Wilson and GOP Voted for Healthcare for Illegal Immigrants in 2003
Well, well, well, the truth shall set us free they say.
On Wednesday night, Rep. Joe Wilson [R, SC-2], shouted "You lie!" at President Obama when he said that the healthcare bill would not cover illegal immigrants. "The supporters of the government takeover of healthcare and liberals who want to give healthcare to illegals are using my opposition as an excuse to distract from the critical questions being raised about this poorly conceived plan," Wilson said the next day in a campaign fundraising video.
However, in 2003, Wilson voted to provide federal funds for illegal immigrants' healthcare. The vote came on the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, which contained Sec. 1011a bipartisan bill in Congress to make it permanent. authorizing $250,000 annually between 2003 and 2008 for government reimbursements to hospitals who provide treatment for uninsured illegal immigrants. The program has been extended through 2009 and there is currently

Act in 2003 giving illegal immigrants HEALTHCARE.
Now they are standing up against any such care in any Democratic Party plan? What a bunch of hypocrites.

Anyone who raises the specter of illegal immigrants overrunning our country, health care system, welfare system, etc, is a vampire.
Anyone who actually FALLS for these scare tactics is as stupid as a Crazy Glenn Beck fan.

Coonsey - he didn't vote for illegal immigrants to have healthcare.
He voted to reimburse hospitals to help them cover the costs of illegals coming into their emergency rooms.
That care is already legally mandated and he's just voting to help cover the costs.
That is very different than saying that they will be getting health insurance. It's not hypocritical at all. Stop posting stuff on here just because you read about it on HuffPo. Thanks

Voting to get hospitals reimbursed for expenses related to illegal immigrant emergency room visits that were already mandated is completely different than giving immigrants true access to health insurance.

But that's different Coonsey. These people aren't brutes. They funded treatment for immigrants at death's door in the ER. They just don't want to cover Making them, and keeping them healthy. Yeah, that, plus the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, just happened to put a lot of cash in their friends from PHARMA's pockets.
