Rush Limbaugh: Needs His Radio Show to be Cut
On his radio show Friday, Rush Limbaugh suggested that Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) would be dead by the time health care reform legislation passes. "Before it's all over, it'll be called the Ted Kennedy memorial health care bill," the talk show host says...
The Democratic campaign arm has also launched a petition, asking Republican Party Chairman Michael Steele to denounce Rush Limbaugh "once and for all"
I'm sorry but this is the second republican or so-called conservative that has been outrageously rude by discussing the possible death of a famous person. First it was U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning that predicted that U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg would be dead from pancreatic cancer within nine months. Now Rush Limbaugh is predicting that Sen. Ted Kennedy would be dead by the time health care reform was passed.
Where do these two men get off playing God? Rush is a radio talk host. He's not a doctor, a CEO, a legislator, a Senator or a President of a nation.
What is it with the Republican Party? All some of their members seem to think about these days is somebody dying. Do they fear the death of their own Party so much as to relate that to a human being's fate?
For the past year Rush did nothing but attack black people with his words because of Barack Obama's campaign - and he got away with it.
In a January 22 interview on Fox News' Hannity, Limbaugh said of media coverage of Obama: "We are being told that we have to hope he succeeds, that we have to bend over, grab the ankles, bend over forward, backward, whichever, because his father was black, because this is the first black president." Limbaugh had previously declared in June 2008 that Obama's "only chance of winning" the presidency "is that he's black." During the 2008 presidential campaign, Limbaugh also called Obama "an affirmative action candidate" and asserted during the May 14, 2008, broadcast of his show, "If Barack Obama were Caucasian, they would have taken this guy out on the basis of pure ignorance long ago."
This man has been divorced three times, gotten hooked on illegal drugs, he's a heavy smoker and way overweight. His latest 'show' at the CPAC meeting, where he is seen jumping up and down saying, "Rush, Rush, Rush..." and waving his arms about reminded me of the 10 second videos of Rev. Wright dancing around preaching. Why anybody would bother taking Rush's' opinion 'as gospel' is beyond me; but sadly they do.
I don't care how famous you are, television or radio, if you talk like this about another human being (that is currently undergoing health issues) you should be removed from your job. Some of you will say, "but he's got a huge following"; well sorry, but so did Hitler.

One has to wonder what this man is "hiding" beneath all that fat. It can't be good!

EEUUWW. A visual no one wants.
Unfortunately, while he can have a gastric bypass and diet to help with the body fat, a lobotomy is the only thing that will remove the lard between his ears. He is truly a boil upon the arse of humanity.

For broadcasters like Rush Limbaugh, a radio is a device that converts hate speech into hate crime.

Limbaugh and Bunning are rude, but right. Kennedy has glioblastoma multiforme. The median survival rate at one year past diagnosis is 50%. Justice Ginsburg's odds aren't much better. For better or for worse, neither of them is long for this world. This will most certainly have consequences with respect for the balance of power because of who they are and the positions that they hold. No one should be prohibited from discussing this reality.
Having that said, these guys border on sounding like they wish someone dead or that they take pleasure in the misfortune of their enemies. It's rude as hell, but being rude isn't against the law. I don't think that their comments really mean much at the end of the day. The knuckle-draggers who regularly listen to Rush have already long since sworn their undying hatred of people like Kennedy. The average thinking, feeling person is probably immediately turned off by his bellicosity. Let them keep talking and thusly digging their own graves with mainstream America.

The demagogues will always be with us. The silver lining is that rush has a 15% approval rating.

I think all this focus on Rush is wasted space and energy. Both sides in this game are playing each other. We are the suckers perhaps for spinning our wheels while Rome burns.

The hardest concept to understand about free speech is this: the speech that some consider the most vile - is the speech that must be protected the most.
Comparing Limbaugh's following to that of Hitler - uh, you don't think that's "hateful"?
You're making me laugh...as most intolerant liberals do....and don't fool yourself: you are intolerant.
Free speech means - even the stuff you don't want to hear....

"The hardest concept to understand about free speech is this: the speech that some consider the most vile - is the speech that must be protected the most."
- Limbaugh's right to speak freely IS NOT the right to have a microphone. He is free to set-up shop on street corner (just like every other crazy) and have his say to whomever wants to listen.
"Comparing Limbaugh's following to that of Hitler - uh, you don't think that's "hateful"?"
-Do you consider Limbaugh's hate to be hateful?
"You're making me laugh...as most intolerant liberals do....and don't fool yourself: you are intolerant."
- No doubt, the irony of your statement is completely lost on you.
"Free speech means - even the stuff you don't want to hear...."
- Wrong. The protections that give Limbaugh or you the right to speak also give us the right to decide not to listen.
So far, your attempts at intellectual combat have been weak. Can we expect anything stronger from you? If that's the best you can do you had better return to your freeper pals among whom you are, no doubt, the brains - LOL. Now, you're making ME laugh!

Bzzzt! Godwin penalty! In your own thread!
It is tough to "allow" drug abusing polymorphous perverse entertainers a forum for their opinions, but for every Rush there is a Richard Pryor, knowwhatImean? We can not begin to demand censure of our opponents because to do so eliminates our prerogative to defend our flawed heroes.
History is replete with noble people who battled terrible demons. We must not use people's demons against them except in matters of justice.

