Cheney More Liked then Pelosi? You've Got to be kidding!

PRINCETON, NJ -- Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former Vice President Dick Cheney have little in common politically, but they receive almost identical image ratings from the American public. According to a May 29-31 Gallup Poll, 37% of Americans have a favorable view of Cheney and 34% have a favorable view of Pelosi. Both Cheney and Pelosi are viewed unfavorably by at least half of Americans.

I'm not a fan of Nancy Pelosi, even from before she became Speaker of the House; but to put her in the same category as Dick Cheney (the same level of 'disgusting') is ludicrous.

They are both disliked for opposite reasons.  She because she refuse to stand up against the Bush administration and he because he refused to admit any wrong doing and for his arrogant actions.  They are both disliked for their personalities.

The biggest shocker here is that Cheney's favorably has increased since March.  I guess it's true that Americans have short memories.

We Americans that still REMEMBER, must NEVER allow the others to completely forget what this man did to our nation the past 8 years in office.  If Democrats in office had any guts and sense of pride in their nation, this man and his so-called boss would be in jail today for war crimes and for lying to the American people.

I can believe it. The Republican base loves that Cheney is attacking the President. Nancy Pelosi seems to have what could generously be described as tepid support among the Democratic base, a level of support Harry Reid would probably swap with her.

I'll never understand how she and Reid KEEP their jobs. They are the worst leaders I've seen in my life time.

Wait, wasn't that Bush?

Seriously, who are these people being polled? I would bet money that if you asked random people who is Nancy Pelosi, they'd look at you cross-eyed. Also, Americans may be forgiving and have short memories but not when it comes to who led this country into a shit hole.

It is "than", not "then". :)

excuse me Astral66 - sorry, not perfect.

The power of propaganda, combined with Pelosi having better things to do with her time, and doing them.

This sounds exactly like something Pelosi would say. And it's probably the reason your approval ratings are likely to resemble hers.

Might as well face reality. Democrats have two totally inarticulate politicians leading Congress. Can the average person understand a sentence delivered by Pelosi or Reid? One of the major reasons Obama won is that he can talk. I wish he could walk the walk the way he can talk the talk, but talk he can.

Frankly, it seems Pelosi is on her own. The party has not circled the wagons to protect her. Cheney, well, he's a GOP rock star and gets on any TV station he calls. So why is it strange he's favored? Cheney is such a frickin "A" list rock star, his daughters get spots on TV when they can't get the Blunderdick himself. Pathetic!!!

Pelosi likes playing the victim. Bush spanked her repeatedly and she kept coming back for more. And under her leadership the American people have shared in her penchant for victimization. She's a whiny pissant and simply isn't up to playing the game in a winning way. There couldn't have been a worse time in our history for a speaker like her. I wish we'd had a cocksure, mean as hell SOB who actually cared about the country over the last few years. We never had a chance with Pelosi.

I don't think it can be said Pelosi doe snot care about this country. She just has a different way of doing it. As for the rest of this, that would be Cheney, except his country is called Halliburton.

She can have all the different ways she wants, but if they don't work they're useless.

I agree that neither Reid or Pelosi should be selected to fill their current positions...but that isn't going to change, so what can we do to mitigate the damage?
