Cannot we all just take five minutes and wish the other person well.

Over the last year, only one person has indicated to me that they would rather I not quote them or cite them in any of my blogs or comments.  Amazing that so many people have no self respect!!!

Yet there is one person I have quoted regularly, usually for comic relief who has never objected.

I have stated this before, but out of all the hundreds of  wonderful lines ever written on this TPMCafe Site, the one I most treasure was the one by my friend Q:

Cannot we all just take five minutes and wish the other person well.

There is so much power in this statement which at the time, I simply took as a moment of truth. I read it originally as being written out of  anger over someone else's comment. Q appeared to be unsettled over what someone else said. Nevertheless there was such a sweetness to it. Such a plea. Opened armed. Seeking no response really. It hit me hard and it was not addressed to me. So this became my Dayly Line of the Day Award for the entire year.  I will say it again for effect:

Cannot we all just take five minutes and wish the other person well.

Maybe it's the beginning of a new month. Maybe because it will be the end of my first year on the internet in a decade. But I feel a need to speak of good things. About being reborn and feeling I might have a productive time as I reach the magic age of 60.

I was so struck by the fact that Ramona, one of my favorite writers here, was QUOTED by one of my all time heroes, Bill Moyers. We have had two full blown blogs on this event by OGD and Rowan. And the response was incredible. Or I should say credible.

I was attempting to underline in my comments to both blogs that TPMCafe was being honored and I think--hell I know that Ramona would agree. Ramona represents the best of the best to me. I am crazy about her avatar. That woman with all those unnecessary clothes on as she addresses her Underwood Typewriter.

I thought that this post would incorporate my awe over the posts of Ramona and what it means for our club, but it also includes the great line by Q which I shall never forget.

ME EXCEPTED, I am asking our friends at Café, to wish someone else well.  You are forbidden at this point to discuss me. I am asking that the readers of this blog wish someone at TPMCafe well.  Someone that you truly enjoy reading. It is done all the time here.

I was going to include all my friends. And cite them one at a time but I ended up on the fifth page. And I was not half way through my thoughts. Ha

So now, I take the time to wish Josh Marshall well and thank him for what he has done for me. Providing a place where ANYONE can write what they wish, what they feel, what they are thinking.

I ask that all take five minutes to wish someone else well.

I wish so many of us well. This is hard.

But, actually, I wish David Farrar well, because he clearly is not.

Beautiful post, Dickon. For this, you win a free tape of my favorite movie.

Jai guru deva om.

user-pic

HAHAHAHAH. Oh LisB, now we will not give up on our novella. The next chapter I will not blog for 24 hours. I can always double up the next day!!!!

user-pic

You are one kind person. Cheezeburger for u!

user-pic

I'll join in on that. I wish everyone well! (that they are well, do well, stay well, and are well done - sorry about that we've had a severe heat wave for two weeks)

I appreciate this post after finding it necessary to write a less happy comment just before this. Thanks!

user-pic

G Florence, what a fine sentiment. ha.

Thank you sooooooooo very much!!!!

user-pic

Pretty nervy to make us pick just one person, dd. :-)

I'm picking PseudoCyAnts because he represents all that is good in the Cafe. Integrity, humor and generosity, just for starters. But I've known him the longest I think, so he's my pick.

[OT - are you free today, (Sunday) for a 'coming in' session and a question that I have for you?]

user-pic

Oh Seashell you make my heart glad. Pseudo is one of my favorites as are you, of course, but I have told you this many times.

OT is available I am sure. hahhahahah!!!

Seashell, once again you have hit the essence of what I am trying to communicate.

user-pic

In that case, would you please tell OT that seashell will attempt to reach Mr. Day later this evening in the ante anteroom, if he is available?

And if, by chance, she gets tied up tonight that she will try for tomorrow?

Thank you, good sir. :-)

user-pic

You are right about the problem of picking just one. I feel indebted to a number of contributors here who have stimulated, educated, entertained and otherwise filled my days with sweet humanities while down below in the valley the plague rages on.

