Please direct me

I am seeking a singular website dedicated to debunking hoaxes produced and proliferated by FOX news.  From what I can see, this would be a full time job for any single person to maintain but from what I can see there needs to be one and by now someone has thought of it.

I'm describing a site which would address the falsehoods presented on Fox News and debunk them with links to facts, at least where facts can be found to debunk rumors.  Some rumors can never be entirely debunked, ie if someone accused you of incest, how would literally PROVE your innocence, which is my point.

The reason I'm seeking this today is that I've recently heard what to me is a new and rather paranoid sounding rumor regarding Health Care Reform and the Public Option, which I believe must be false.  I'd prefer not to state what the rumor is for fear of proliferating it, but from what I've been able to find in web searches, it seems that it almost certainly originated in a news article someplace and was misconstrued by one or a few people and then proliferated.  I've so far found one reference to it as a comment on a Fox news story but I cannot as yet decipher what it was in the article that gave the reader such a skewed interpretation of the content.

It might not even be possible to completely debunk it except to demand that those presenting it as factual present the source.  At present I've asked the person making the bizarre claim to email me a link to the story he's talking about.   He agreed to do so but his last email to me did not contain the promised link.  I suspect this is all borne of some hoax circulated in email.  When will people learn?

Cheney's misguided perceptions

In the past few weeks, Cheney has been quoted as saying that the desires of thousands of Americans to see to it that those responsible for committing WAR CRIMES be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, is somehow Politically Motivated.  He appears to be saying that for Democratic politicians to push for the prosecution of agents of the Bush administration for these acts is solely intended to hurt the Republican party.

This is not a matter of political views.  It is not as though the Obama administration would be prosecuting Bush for such actions as pushing DOMA through the Supreme Court as unconstitutional, which I believe it was.  In fact, from what I can see, Obama has been resisting the torture investigation, most likely because in the end all it will reveal is that Bush authorized the torture, and since he's out of office he can't do it again;  Nothing useful would be gained.

As I see it, the unlawful torture of detainees, some of whom were merely taken in for questioning about events they were not even suspected as being a party to, is worth investigating if only to reveal who knew what when, and hold those accountable who should have blown the whistle sooner.  Excusing torture makes the country responsible for it appear evil, which is inherently bad for international relations.  In fact, Torture is considered so universally unacceptable that even Bush used it as one of the reasons that we as a nation had to invade Iraq;  TO STOP THE TORTURE!

The benefit of such an investigation would be purging our ranks of those who will tolerate torture or carry it out, thereby making it clear to the world that we practice what we preach, and that we fully regret many of the unfortunate activities of the past eight years.  The fact that a few Republican politicians are likely to lose their positions are go to prison is merely a happy by-product.  :-)

About the only detail Cheney has somewhat correct is that yes, it *is* political, but he has the cause-and-effect backwards.  The reason there's a Democrat in the White House is largely because the conscience of a nation was disappointed with the Bush administration and its own unwillingness to take serious responsibility for the torture of detainees.  We, as conscientious citizens, wanted to see those responsible prosecuted, up to and including Bush if the evidence showed him to be responsible (as I believe he was).  This may even be the reason that McCain announced during his campaign that he supported an investigation.  Had McCain won, I wonder if Cheney would still be saying the investigation is politically motivated?

Historically speaking, war crimes are rarely (if ever) prosecuted by the administration responsible for them.  Lately the right wing has been making a LOT of unfounded comparisons between Obama and Hitler, so I'll try to steer clear of any direct comparisons between Hitler's war crimes and Bush's, or even Saddam's.  However when it comes to paying for such crimes there is no easier way than giving your wife your only cyanide pill and then shooting yourself in the head.  I'm not advising that either Bush or Cheney do that...  I'm just putting it out there.

Below I have listed several related articles I enjoyed which I suspect others will find highly informative, each with a helpful description.  Of all the articles on this post I feel the "best" one is the one linked in the first paragraph.
