset about some comment I made. He goes:

Don't you ever sleep?

i could not stop laughing.

What more can I say?

Surely TPC, you have run into the situation where my punctuation is not that strong. haahhaah

user-pic

punctuation
we dont need no steenking punctuation

user-pic

I just bought two new little speakers at a yard sale. I could send them, it couldn't cost too much, could it? I'm sure they work; i think they are Compaq. I had just gotten new ones from my hubbie for christmas. They are just waiting for someone to claim them. Someone let me know if speakers are the only problem he/she has?
Is jonnieohands male? Is stratofrog? Crikey, it's hard to know.
There are often registry problems with "no sound" issues. I spent one day last week trying to restore sound after i downloaded some new software, pissed me purple.

user-pic

Male is correct, although I sometimes feel as if I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body.

user-pic

Oh-what-a-dork-am-I! I had a girlfriend named johnnie once; so i just assumed you were a new girlfriend! There is a whole movement in Japan that celebrates, propounds, androgyny.
Thank you for correcting my misaprehension; oh no! Maybe i was HALF-RIGHT, you dear lesbian trapped in a man' body! I'm a sweet young thing trapped in an old broad's body! Or a broken-down-Amazon who walks like a drunken moose...
How about stratofrog's gender? I thought female until i knew about the music...
The fawns are out cavorting in the yard...they sure do know how to have a good time. These are twins; the same mama usually has triplets; fancy that!

user-pic

Triplets, wow. Lucky for her, only two this year. The house I had before my move to Spain always had deer and wild turkey running through. They ate everything they could find. So, I just kept planting more. Fond memories, thank you

user-pic

To get more prepared for the recession/depression, my husband put a fence around our little garden after 20 years, so the deer can't eat everything, the little F'ers. So the skunks got in; we ran some chicken wire aoround the bottom; then the squirrels got in; so we live-trapped about 32 of them and "re-located" them to the river in town. Now I'm hopin' the bears won't climb over the fence!!! They climb the fruit trees, and break the branches, sharpen their claws of the tree trunks and kill 'em...oh lawdie; what's a person to do? The coonies trash things, but they are so damned cute we pretend we don't mind. They make great night-photos. We even give them names; asshats that we are.
And you're welcome for the memories. We are so goddam fortunate to have this wondrous little reserve here; it is so real compared to so much in the outside world. Things get born, die, the seasons are so vivid...the cycles of life. There are even animal tragedies that we are unable to change. A few weeks ago, a fawn took about 2 weeks to die, and there was really nothing to do about it, except accept it; there are things we are powerless over. Yikes.

user-pic

Gender Mercies.

Actually Wendy I’m female, but somehow (according to Wikipedia) I’m only technically related to myself since the late 14th century. But I’ve enjoyed living in parallel and otherwise, playing music, etc :~)

“The word female comes from the Latin femella, the diminutive form of femina, meaning "woman," which is not actually related to the word "male." In the late 14th century, the English spelling was altered so that the word paralleled the spelling of "male."

user-pic

Well, howdoyado, femella! I am tickled my first impression was right; a new hippie girlfriend, oh boy. Thank you for the etymology of "female."

I was planning a contest soon for TPMers for a mental health break. I was gonna use a breaking cartoon occurrence, and ask people to comment, and back up their comments with music videos. I was hoping you'd consent to be the judge, though i haven't figured out a viable prize for the winner. Ya game?

user-pic

Hoooooo Girlfriend! I'd love to play
but since that word "judge" scares me,
I'll announce ahead of time that Quinn will win.
Saves arguments.

user-pic

Ha ho hee! Well, quinn, the gauntlet has been thrown down!!!
I just figured with torture and teddy and the threat of violence dominating everywhere, some utter nonsense fun might be in order. A little sqib the TPM interns put up fpr part of a day was the inspiration. It just tickled the wah-wah out of me; just pure silliness!
Think of a prize? Real or otherwise?

When this old world gets just to much to take...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34UAzKIeltk

user-pic

OK. The amateur techee in me comes to the fore. What is the operating system, is the computer new enough to have a USB connection, and what happened to the older speakers? Did they just die, or sputter, or what?