I confess that I treasure the line on my dashboard under the heading “Following” that reads “LarryH does not follow anybody.” It is a conceit I know but I have my vanities. I will also confess that twice I have come close to sacrificing it to make Zipperupus someone I follow as a kind of personal gesture of wishing him well. It is a completely personal thing. Zipperupus seems to be a young man doing something very much like I was doing when I was young and that I would be doing much the same as he were I young today. I follow him with admiration and anticipation. He has real talents and capacities and I sincerely do wish him well.

And oh, what the hell, since I am in such an expansive mood, let me hug that big galloot from up North there. Since we’re neighbors let’s be friends. Got room? Got a potato? Name’s “Q” huh? I knew a Quigley in Australia. Any relation?

user-pic

Is Quigley the guy with that long gun which he uses to shoot people in the back of the head from far away?

Zip is a hoot!!

user-pic

Yep. He was the guy who could shoot from so far away that you were dead before you heard the report of his weapon, which of course made me immediately think of our "Q."

user-pic

That'd be cousin Chet. They call him "Long Gun," but his proper name is Chester q. Quigley.

The "q" (naturally) standing for Quiteembarrassinglywell-endowedbygodinallthingsgood,andevenmorewell-endowedbysataninthenetherregions,*cough*horsecock*cough*
ifyouknowwhatimean.

Which is apparently a Gaelic name. Quite musical when it's pronounced.

user-pic

{{{{{HUG!}}}}}

Always room at the Northern ranch.

Touch that potato though, and things could go a bit sour.

user-pic

By potato of course I meant a purely metaphorical one. I will not disturb your potato. I hear you have wonderful game fish and beef and beers and fresh produce up there. So don't let me disturb you. I will just help myself. Where is your kitchen?

user-pic

Kitchen? Oh. That'd be the pot, somewhere between the barn and the latrine.

Do give them a close look before proceeding.

user-pic

I wish all bloggers at TPM Cafe well - Please don't tell Josh but as much as I love the front page my main destination are the reader blogs, the heart and soul of news and views...

user-pic

All right Stevie, but I always check the front page to see if you are on it. ha!!

user-pic

Ditto on that, stevie! My 1st destination is the reader posts, then onto the main page if someone on my dashboard sends me there. Did I say that out loud?

user-pic

I want to thank Boyd for writing a post that drew me here. This helped me find a voice that had been stifled.

user-pic

I always read Boyd, just like I always read you!

user-pic

Yes, Deacon Day, you are drawn to me like a moth to a flame. And my other-worldly avatar is drawn as a counterpoint to my conservative surroundings.

Thanks for being such a beacon, Deacon. Bless you.

user-pic

It would be difficult for me to point to one or two or ten folks here at tpmcafe to wish well. In my travails, so many here have been supportive and reached out to me in a variety of ways. I have been overwhelmed at times by the kindness, camaraderie, and outright love of so many here.

user-pic

It is my pleasure to have met you though Rowan. Always get me to thinkin

user-pic

Pardon me for showing nepotism but I thank my daughter, LisB, for showing me so many things in the past few months. Getting me to read blogs on TPM, showing me some truths after believing lies for so long, giving me courage to blog, and for taking me into the wonderful world of the chat room where I have made so many dear friends. Thanks, Luv!

user-pic

That is so sweet Maggie. Have a fun Sunday.

user-pic

How can you even prove you're related, though?

I haven't seen any birth certificate.

She needs to have a birth certificate to be what you call a "daughter."

Your allegiant servitor,
O.T.

user-pic

My sister told me I was found on the doorstep.

user-pic

That's what I told MY sister...well really, I just told her she was adopted! She was hysterical and I got spanked! But it was worth it!

user-pic

Chin up, Cubs fan, at least it ain't like being born in goddam Panama like Mr. John "Generation Theft" McCain!

What did that unreconstructed bigot Shelby say? "You have to be born in America to be President" or some such.

user-pic

I think Maggie is LisB's screen mom, or plays LisB's mom on TV.

Either way, it's a sweet gig, especially during sweeps week.

user-pic

This is all charming enough, but what you are saying if I get the drift is that you *also* have not seen any birth certificate!

