I was thinking today that an automaker bailout should take the form of the government leveraging an employee takeover of Ford and GM by converting the companies' pension obligations into some sort of convertible stock which give current shareholders one third of voting shares, the union and retirees one third, and other debt holders the final third. Dividends on the third owned by current shareholders would be suspended for three years, and then could only be paid out based on automakers percentage of vehicles sold that were hybrids, electrics, fuel-cell-powered, and cars that run on 100% biofuels, until such a point as those were the only kinds of cars the company sold.

Your complaint would be much more effective if you did three things:

Mentioned whether the specific offensive T-shirt actually appeared in an ad on the site. (Or is it just a product that is sold by an advertiser on the ad network that TPM uses?)

Didn't use offensive language like the F-word

Was put in an email to Josh, and not posted as a general whine to an audience that you wouldn't have access to were it not supported by the very ads you are complaining about. - i.e. you, my friend, are actually the person paying for the ad by increasing page views for the site.

He is dedicated, tenacious, and he is exactly the type of individual who has given up probably a better lifestyle to be in public service and we certainly appreciate all of that.
I can see counting the robo-calls as contacts, but the problem is equating the robo-calls made by the McCain campaign with 'sales' calls. The vast majority (perhaps 100%?) of McCain robo-calls were negative, unsubstantiated smears against Obama. Meanwhile, all of the 100's of calls I made to swing-state voters for Obama were literally that FOR OBAMA, always including a pitch of why I supported Obama.

McCain's calls weren't trying to sell their brand of soap, they were trying to convince you were better off skipping that shower today. Even if they had made twice as many calls, of the calls were made by humans, the electorate was not going to be swayed to sit this one out and wait another four years for another pair of choices.

RE: KY Debate bugging -

Eavesdropping in KY is a Felony, as is the placement of a bug. I'm not sure why Lunsford didn't turn over the recorder as evidence to the State Police. If his opponent was aware the plan, he's likely guilty of conspiracy to commit a felony.

PDF's of the full text of the KY Eavesdropping law are available here: http://162.114.4.13/KRS/526-00/CHAPTER.HTM here are some relevant passages:

526.010 Definition.
The following definition applies in this chapter, unless the context
otherwise requires:
"Eavesdrop" means to overhear, record, amplify or transmit any part of
a wire or oral communication of others without the consent of at least
one (1) party thereto by means of any electronic, mechanical or other
device.

526.020 Eavesdropping.
(1) A person is guilty of eavesdropping when he intentionally uses any
device to eavesdrop, whether or not he is present at the time.
(2) Eavesdropping is a Class D felony.

526.030 Installing eavesdropping device.
(1) A person is guilty of installing an eavesdropping device when he
intentionally installs or places such a device in any place with the
knowledge that it is to be used for eavesdropping.
(2) Installing an eavesdropping device is a Class D felony.

I think you need to step back for minute and relax. I know things are tense going into the final week, but you need to see this as what it was meant to be - parody, of the McCain campaign. Certainly McCain's association with Stevens has been much closer than Obama's with Bill Ayers, but apparently that doesn't mean McCain feels Ayers isn't fair game. I don't think Ayers (or Wright) is fair game, but if McCain does, he needs to think about that story of the man who lives in glass house.

Actually it looks like hiding from the press has managed to keep Palin 'unknown' to a significant number of voters. Look at Question 12:
12. From what you know about Sarah Palin’s views on major political issues, do you think she is too conservative, too
liberal, or about right?
BASED ON REGISTERED VOTERS
Total
35 ... Too conservative
7 ... Too liberal
42 ... About right
16 ... (DO NOT READ) Don’t know
100
16% of voters don't know enough about her to judge her political views and 7% think she is too liberal.

My question, is the media is reporting she's going to announcing a plan to increase Special Ed. funds, but this contradicts McCain's domestic spending freeze.