If the problem is just the speakers themselves and there is no need for more than basic adequate sound, then amazon sells some decent ones online.
Amazon. Item 7 is a pair of logitech S150 USB speakers for $11.99 with free shipping. Get me an address and I'll spring for that. I have it left over from my student loan after buying books (and I still can't afford a laptop - again.) It would cost me almost that much just to box and ship a pair of old speakers and I've always had good luck with logitech and with buying from Amazon.

email (with usual garbling) is jrichard_brewer at h0tmail dot c0m

If it's more complicated than just speakers, then I can get the symptoms and step over to the computer people at the junior college where I am taking courses and see what they can tell me. Even if I can't solve the problem with just replacement speakers we can find out how to solve it.

user-pic

Ya know, the Cafe is more and more like a real cafe. The regulars bicker and argue and yet there's not much they wouldn't do for each other. The casual passers by are welcomed to the discussions and encouraged to speak their piece. Sock puppets and asshats are dissed and made fun of until their coffee gets cold and they leave.

Between here and TPM-Aholics it's almost like I have friends ;-)

user-pic

SOCK PUPPETS. hahahahahah

That reminds me, I have to get the coffee pot runnin

user-pic

VERY GOOD COMMENTARY, LUDDITE!

Best, O.T.

user-pic

Just a few days ago I was wondering if some catastrophe had befallen face because it had been quite a while since he had posted anything. He was so instrumental in the big "Find dd a pc" caper and for him to suddenly drop off the blog rolls made me wonder if he was having computer problems or (no, no, no) he was having further health problems.

You know I am in, Mr. Day. Just point me in the general direction and tell me what to do.

user-pic

Turned into a happy ending Flower. And all these good people show up.

And I was afraid to post it in the first place. hhahaha

user-pic

I'm coming to this in the morning. It looks, from the rest of the thread, that things are well enough in hand. (If not, DD, you have my email - let me know how I can help.)

And thanks for Clapton and Winwood. Memories there, you know, good ones, and strong. (I was fortunate enough to have seen the one tour they did as Blind Faith when that song was new.)

user-pic

And Johnny Cash says he has been everywhere. hahahaha

You lucky SOB. See there are somethings nobody can ever take away.

user-pic

thoughtful post, DD. Good to look out for others, here.

user-pic

Myself. All I thought about really.

Getting out, out of self once in awhile. How is the other person doing?

Stories I read here, hell I am one lucky guy Gary.

I aint in constant pain, I aint sleepin in a friends garage, I am not worried about what food there is tomorrow or next week. ha

user-pic

I just talked to Face on the phone (a connection we established during the 'find dd a pc' caper) and he is actually OK.

The sound problem relates to his speakers and he says he has just been somewhat lazy about fixing them.

He will post a message here later assuring everyone he is OK. He is grateful for all of the caring and will let us know if he needs us to start a new caper!

user-pic

I called right after he hung up w/ shelly...now he may be afraid we're stalking him (just kidding!)

Told me the same thing he told shell! Sounded good...felt a little silly that his laziness caused a ruckus, but was genuinely pleased that we care!

user-pic

Ya know, Stilli, it's too bad that Congress and the President don't take advantage of the Cafe's power to get things done right!

user-pic

Now that gets me giggling. hahahahah

Seashell. We shall get onto health care forthwith.

user-pic

The President only has the government to work through. That isn't enough, so the profession of Social Work had to be created to intercede between people who needed things and the departments and other sources that could provide them. (Something I only just learned in class this evening.)

This would be more social work.

user-pic

I have to open up about this from a personal perspective one day.

I have one assigned to me. I call him the dead cat inspector. hahahaha

But he has helped me more than anybody over the last year (except for TPM of course) Just a regular northern guy.

user-pic

Well, ms. seashell, i just checked these little speakers, and they work fine. They require a USB port and the little ponty kind, too, like for headphones. If he/she would like them, maybe you could get the mailing address to dick, dick to me. I'm sure there will more waiting at some yard sale for me when i need them; yard sales work that way. Ya send out a thought message, and up pops what ya needed!

user-pic

Wendy, see Face's comment below. But thanks for diving right in to what may have been the newest caper in the Cafe. Obviously, you fit right in!

user-pic

Welcome. But i am just glad to know what 0-upside-down-question-mark-0 means. I was wondering who the 'ell "face in the crowd" was!

user-pic

Me, i'm still wondering
(i) what the hell an upside-down question mark means!! (is it reserved for, like, really really hard questions?)
and
(ii) how the hell you type one!!!