So it's getting a little more tangled I am afraid!

user-pic

I have a copy of my birth certificate...will that suffice?

user-pic

Why a copy? Why have you not to *THIS DATE* produced and original. Never`

user-pic

All I have is an announcement in one of those old meet singles papers.

user-pic

OT - you are such an instigator - I will swear under oath that I gave birth to LisB in Flushing Hospital in Queens, New York, on October 18th, 1964. She was a beautiful baby, and the prettiest in the nursery. People would exclaim how sweet looking she was and she is still as sweet. I am indeed a lucky Mom and need no proof such as a birth certificate which Lis has. The proof is in my heart...............

user-pic

Awwwwwww.....I love you, Mum!

user-pic

Oh maggie you have such a way about you!!! No wonder you have been able to hold your family together. wow

user-pic

Hey DD, it's hard just to wish one person on here well.

user-pic

Matyra, I know the feeling. But I can wish you well. I love your blogs.

user-pic

Oh dd -

I fear you have asked for the impossible. Only one? Hmmmm... Nope, can't be done....So, I'm gonna be real brave here and note I wish all well:

Maggie came to mind immediately because she so embodies the best of last year - positive change and hope!

Of course, Rowen and Obey and Gumbun - all who've had (and continue to have) health challenges yet are so caring of others! (LarryH who faught and won, giving us chuckles and brainfood amid his battle!)

Stilli who, I believe, truly leads by example with her kindness, thoughtfulness and spirit.

Ripper, who left and returned - (So glad as I really missed him!) - continues to embrace us as he perseveres and rises above the fray of life's struggles.

Barefooted, who turned her porch light on for all and I'm convinced, creates prose surpassed by none.

Wendy (wwstaebler) is the epitome of fierce graciousness and a gentle warrior who never allows us to settle for less than the truth.

Murry and his dad! Well, along with Miquelitoh, TomW, amike, jsfox and tpmgary, they show me how to write smart, funny, factual and interesting posts.

Synch, seashell, PCA and flowerchild are all uniquely wise and generous - always bringing light to our lives!

Orlando is especially astute and has a sense of veracity I envy and applaud.

Jade, whose tenacity, brevity and ability to deliver via the well written phrase always engages and challenges me.

Quinn rises above even as he delivers the knockout punch, mixed with elegant rationale and
the best snark.

OG is anything but - always sending the best turned phrase to either soothe or slap us as needed.

Astral, well - she's wise, wacky and wonderful!

Cville Dem - so good, so succinct and never disappoints!

OGD, thank goodness for this one! Our healthcare mascot and sage who keeps us on track armed with truths!

Okay, now I know not all who I value and cherish are here (I definitely suffer from CRS) so hey, please forgive and know all with good hearts are valued and applauded.

But, geez, seems like there are some I should be highlighting - hmmmmm.......

Gotcha! Of course, LisB and Bwak! (Would have put ya at the top but this is more fun!) Perhaps this pair depicts why this site is 'home' to so many - Generous, Opinionated, Smart, Caring and that's just the start of the short list!

I swear, I can hear (and feel) their heartfelt heartbeats everytime they post whether it's to rant, rave or rawk out!

And dd, as you requested, I will not wish you well - but only the best!

user-pic

This is wonderful Auntie. Its fun thinking about why we read and write here!!!

user-pic

You are far braver than I Sammy! I would DIE if I missed anyone, and since my case of CRS is much more pronounced, I am going to take the chicken way out (Yikes! No offense, Bwak!) and stick with where I started.

So, if Demosaur had not suggested that I take my initial comment made here at TPM and turn it into a post, it would have been a one shot comment and a return to my old life, not the life altering event that being here has been. Thanks, Dem!

Then on that first post, if Readytoblowagasket had not challenged me, I doubt that TPM would have gotten into my blood the way it has. I LOVED the challenge of convincing him I was who I said I was. He engaged me in a way that made me realize I had something of value to contribute. Thanks, Blow!

And then there is Missy (Barefooted.) Her then nightly invitation to come into her home and have a glass of wine and visit changed TPM from just an intellectual pursuit to camaraderie and now real friendships. Thanks, Missy.

