ROVING WITH THE SUNDAY TALK SHOWS

Can you stand it?  Karl Rove is coming to Jesus this Sunday.  Think Progress has a few choice comments on what to ask the Eminence Gris of the current administration as he goes from one Sunday talk to another.

I wonder if he will enlighten us with respect to Hillary's fatal flaws.

In future, I suspect Rove will join the lecture circuit and probably get a hundred grand each time he pulls out his power point presentation.  Does this mean he gets to keep all that money (I owe it to my family to leave the WH)?  Or will potential audiences balk at paying Rove all that moolah just to see him get it wrong again?

"KARL ROVE IN A CORNER" Josh Green, Atlantic 11/04

If you checkout HuffingtonPost today and read Jay Rosen on Karl Rove and the "savviness of the main stream media", you will be rewarded.

The  Josh Green piece written just prior to the 2004 presidential election buttresses the contention by Rosen that Rove's successes depend not only on his brilliant use of quantitative marketing techniques applied to political campaigning but more import on a complicit press that had no idea how well it had been hornswoggled by Rove.

Rove conned an all too willing press by appealing to their capacity for being "with it", savvy and "knowing".  What I like about  Rosen's piece on HuffPost is he names names.

THE ROVE PRESIDENCY by Joshua Green

The September issue of the Atlantic magazine features an amazing report on Karl Rove's White House tenure with George W.  It is the best writing on the subject I have seen to date.

How odd that Mr. Rove is leaving the White House, just when the MSM is finally asking the right questions.

The silence of the MSM on this outstanding piece by Joshua Green is deafening.  Not a word so far... except for the WSJ opinion by Paul Gigot.  You would never know he was talking about the same person.

"It was worth every penny."

Karl Rove it seems is leaving the Bush White House because he owes it to his family...to return to the Texas Hill Country and such.

I really love it when Paul Gigot editorializes about Rove's "forbearance" and Patrick Fitzgerald's "remorseless pursuit".

Mr. Rove doesn't say, though others do, that this timing also allows him to leave on his own terms. He has survived a probe by a remorseless special counsel, and lately a subpoena barrage from Democrats for whom he is the great white whale. He shows notable forbearance in declining to comment on prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, who dragged him through five grand jury appearances. He won't even disclose his legal bills, except to quip that "every one has been paid" and that "it was worth every penny."

Yeah, right...worth every penny of OPM - other people's money.  Rove and Scooter Libby are unparalleled at raising money for legal defense.  My guess is that Rove and Libby edged out even Bill and Hillary for using OPM in their  legal defense.