All answers welcome...

user-pic

Ha ha ho ho hee hee! Yur funneee obeee.

(and how the 'ell do ya type one???)

user-pic

I would like to know how to type one, many friends in Spain. Figure this out and drop me a line.

user-pic

This is going to cost you all some cheezburgers!!!

But here is the answer:

To type an inverted ?, you have to type these six characters exactly as shown to get this ¿:

¿

Thus: O¿O = O¿O

I can haz cheezburgers?¿

user-pic

You think your so damned smart.

OF COURSE YOU REALLY ARE SMART. hahahahah

user-pic

At risk of appearing totally un-cool, here goes ¿

user-pic

woooohoooo!!!!!!!!!

user-pic

I just type (option) + ?

¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿((macs rule))???????????????????¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

user-pic

OH YOU THINK YOU ARE SO SMART TOO HUH? haha

user-pic

Special character codes are done with html coding - you replace the desired character with the code. ONE of the places to find these elusive codes is at HTML - Special Entity Codes. The Spanish reversed ? code is under "other foreign characters."

¿ enjoy ¡

user-pic

thanks rowan, they have mac codes. A little tricky with no hands, but not impossible.

user-pic

O,
I am going to tell you how to do the "O¿O" but you gotta promise not to tell anyone. If you are on a PC machine hold down the alt key and hit
1 6 8 on the number keypad then release the alt key and you have the nose part! I'm guessing you can figure out the rest. Now if you have an Apple machine I ain't got a clue but somewhere it is there.
I used to tell folks to turn the keuboard upside down... you know above their heads and hit the ? button.. and I think some actually did it.
Hope it works for you If you experiment a little you can get mad face "Ò¿Ó" baffled face Ó¿Ò etc..
Have fun and promise not to tell!

user-pic

Well, this should confuse 'em. I hope you're not trying to horn in on my cheezburgers, Face!

How's this one?

o¿o

Haz reading glasses on.

user-pic

´>¿ (–––––)

(Ack!)

Also.

user-pic

Not bad!

Also.

(Wot is it?)

user-pic

An eye looking at a cheeseburger?

Maybe.

user-pic

ROTFLMAO!!

TruckNutz!!!

Buttsekks!!!

And also. Best eye looking at a cheezburger I've ever seen. Hysterical!! I see it!!

user-pic

Or this

        +¿+

Neat!

So why does the Alt 1 6 8 work like that? That's not HTML. It looks like some kind of keyboard shortcut. What is the general rule we are accessing?

user-pic

Sorry honey, but I posted it on ebay before i grokked it was a secret...the bidding's up to $37 already, and i could sure use the money. Anybody bids cheezeboogers, you get em, seashell.

user-pic

Ack!!!

Wot?

And also¿

user-pic

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

user-pic

As is my wont, apparently, your line about fitting right in has stayed with me. I guess that's what reflection is; that, and what shows up for an encore in our dreams...
I might not really fir in here altogether, but if i can carve out my own little space here and there, that will be good enough.
As dick says, i am very "forthright" in my comments; it's not always appreciated, nor is my partticular breand of humor, but, as they say: it seems to be my nature!
Love to you.

user-pic

2D,
Thanks for this... You know it is really hard to express the feelings in "type" that a response like this to my little problem... See what I mean... It is really, really hard to tell you all just how much this means to me, how much it means to know that there are folks out there that take the time to give a damn about someone they have never met. I AM FLOORED.
I have been getting calls this AM wondering how I am. At this moment I am fine. My speaker problem is one of my own doing because I haven't had the energy (or the desire) to crawl around on the floor to make sure the wires were in the right holes since I got this reconditioned HP to take the place of my old system. THAT SITUATION IS NOW CORRECTED and I can hear again.
Thanks to those that called (SS and SI) and to all those that have volunteered to "chip-in" At this point I think everything will work out ok and if not I will no be bashful about asking for assistance, I promise.
Again thanks to EVERYONE that has responded to 2D's post and to any post I have ever put up. Quite the little club we have here ain't it.
Again, THANKS Dick Day and everyone else. Just imagine what we could do if more people took the time to really give a damn.
OH... I also promise to show up and contribute more.