So, these three get the credit (or blame!) for me being here!

But without ALL of you, TPM would not be what it is. I love you all for different reasons. (Well, I can't say I love you all...some of you make me feel embarrassed for being part of the same species...you know who you are!)

For those that I DO love, I love you for different reasons. Some of you are supportive and wonderful and I find it difficult to imagine life without you. Some of you are genuine pains in the butt, but you keep me thinking and refining my beliefs, and I like that, too. Some of you make me laugh, some make me cry. Some make me shake my head in disbelief, others make me proud.

Thank you all so very much for creating a space where I feel safe to be me. The real me, warts and all. I'd be lost without you...and you know who you are!

Arthur, I know you said you don't count, but you do, my dear friend, you do. I barely remember what TPM was like w/o you.

For all of you I didn't mention by name, I hope that through my comments on a daily basis you already know how much you mean to me...I'll redouble my efforts to make sure you know how much I appreciate you!

user-pic

It wasn't by any means a complete list, since I now realize that SleepinJesus and strato and HH and so many other weren't included. But, it was a quick reaction. And they are so a part of the best of us (as are others)!

Still, so glad you came, you saw and you conquered!

user-pic

Well, I can't say I love you all...some of you make me feel embarrassed for being part of the same species...you know who you are!)

I can render unto you the Dayly Line of the Day Award for this here TPMCafe Site given to all of you from all of me. Hit my funny bone anyway. hahaha

user-pic

Yippee! Another award...I think I'm going to get a special display cabinet to keep them in...Thanks, Arthur. For you, king of the words, to think something I wrote was worthwhile makes me feel great!

user-pic

Aunt Sam - how nice of you to think of me first - I have never felt so involved as I have since joining TPM Cafe and also the chat room. I miss you there - I so enjoyed chatting with you in the past. I am finding so many new ideas and thoughts in the past few months. I feel as if in some ways, at my age, I am growing up and becoming a "real" person. I love this blog - so many nice things said about so many..........DD is a dear....

user-pic

Thankee, Aunt Sam. As much as I may protest that I don't care whether anyone reads my stuff, I'm delighted when someone does read it, and finds it useful.

user-pic

Oh professor. hell. You are the favorite around here every time you post. or comment.

We talk about you in chat all the time. I guess, in my heart, I would have ended up a teacher. 4th grade or 14th grade. It would not have mattered.

You and Marq and others here get stuck on grading papers and such....

You bitch about it, but I think deep down both of you hope to find ANSWERS. ha

user-pic

I wish everyone at TPMcafé well. I hope Rowan gets better, and I hope Face is okay (any news?).

Happy first anniversary, Dick, in your ongoing love-affair with this worldly web. You make a great couple! ;0)

user-pic

Face wrote me recently and said he was working on a blog. I will see if I can contact him. Thanks for reminding me. And thank you Obey. Your comments make me laugh and your blogs make me think.

user-pic

Thanks for the update, Dick. good to hear he's still active. Got a bit worried after his health problems...

user-pic

Yah DD. 's hard to narrow down the thanks to just one blogger. So many have made me smile, laugh, and even cheer for their words. Even some who I heartily disagree with, have instilled fond regards, and even reverence. Lately I've been dealing with some personal stuff, so my own sense of humor has suffered a bit, but I can usually count on at least a few, (dozen), of us to make me smile. What a smart, funny, generous, passionate, and diverse group of writers and thinkers, who actually take the time to craft their prose, ideas, and arguments to share here for all of our edification. In short, what a community! From the brains, to the clowns, to the warriors, the gigantic hearts, and the village idiot(s), I wish you all well. But don't quote me on it, DD. Ha!

user-pic

Its a deal Miguel. I will only quote you in your own blog. Unless you say something out of the ordinary. Which is usually the case. ha!!!

user-pic

a thoughtful post.

I wish Cville Dem well. Last person I went back and forth with a little very peacefully, cordially and maturely in the comments section of a post yesterday.

user-pic

Great Gary. And I must thank you for straightening me out from time to time. ha

user-pic

DD,

If I absolutely must pick one person I want to wish Lalo well. Lalo I wish you very well.

