Dedication for Cheney? You've Got to be Kidding!!!

CHEYENNE, Wyo. - A decision by the University of Wyoming to name a new center for international students for former Vice President Dick Cheney is drawing criticism from people who say Cheney's support for the Iraq war and harsh interrogation techniques should disqualify him from the distinction.

The former vice president and wife Lynne are expected to attend Thursday's dedication of the new Cheney International Center on the Laramie campus.

I sincerely hope that thousands show up to protest this dedication.  This man deserves to be in jail --- not given praise.

If you live nearby or can get a charter bus to travel there on Thursday --- please please please DO SO!

I left off the best part of story:

"The center is funded in part with $3.2 million the Cheneys donated to the university in several installments while he was vice president."

Now we know why the Univ is dedicating this to Cheney --- not because he's a GOOD MAN and Wonderful past VP.

Precisely,

Apparently you can pay for a center at a University for a particular purpose and make them name it after you.

That's hardly a dedication. That's buying a university brick by brick. You own it and you can call it whatever you want.

I'm surprised they didn't demand that Cheney didn't demand to be called venerable and beloved in the title.

That's cute. But seriously, this should be protested by as many people as humanly possible. They are ADVOCATING this man's actions while VP as being honorable. They were not.

Appalling!!!!

And naming it "international center" is sort of ironic just as information is coming out about how he forced the hands of the Brits in that explode-with-small-amounts-of-liquid plot. Apparently the British were watching the group, trying to get as much information, find out who was leading, funding .. but there was one person in the Mid-east connected to it that Cheney was hell-bent to get, but if he did it would end their ability to monitor the whole group. Apparently the Brits are still very UNamused.
