NO PARDONS FOR THE WICKED
WITHOUT A CLUE
w will be interviewed on ABC tonight by Charley Gibson.
The title for the ABC interview with Charley G tonight is "I did not compromise my principles"
and it is prerecorded which is why ABC's Blog reports what will be said in that interview.
With regard to Iraq w states:
"'I think I was unprepared for war,' Bush told ABC News' Charlie Gibson in an interview airing today on 'World News.'
'In other words, I didn't campaign and say, 'Please vote for me, I'll be able to handle an attack,' he said. "'In other words, I didn't anticipate war. Presidents -- one of the things about the modern presidency is that the unexpected will happen'." (ABCBlOG)
You can only conclude that w is saying we were attacked on 9/11/01 and that is why we went into Iraq. There is no other way to read this.
This has bothered me for at least five years. Wild Bill has reported that w, on the day of his inauguration told him "I'm going into Iraq." Fine, no recording, simply deny. Bill's a goddamn liar, anyway. Its over.
But within two weeks of the inauguration, Paul O'Neill, w's first Treasury Secretary stated that at the very first National Security Council meeting, w said: 'We're going into Iraq. Find a way." What really upsets me about O'Neill is that he was gone by 2002 and appeared on every cable show (and even with Letterman &Leno ) and reported what w said more than 7 months before 9/11/01--and the electorate re-elected the SOB anyway in 2004.
Of course in 2004, half the nation believed that Sadaam had something to do with 9/11.
Do you know that a reporter quoted w in 1999 that if he became president, one of the first things he would do is invade Iraq.
Finally, on 9/12/01, Rummy , while surveying the damage at the Pentagon said to an aide: "Well, I guess he found a way."
But that is not the purpose of my post. You can read all three books by Ron Suskind, the last book on the w administration by Woodward, and even Franken's three books and you can list the lies one at a time that w has uttered. Wonderful Media we have, huh? Cable, except for Keith and now Rachel, will not report: "The President lied again today when he told reporters...."
If you ask, I can give you titles to at least fifteen books that document the lying in w's administration. It is kind of fun, actually. I would visit the local library once a week, and took out, among other reads, one book on the w Administration. I must have read 30 or 40 of them.
Yet, with all the evidence of premeditation with regard to Iraq, w maintains that he did not anticipate the war in Iraq and everything was a total surprise to him.
He is starting to convince me.
"'A lot of people put their reputations on the line and said the weapons of mass destruction is a reason to remove Saddam Hussein,' Bush said. 'It wasn't just people in my administration. A lot of members in Congress, prior to my arrival in Washington, D.C., during the debate on Iraq, a lot of leaders of nations around the world were all looking at the same intelligence.
'I wish the intelligence had been different, I guess,' Bush added.
When pressed by Gibson, Bush declined to 'speculate'on whether he would still have gone to war if he knew Hussein didn't have weapons of mass destruction.
'That is a do-over that I can't do,' Bush said.
Despite failed intelligence and accusations of mismanaging the war, Bush said his decision not to prematurely withdraw troops from Iraq was grounded in his values.
'I listened to a lot of voices, but ultimately, I listened to this voice: I'm not going to let your son die in vain,' he said. 'I believe we can win. I'm going to do what it takes to win in Iraq.'"
(ABCBLOG)
I think w has convinced himself of this crap. Here is my favorite line via ABC:
"President Bush tells ABC News' Charlie Gibson that he stayed true to his principles and values throughout his presidency."
Now I really believe this statement, but would file it under "IRONY."
Dowd and Franken and Suskind, to name a few, like to point to the fact that w has never paid for a mistake in his entire life. To Dowd, w took out daddy's new car, got drunk and drove it into a ditch. The car being our country in the metaphore.
If you never pay for your mistakes, if you are not at least verbally reprimanded for your inappropriate behavior, how would you ever know you had made a mistake in the first place.?
I am not saying Herbert Walker and Barbara were bad parents.
I am saying that w is without a clue. He believes his own propaganda, he believes that we stayed in Iraq so that innocent soldiers did not die in vain, he believes that the reasons for going to war were not manufactured, he believes that the Dems are as much to blame for the Iraq war as he is, he believes that he always had the country's best interests at heart, he believes that we are fighting THEM over there so that we do not have to fight them here, he believes that he can talk to God and get HIS take on things, he believes that the world is a better place because of him, w.
w believes in trickle-down economics, w believes that some naughty businessmen primarily caused this entire financial crash along with Dems who permitted poor people to buy homes, w believes that "welfare" causes those receiving it very great pain, he really believed that Brownie was doing a heck of a job and he believes that hiring people with degrees from Bobby Jones University was a good idea.
It is not that he is necessarily a psychopathic liar. He really does not have a clue. He makes decisions based on his gut, and then just lets go of it. Never look back. No one has ever succeeded in making him pay for his mistakes, so he must not have made them. Of course, maybe, that is exactly the mind set of a psychopathic liar.
He will speak with Rush and Fox knowing he will never really be confronted about anything.
Tonight he will not really be confronted by Charley G. First because he knows Charley is a good Republican and second because he will not admit when he is being confronted. And Charley would never tongue lash him like Mathews WOULD.
This is why I have come to the conclusion that there will be no substantial number of pardons dealing with alleged misdeeds in his White House because w could never face up to the fact that there ever were ever wrongs committed in his White House.
If someone is always with him when he retires a Chief Executive of the United States of America, and carefully screens his live TV and radio, he could stay in this mind set for the next thirty or forty years. And w would still be

I did not comprise my principles?
...I am not a crook!
...I did not have sex with that woman!
Seems like when you have to affirmatively declare it, you are probably lying!

I didn't. Honest. We talked and fell asleep and woke up wet.Under any legal analysis as to intent, conduct, motive, or action (as long as OLC is not involved) w should be imprisoned. But I swear, even then, he would convince himself that he is in a witness protection program.