I love you all. May you all live out your greatest dreams. That means you too DD:)

user-pic

Live out our dreams. Not a bad thought.

user-pic

My list of those I particularly value and wish well is the same list as those I follow. But there is one among them who, for me, will always be singular: Lux Umbra Dei.

user-pic

I also remember Lux, one of the first to visit my blogs. I sure appreciate you Belle. That is a fact and I hope you are having a good weekend.

user-pic

Ah, Mr. Day -- it's hard to remember that only a year ago you and your intelligence, admirably savage sense of right and innate kindness were unknown to me. Happy TPM anniversary; tis, for me, a bell(e)weather event.

user-pic

And for wordsmithing, for which I have a particular admiration and affection, it would be withholding not to mention Stratofrog.

user-pic

Too many to mention, I wish all the cafers well. I suppose I would like to single out a few that are struggling to find their place at the moment. I am thinking of Joe Wood, or Carey, or even Wendy, some of the scores of recently laid off. And of course, I wish Rowan and others a full and speedy recovery. It is for our comrades and the millions like them that most of us in Cafe care so passionately about these 'boring' political issues. That is why we return. Well that and the witty writing =)

Keep it up!

user-pic

Great people here Saladin. And I know you have a real life and space out your blogs. But you are always a good read.

user-pic

Not only kind but very thoughtful of you, Saladin. Than you.

user-pic

I wish everyone who voted in Judy Biggert's straw poll well. After falling under 43% yesterday afternoon we're back up to 65.5% for "yes" to reform. And may Judy see the light and understand just how many of her constituents have seen healthcare priced beyond their means. There's still time and if you haven't voted you can do so here:

http://judybiggert.house.gov/Default.aspx

user-pic

ah, persistence. I voted in that poll, when you first suggested it. So I accept your well wishes and say, right back at ya:)

This well wishes thing is contagious:)

user-pic

What happens when a member of the opposition throws down the gauntlet and does not get the response she predicted? This has been fun to watch.

Which reminds me, you and Sync and OGD and some others DO. I mean you see an issue and attempt to rally the troops.

Makes the virtual more three dimensional I think.

user-pic

Somebody has to do it Dick so I nominated myself. Nobody seemed to mind. ;) BTW we're up to 69.2%.

user-pic

Happy Anniversary, Dick!!

The ones I most need to wish well are the ones that sometimes get me angry, and to whom I have been a complete asshole from time to time. Off the top of my head, that would include Clearthinker, Jason, MCBill and Lalo - so I hope you're all doing well, and having a great day folks.

And then there're those who're having health and family and work struggles, and though that covers many of us, I guess I think of Rowan and Orlando and Gasket in particular.

As for the rest of you, sorry, but I see by the clock on the wall that my 5 minutes is up, and I'm all out of good wishes. Besides, there's very little chance any of you have done anything to deserve them anyway, you pajama-clad, malodorous, basement-infecting, blog-scum.

So piss off. ;-)

user-pic

I'll second that first paragraph. Hell, I'll second the second too. Not the third. Yes to the fourth.

user-pic

Yes that third paragraph was a bit much but I'll tell you something. He wouldn't talk like that for long if he lived on my cell block. We're a tight knit community here too.

user-pic

You guys DO understand that "Happy Anniversary, Dick" counts as a paragraph, don't you?

We await your apologies.

And potatoes.

user-pic

Me thinks that line to be a salutation and not a paragraph. And while I'm at it "potato" was my metaphor which I hold as my own intellectual property within the confines of this post and riposte and not to be used without permission. This started out as a friendly and pleasant Sunday chat. Let us endeavor to keep it that way in the spirit of the author.

user-pic

I thought you resided in a different type of...er...institution shall we call it?

user-pic

I admit that I am as surprised as you are that this is not in fact a University. Everyone speaks of sentences and terms and I took that to mean that it was a primarily liberal arts academy where rhetoric was a refined art, just as I would have hoped. With all the talk about degrees, first degree this and second degree that, I just naturally thought it to be a place for advanced study. Everyone talks about conviction and in my naivete I took that to refer to a passion for critical thinking. And the food, well it is exactly as I remember it in my college days of yore.

