Middle East Democracy on the March
Polls have closed in Lebanon, with turnout breaking the previous record. Meanwhile, the presidential election campaign in Iran is really heating up.

Wasn't it just last week that Israel told us they are the only democracy in the Middle East? How soon before they tell us again? Next week?
Will we be able to connect the dots and say, "Hey, that's not true! Israel is not the only democracy in the Middle East!" or will we forget, and meekly accept what they tell us while we cheer on their next bombing of Lebanon?
If Israel is not telling us the truth about them being the only democracy in the Middle East, is there anything else they're not telling us the truth about?

I recommended the post just to encourage people to read the comment. Lebanon has a democracy. While Hezbollah might not have been our party of choice, it was duly elected, and then ignored by Dubya. Let's see what can be done with dialogue, now that Obama and HRClinton are on the job.

I just spoke with my friend who gave me a run down of the election. He said it was exciting and that he would run for election in four years time.