Rush has the right to say what he wishes. I see no reason to prevent his having that right.
It is my wish that he be a victim of his own fantasy, the free market. We should repeat what he says openly so that we can refute his remarks openly and break the spell he has had on millions of people for more then two decades. It is all about transparency. Bringing the crap to light and calling it what it is.
The latest tactic of exposing Rush for what he is has been very successful. The Reich still does not know how to respond. They are in a corner. Either someone declares Rush is NOT the leader of the Republican Party, or Rush is. I posted about this almost a month ago right after he made that statement. Nothing is more ridiculous and embarassing then a political party being played by a talk-radio entertainer. That is ALL that Rush Limbaugh is, entertainment for those addicted to anger. He would NEVER win a political seat. He's a college drop out for God's sake.
NOTE: Sorry about the caps, but I get serious Rush rage myself because I do not believe anyone has done more damage to the country I love then Rush Limbaugh.

How would this feel?
Coonsey does not have the right to express any opinions whatsoever on the internet.
Now don't take that as my being in support of the blatherings being emitted for the gasbag of the right. Far from it. But don't think you can take away another's right without thinking it won't ever happen to you and come back to bite ya' on your own ass.

From what I have read, Senator Kennedy and Justice Ginsburg are not likely to be long for this world. This is an observation made countless of times throughout the world by families talking about relatives, coworkers, and about our leaders (who are in the public eye). It is not playing God. It is not wishing someone failed health. Limbaugh did not wish death upon these democrats (if he did he would have said so) though who does wish their political philosphies fail.
Limbaugh is a talk show host and commentator excercising his freedom of speech. You know who he is and what he does. If you do not like it, turn the dial on your radio. It is simply. Nothing to it. End of story.
The real problem for those who disagree with Limbaugh's view points is that they do not want him to have a talk show and do not want anyone to listen to him. It is about POWER. If Rush Limbaugh is such a horrible person with terrible view points, he would not have such a loyal following. His show would fail like Air America's programs have.
If you do not think it is about POWER look at the Fairness Doctrice and localized programming as an example. The airwaves (AM airwaves only) are supposedly owned by the people and equal points of view need air time per the doctrine. AM is the home of talk radio which is dominated by conservative talk. Why are the FM waves not owned by the peoples or the TV airwaves? Why are newspapers not being considered subject to Fairness? The publishers get the benefit of tax payer roads to distribute their product.
Another example of power is Senator Ted Kennedy. His health is failing, and he even skipped the vote for the stimulus package which is supposed to kick start our economy. I think most reasonable people would retire if unable to perform their duties especially given that he has no money issues holding him in a job. It is POWER. It is status.
Conservatives are not perfect. Yes I know Limbaugh states he has talent on loan from God. It is a joke. Get over it.
Why would you want a President to fail? Please do not get the word fail confused with die.
50% of households own their home outright and 92% have a loan for a home paid on time. You may want the President to fail if he propose a plan where the rest of home owners chip in for the 8% that can not make their payments.
45 million in USA do not have health insurance. You may not want the President to overide health care when research shows $15 million uninsured qualify for government coverage now, another $15 million have off and on insurance due to job changes, and another $15 million do not need insurance because they are wealthy or too young to see the benefit of paying for it. Yes. Someone actual researched who these $45 million were. Also, the $45 million in USA are necessarily citizens. Oh well...so much for Americans first.
You may want the President to fail if he pushed the biggest spending bill is history through the legislative process without allowing the American people to look through it as he promised.
You may want the President to fail if he agreed to approve an omnibus bill funding 9,000 pork projects after he said his people would go line by line looking for pork.
You may want the President to fail if he wants union members to vote on contracts opening instead of a secret ballet. So much for privacy.
The list can go on. I am sure many Democrats hoped George Bush would fail. If you think the Preident policies are wrong, would you go along with them because he is the President. If you would, then you probably do not have strong convinctions.

Well . . .
Please allow me to voice my dissatisfaction with floormat's overly word waste of bandwidth. And if you don't allow me, I'm going to do it anyway.
To get right down to it, floormat and the cronies and authoritarian dipshits that floormat supports want to control every aspect of our lives. They want us to rise, fall asleep, work, and live at the beat of a their drum. Then, once we're molded into a uniform mass, we'll be incapable of seeing that what I wrote just a moment ago is not the paranoid rambling of a perfidious wacko. It's a fact.
In short, floormat (better known as a hit & run troll) is proof that ignorance often drives misperceptions. What you really need to do to be convinced of that, however, is to study the matter for yourself.
This floormat troll is handing ya'll and big load of horsecrap!

If Rush Limbaugh is such a horrible person with terrible view points, he would not have such a loyal following.
If one assumes the world is predominantly made up of lovely intelligent human beings who can discern crapola from argula, then Rush would not have such a loyal following. This seems kind of far fetched.
But if one assumes there are hundreds of thousands of people who lack discernment and follow things blindly [we might call them dittoheads, also] and they might cheer at this title, then there is a possibility that Rush is a "horrible person with terrible view point".
A view point I might suggest as promoted by "a horrible person with a terrible view point" might be the suggestoin that people should be dittoheads, that they should simply abdicate their power to think for themselves and surrender to a loudmouth. To me this is reprehensible. People should be required to think for themselves and questoin everything, then they should question their answers and question the questions, and then they should change their minds and think about it some more.

Rush has lost my respect, he lies for design and persuasion and if he had respectable points, he wouldn't have to do that. I lost respect for him when he sold his soul to the Republican party. He didn't need to do that, but money talks.
He needs to get a grip on his health, his mental state, his need for adoration, and take some lessons in telling the truth. I think his remarks are racist, and he incites anger. Not a good combination.
I used to like him, in 1985. I don't anymore and he earned every smidgen of it.
We have more intelligent and truthful people to listen to. He's not a choice for me.