Color me in total disbelief.

user-pic

ROTFL my Tail Off.

You didn't mention roommates. Are they the quiet studious for life types? Do they have the courage of their convictions?

user-pic

I think I figured out that you do not try to do what you do. You do not really have a facade. It just amazes me sometimes. You must be the reincarnation of Arp. Ha!!1

Have a good Sunday. There is already a hint of yellow in some of the leaves on the tree outside my window.

user-pic

Not sure how I feel about being lumped in with MC Bill, though I will take being included with CT and Lalo a compliment and thanks for the shout out. I hope your Sunday is a fine one.

Having said that, I would like to wish MiddleClassBill well during my five minute.

Though we rarely agree on everything and I still wonder at his definition of "middle class" given some of his opinions about equitable and sustainable distribution of resources, I have found a willingness to keep the discussion unemotional that means we rarely descend into name calling.

Unlike some of my more liberal and excitable compatriots at TPM. :O)

user-pic

I certainly wish you well Jason, I really do mean it. You are a good read whether you are blogging or commenting. Thank you for your contributions.

user-pic

Ditto, Dead Eye Dick! (Sorry, I have been wanting to use that one for a while. If you are unfamiliar with the band, check this out.)

user-pic

Pumpkin heads in Iowa. hahahaha

Soooooooo much energy in youth. I forget sometimes.

user-pic

Everyone starts out as a pipe-smoking longhair.
This is a good premise.

I appreciate you all and wish you well!

user-pic

Frog, O Frog, O Mighty Frog.... did U 2 start out as a pipe-smoking longhair?

And if so, what triggered the transformation? What was like?

And do tadpoles dream of electric sheep?

user-pic

Yes I did, but it was the electric "Ice Weasels"
that dreamed me up, short of sleep *:~) You?

user-pic

Yeah? But how many end up as dead on poets? ha

widdledub, hahahahaha

user-pic

I wish all well - how could I not? The purpose and point of who I am today has been measured through the hourglass of TPMCafe. I thank you, I treasure you and I will always laugh out loud because of you.

user-pic

Good to see you, Missy...I've missed you!

user-pic

Pssst ... hey, Still! You're my favorite - but if you tell anyone I'll deny it. And don't listen to a word about what they say I told them ...

user-pic

Pssst, back...It's deal!

user-pic

Hey Missy, that's fine with me. Stilli is one of my favorites but soooooooooo are you. ha!!

user-pic

Missy! I've missed you, too. Please be around more. Linus "watches" for you in the middle of the nights.

user-pic

Hey seashell, I have been in chat for two hours,

user-pic

Aunt Sam put up quite a list, and I agree with much of it. I wish well those who wish others well, and I'm going to leave it at that.

user-pic
That woman with all those unnecessary clothes on as she addresses her Underwood Typewriter.

I doubt Ramona could top the style in that description, Mr. D.

user-pic

Oh thank you Curt. I just love her avatar.

user-pic

I'm new at this, and have taken a few missteps while getting started. I want to thank two people who have taught me important lessons about what blogging really means.

Fred Moolten I thank you and wish you well.
flowerchild I thank you and wish you well.

user-pic

Hey Carey you picked out two of my favorites for sure. I loved the newness of this place when I started.

And I do better when I feel that newness still.

user-pic

Carey, this is a bit of an odd place. I think the biggest prerequisites for "making it" here are thick skin, an ability to articulate your thoughts and defend your positions, coming up with compelling subject matter, and being thoughtful in your disagreements. You are doing just fine!

user-pic

hi Dick

I certainly wish you well.

By the way, how do you manage to always get your posts recommended to the top of the heap? I notice you have a lot of followers. Did you get that following just by writing good posts or did you organize a system of helping recommend each others' posts up? I am not criticizing you - I'd just like to know how it's done.

Sincerely,
CheeseMoose

user-pic

Dick sends people free cheese if they rec him up. And if you sign up 3 friends, he sends you a moose.

