It does seem to me that since the Democrats will control something like 57 to 59 votes* in the Senate, that maybe such an important committee ought to be chaired by, oh I don't know, someone who at least hasn't trashed the new President's credentials on national security.

I mean, maybe the Senate ought to select someone who isn't so balatantly partisan.

I had my own "President-elect Obama" moment; not nearly as dramatic: I was was pulling into a parking parking at work the other morning when I heard the hourly news come on the radio.

I merely shouted "YEAH"!

If you look at the degree of wrong-doing in the Nixon, Reagan, Bush 41 and Bush 43 administrations, it got progessively worse with each succeeding one. The Conservatives in the Bush 43 administration who politiced the executive branch of government to an unprecedented degree will be back. If those among them who broke laws aren't brought to justice, they'll do it again next time, only it will be worse.

And it was pretty bad this time.

I do think Hillary gave Obama a geat campaign education, and he used it well.

Likewise, I think that if Hillary had been the nominee she also would have cleaned MCain's clock.

We're all better off for this election, and I hope we can get Hillary's Health Care Plan enacted.

If I were Obama, I point out that that's as "collective" as I intend to get.

"Not Bush" is a pretty good choice these days, -unless you've been hiding under a rock.

It isn't "what matters is winning" for Liberals. It's "what matters is policy, not character".

Voting for "character" what got us G.W. Bush- who not incidentally has one of the most repulsive characters of any president in modern history.

One could just as easily make the case that if you really support the the Iraq War you should pay extra money over and abopve your tax obligation to support it. If you're not doing that you must be a hypocrite.