user-pic

Well, alrighty, then! :o)

user-pic

Flower, thanks for the phrase 'find dd a pc' caper™.   I used it liberally. :-)

user-pic

Good to hear from you Face. You had us worried there...

user-pic

There he is. My intent was not to embarrass you.

I feel better.

Oh, and that Face thing. There is ONLY ONE FACE.

You get the honor. hahahaha

user-pic

Oh, and DD - this may cause you to bless yourself. If so, no worries. If not, likewise.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98XqT4kBWT4

One of the happier days of last year was when I actually sat down and figured out this song. Now if I could only play half as well as either of them!

user-pic

Great link. I mean it was the set just before my link. I shall have to listen to this a few times.

user-pic

Wow DD. This is beautiful. You are the champion of the people. I’d be happy to help with anything. But I saw what Face said, and the others. SO GLAD he's okay. So many fine people here! So much great music!

Post physical disabilities, I found a new life too with my computer. My addition to healthcare reform would be, they should issue a computer to everyone, along with the Medicare card #:~)

user-pic

I knew you would be there for who ever needed it.

I like happy stories.

I was a little in my cups I admit and thought maybe I crossed some lines here.

I did not.

We do not have mean lines here.

hahahahaa

user-pic

I'd be happy to help Face too. Just let me know what's needed.

Thanks for this, Dickon. You rawk!

user-pic

Looks like everything is ok LisB

See ya later, I hope.

user-pic

Good! Glad to hear it. I'll be in chat shortly, just cooking up some dinner first.

Glad to hear that Face is OK. Nice little timeline of your blogging DD. I was struck by jzap's reference to a Traffic song when reading your blog, also titled after one of their songs yesterday, and while driving this morning put their disc, Mr. Fantasy in the cd player, and today the Winwood/Capaldi/Mason/Wood theme continues. Some early Winwood.

You are such a dear heart Dd. Thanks for caring so much about your fellow blogger.

Sound, music, and laughter, the sound of a friend's voice talking and laughing with you, these things can bring us healing of spirit and sometimes even some physical healing.

Face, so glad nothing's too out of sorts for you right now. Glad you have sound again.

Love you all:)

Turned into such a fun post. Just like you say Sync--and of course, just once ina while, there are happy endings.

Just had to write - although I still do not know everyone around TPM, I have certainly heard about and read Face's blogs. I want to say that this is about the greatest group of people I have ever encountered. First, soon after I joined up here, there was the amazing rally around DickDay and he was soon using a new computer and all of the works. Then the cry went out for money to send two fine people to the Single Pay effort in Washington, D.C. Now to help out another follow blogger. I am so very glad that Face is okay but it has to make everyone feel good that so many were there to help. Congratulations to a fine group of unselfish and willing people.

This post, and the comments (and play) just reinforce for me why so many times I wish I could reach through the computer screen and hug you all.

Oh but I feel it Rowan. I surely do. And so do others. AFter these comments, I have not yelled at the tv once today.

hahaha

DD, I've had the longest of long days today and I was about to turn off the computer and head for dreamland, but I thought I'd just take a minute to check out TPM.

That was 20 minutes ago. First I read your genuinely wonderful blog and then I thought I'd just skim the comments while one eye was still open.

And I'm still here, and I have nothing to say except that I LOVE this grand bunch! I'm glad Face is okay. I was about to head over to PayPal as soon as I got the word, and then Face appeared and he's not only okay he's joking and giving out secrets about how to make Faces.

Sleep well, all. I really am heading off this time. XOXOXOXOXO

IT IS WONDERFUL. I keep reading material from the nicest people.

Including you Ramona. Including you.

Just like you.

Thanks DD . . .