But with a name like yours, I'm not sure Dick's got anything to bribe you with.

You may be the first blogger powerful enough to avoid the DickDay forcefield.

Run, Cheesemoose, Run!

user-pic

Hey Moose. I would contrast me and LisB. We have the same number of followers but we follow the most people.

The contrast is that I have no life outside of this place really. LisB has a full time job. And when she is blogging she is tweeting and on the phone at the same time. I could not, on the other hand, even handle facebook.

I started here really in November of last year. I wrote and wrote and wrote and did not receive much of a response. Four or five recs and ten comments and I was soooooo pleased.

The key for me was to read as many blogs here as I could and to attempt to make some salient comment. I failed often, still do. If I scan too fast and assume things not in evidence my comment comes across stupid or at best lame.

I have had Dave Seaton, one of our best writers here, actually call me back to his blog chiding me by saying 'what the hell does that mean?' hahahaha

But you know how great it is to add something to someone else's essay.

The other thing I do is read many other 'newsy' sites a day. Huffpo, Daily Beast, Media Matters, NYT. I have dropped WSJ since murdoch took over but I still end up there through links at other sites. And of course, TPM--good news here. Quoted all over.

Oh I should add that I stay in contact with a small group of ours at the chatroom which LISB advertises all the time. I email to a few here but usually not my blog.

There is no 'conspiracy' or anything, honest.

THE END

user-pic

Wonderful post DD :)

Oh there are so so many I could not just pick one. But if I must, I would have to wish with all my heart the wellness and happiness our dear TheraP.

Her kind, gentle spirit diffuses the nastiest of exchanges, yet she has incredible determination to stand up and speak up against atrocities that should just not happen in civilized society.

Here's to you, our TheraP. I wish you and your Mr. TheraP wellness and happiness.

user-pic

Yes always was and is my favorite for many reasons.

user-pic

DickDay, you are asking the impossible. There are so many here who are so very special to me. I feel as if I've been reborn here, and I give all the credit to my friends at the TPMCafe.

I wish everybody well, but especially you, dear DD. You were the first to encourage me in this venture, and you're still giving me much more praise than I deserve.

You are one special person, and I can't even imagine the Cafe without you. This post was a great idea--as are all your posts. Keep tippy-tap-typing on that magic keyboard. Your stories get better and better.

user-pic

Oh Ramona, make my day. ha!!! STill love your avatar. I redid this five times. I did a list like Auntie Sam. Then I thought, what if I miss someone, which I would do.

Then I figured, heck, most of my friends will show up here anyway. And I was right. Most of my friends have shown up. So there ya go.

I'm all for fun, good wishes and making fun of everything and everyone. But even a no good jerk-off like me can feel that the politics of this month are REALLY crucial. I'd have more good wishes for everyone if these top-rec'd pieces were about the big issues we face. Call me the doomer party pooper. But getting by and keeping a job is getting tough. I can't just ante up a smile today.

I hear you Doomer. I happen to see real issues addressed. Personally, if I did not get off subject sometimes, I would go nuts, or more nuts I guess.

"My fellow Kalandans, welcome.
A disease has destroyed us. Beware of it.
After your long journey, I'm sorry to give you only a recorded welcome,
but we who have guarded the outpost for you
will be dead by the time you take possession of this planet.
I am the last of our advance force left alive.
Too late the physicians discovered the cause that kills us.
In creating this planet,
we have accidentally produced a deadly organism.
I have awaited the regular supply ship from home
for medical assistance, but...
I doubt now whether it will arrive in time.
I will set the outpost controls on automatic.
The computer will selectively defend
against all life-forms but our own.
My fellow Kalandans,
I, Losira...wish you well."

The supply ship she was waiting for never arrived.
The disease spread through out her people.
She's wishing the dead well.

I get Kalandans mixed up with the Kalandars. One has Decembrists and the other sieves I should think.

C you are in that group of about six that are able to put words together in ways I would not have thought would work. See, I cannot even describe it.

user-pic

Thanks DD. It just hit me when I read you post and the comments. I guess I have a bit of the taste for irony.

