John Edwards bombshell - Andrew Young book proposal

The latest John Edwards revelations are mind-blowing:
From Andrew Young's book proposal:
Young says that his belief in Edwards ran so deep that he agreed to take the fall for the candidate, inviting the pregnant Hunter to live with him, his wife, Cheri, and their three children. Later, after Hunter delivered the baby, Young and his family moved to a different home in California.

While he was unpacking, Young discovered a videocassette, according to the book pitch. Hunter had been hired by the Edwards campaign to videotape the candidate's movements, but this one is said to have shown him taking positions that weren't on his official platform.

The purported sex tape confirmed to Hunter that Edwards was even more reckless than he thought.

According to our source, Hunter confided to Young that she and Edwards talked about getting married should the candidate's cancer-stricken wife, Elizabeth, pass away, even discussing what music they'd play at their wedding.

McCain on Letterman: cringe-inducing!

Just finished watching McCain on Letterman.  He was so defensive while trying to explain the Ayers attack, and his choice of Palin, I was really cringing and almost feeling sorry for the guy.  Dave really went after him!

His descriptions of Palin's supposed "inspirational" message of "change" probably just made viewers think of Obama.  At one point he said Americans were inspired by Palin because she has done "unusual things," prompting a little bit of laughter from the audience.

Should be lots of good clips coming out of this interview!

"John McCain's New Mortgage Plan Is Worse than I Had Imagined Possible"

Here's a must-read item from econo-blogger Brad DeLong about the McCain mortgage "plan."
Democrats want to prevent depression and support the financial markets by investing taxpayer money in banks with troubled assets. Republicans want to give taxpayers money away to the shareholders and managers of banks with troubled assets.

Sen. Barack Obama: Solving the financial crisis (video)

Here's Obama, speaking yesterday about the financial crisis (before details of the bailout were publicly announced):
Part 1:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTl6l5Xuu6g

Part 2:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1rSuG8RWFE

Part 3:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HxIKLRPjKg

He gives a great speech, and takes a few questions from reporters.  Haven't seen this clip posted anywhere, except cnn.com  Watch and pass it along.

Two words for the Obama campaign: Keating. Five.

Obama, in a very strong speech about the economic crisis, likened the current situation to the S&L scandals of the 80s. (Videos of speech posted by Liam here.)
This kinda opens the door for a reference to McCain's membership in that honoured fraternity known as the Keating Five.
This would really help drive home the parallels to present day, and slam McCain's alleged reputation as a "reformer."
Do it, Obama!

Obama speaks in defense of the military in this great video clip here.  This one deserves to go viral.

Official GOP Talking Point: 'He Called McCain A Fish'

This is truly a scandal.

http://www.jedreport.com/2008/09/official-gop-talking-point-he.html

I totally agree with the McCain campaign.... it's outrageous that Obama called McCain a fish!

How dare he. I hope Obama apologizes for referring to Sen. McCain as a fish. Truly insulting.

TPM needs to put up a COUNTER ... counting the days until Obama finally apologizes for this outrage!

Vote at Msnbc dot com ...

There's a (very badly worded) poll over on Msnbc dot com ... "Should the media stop asking questions about Sarah Palin's background and family?"
Because of the poor wording, some folks are voting 'yes,' but from their comments, it is clear that they are only referring to the 'private life' type questions.
So please go there and vote NO, and drive the NO side up a bit higher than 38.2%.
And please rec this so more folks see it.
Thanks!

Why Obama Could be in Trouble

This essay by Robert Parry is depressingly close to the mark --

Truly, the media is pathetic.

Hillary = The new Nader

Inexplicably staying in the race, seemingly out of nothing but spite and pure ego.  And rubbing everyone's nose in it.
Sure seems familiar....
