We Need 'Vote of Confidence' for Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi
I hear that Senator Harry Reid has vowed to stay in power till 2015. Well, this is one area I wish Democrats would 'stand up' against.
Instead of fighting over whether to accept a good man as a Senator, they should be demanding for a vote of confidence of Senator Harry Reid and the same goes for Speaker Nancy Pelosi in the House.
All these two people have accomplished during the past 2 years is to make Democrats appear even more weak than they use to appear to voters. They've played 'chicken' with the Bush admin and the GOP so many times and back away just as many that they've done nothing but make Democrats a joke.
Somebody needs to take away their powers. And do it immediately.

I'm sure the House and Senate will jump right on this for ya.

They just had their vote on Pelosi yesterday -- unanimous election by her peers in the House caucus. So could we maybe let this go and actually work on something real?

Yesterday, the House side "modified" procedural rules, now making life for House R's more difficult by preempting Republican attempts to delay House bills that have the greater probable chances of passing.... the worry and focus should be on Obama and his spineless attempt at being executive-like by capitulating already to the Republican leadership on the Senate side.

Nope. Pelosi is my goddess. She did everything she set out to do. If you wish to blame the Senate, go ahead, but 49-49 is not an easy split for a leader to handle.
More filibusters than in any other Senate term. Ever.
We will see.
But Pelosi is my favorite Congress Person right now.
And just a note. Obama will prove to everyone that he is not spineless.

Actually, Pelosi was shown to be incompetent when the House bailout vote failed. It was her responsibility to be at least able to count votes and not have a roll call until she could deliver. She failed Speaker of the House rule #1.
However, Chuck is correct (see above). The House voted her back in, so let's move on.

Oh I am moving on. And I am doing so happily.

Her tenure has been less than impressive for reasons I cited above. We need someone more along the lines of a Sam Rayburn to get things moving. Or a Tip ONeil.
Let's hope that Pelosi is able to continue to grow into the job -- she has a lot of improving she needs doing.

These two are without a doubt the weakest congressional leaders of the last half century. Neither one has a spine and they certainly don't care about ordinary citizens. But then thats true of pretty much the entire congress.