Comes from loosing my innocence and naivety to cynicism an disillusionment, I guess.

Bwak and LisB - Thank you for all your kindness and your friendship. Both of you are what really keeps me coming back to TPM. I love you guys. *hugs*

Hey Hey Dick Day . . .

What the hell am I suppose to say? Quack?

Although, really... I must wish, from one old pain-in-the-butt (me) to another old pain-in-the-butt Petey, where ever Petey is... a good day...

Petey was the very first Cafer to respond with a comment to a post that I placed August 30, 2005 in the old old Cafe voting queue that actually received enough votes to make it onto the public page.

I can at least partially blame Petey for helping me to continue on with my posting-compulsion these past four years.

Soooo Petey... I know you're still out there...

Have a great day!

You know OGD, I cite you all the time. You never really fool around despite your avatar. Always gooooooooooooooood research. Stuff I did not know.

Always on the right issue and the right side of the issue.

But getting back to your point, Miguel was really the first responder to me in November of last year when I found this place. I tell him this and he ignores me. hahahahahahahaha

Still love your avatar.

user-pic

Hey!

Ya' know DD ... Somehow I'd never look right in those tennis shoes what with my size triple-D webbed feet...

hahahahahaha . . .

~OGD~

You probably will not even go back to this. I was thinkin. As Miguel is so important to me. This petey. What happened to him?

OGD I remember pissing you off one nite. I was making some joke. And you were thinking about a loved one lost and I missed it.

And you forgave me. That is not the point here.

Others attempt to get the real facts, the statistics...

And I had no idea you have been here so long. And in 9 months I have seen so many come and go but nothing compared to what you have seen.

What is it that keeps people like you staying here? I mean you work on this so long. You never just come up with something. You, like a Sync for instance, will reproduce the link to a bill and then quote the important portions....

I was just thinking. Why do you never desert the ship? That's all. I just wonder why you keep on keepin on. It is important to me. I am sooooo grateful, no kidding.

No doubt ... Neoboho. I'm certain I've been driving him nuts recently. Glad he didn't stop positing ... and glad he puts up with me!

And JEM also. Nice to have another non-democrat around who generally paddles in the sea of sanity (except for that whole republican thing ;-).

user-pic

And also too TheraP.

user-pic

You no KGB, I was thinkin about him. I enjoy his stuff. he started showing up on my blogs fromm time to time. he is different and gives me issues I do not think about

on the other hand, you are nuts. which is why i never miss your blogs. hahahaha

user-pic

I wasn't trying to imply *I* am paddling in the sea of sanity. More like perched on the mountain of madness (or something).

user-pic

Well, I'm a little late to this, Mr. Day. I've had a stressed out, stretched out, shit pile of a day, but I read your post and it made me smile, so all is good again and I have just decided that at this very moment I freakin' love everybody and wish all of you well, the posters and the non-posters, the commenters and the non-commenters. Yes indeed...there is lurker love in my heart. May teeny, tiny iridescent peace signs fall from rainbow colored clouds and drop softly down on everybody who reads this and everybody who does not.

Man, am I glad I took that pill. ;o)

user-pic

Poetry Flower, pure poetry. I can only render unto you the Knightly Line of the Day Award for this here TPMCafe Site, given to all of you from all of me for this gem:

Yes indeed...there is lurker love in my heart. May teeny, tiny iridescent peace signs fall from rainbow colored clouds and drop softly down on everybody who reads this and everybody who does not.

I am taking this to the chatroom right now.

Migwetch for the Knightly Line of the Day Award, dd. Something more to smile about. :o)

Here's something else to smile about, Flower -- the black-eyed susans are in bloom:

user-pic

Oh, Wendy! They're gorgeous! Mr. Smith, who was quite particular, as cats are won't to be, would undoubtedly approve of this homage to his superb catuosity and deem the display of black-eyed susans as proper.

And, I thank you as well, Ms. Staebler. Yer a nice lady.

user-pic

Hey Belle. I just linked this. Great pictures. Funny cause I have losin my religion playin.
