Thanks David - but it was OK for the Dems to boo Bush because they were convinced he was the anti-christ.
But Republicans can't boo Obama (or even just use their blackberries during a speech) because that would be racist! Or un-American!!
How dare you bring up actual facts! That is just unfair, you must be some un-American astroturf Nazi!
Wow! You can hear a pin drop on this blog. Where are the frothers? As I posted to MiddleClassBill, the Dems get confused and scatter like cockroaches in the light of the truth.
Um... the 'Dems' realize that this blog is grasping at meaningless straws.
Just like MCB likes to harp on the idea that we should dismiss all of the actual vile racism that has been rampant from the wingnuts out there because to call 'any' of it out 'means we're calling all republicans racists' which his total BS. I would call that grasping for 'cover'.
This whole 'you guyz boo'd' thing is hilarious. Have you ever watched the House in action? Seriously. Boos happen. No one every said censure that guy for boo'ing no matter what side of the aisle.
The notion that Farrar wants to use the fact that Bush was boo'd as some sort of excuse for the outrageous behavior of many of the republicans and specifically Joe Wilson during the president's recent speech is ... silly.
That! is why you heard crickets... it was an 'are you kidding me?' thing.
I've never said we should dismiss all the fringe racism.
I've complained about the people on here that accuse me of racism because I disagree with Obama's policies. They are just as nuts.
When did I ever say that we should dismiss all racism from wing-nuts?
What I HAVE said on here is that the wing-nuts aren't representative of the overall Republican or Conservative groups.
I have also said that people on here like to manufacture racism issues when they don't exist. Such as when I have been accused by Cville of racism just because I disagree with Obama's policies.
I'm not very keen on group masturbation.
But the Dems will cry that it was DIFFERENT back then. It was apples and oranges!! Bush deserved it but Obama doesn't!!
You called it, MCB.
And would that not be calling the kettle black?
People boo'd Wilson on the floor after he yelled out. Booing is really not the same thing. Booing is standard on the house floor. Happens all of the time. But that's about it.
And Bush was actually lying.
Of course.
He was lying but it is beside the point.
Booing is common on the House floor. Big deal...
How do you know for a fact that Bush lied?
He opened his mouth and said words.
Very funny. I think it's also very funny that the "hate Bush" crowd loves to say that he lied. Of course he KNEW that there were no WMD's. I guess Clinton was lying too, and Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, et al.
Wilson makes a completely a remark that is at the wrong time and place, but he is allowed to criticize the President.
As Sync so aptly put it booing is somewhat norm. ( not saying I condone it) However, show me a video or quote me a time when a democratic member of either house called him a lier in the middle of a speech to a joint session.
Contrary to what you, middle class and clever think there really is a bit of a difference.
The difference is that Dems are whiners. Here they have elected the President and they are still whining. I would have had more respect for you if one of your reps had the guts to call out Bush on his lies, but no. And please don't tell me it was out of respect. And yes, Obama lied. Deal with it.
