Prediction for 2011

I predict that after President Obama gets his stimulus package passed which involves his energy plan, some of his health care plans (records system), his jobs plan, his infrastructure plans, his environment plans, etc..., and after the 2010 congressional election (seeing who gets voted on and if Dems gain in their majority), and after the majority of our troops have been withdrawn from Iraq, President Barack Obama will begin to release his administrations exstensive investigation results on the abuses toward our nation and it's constitution by the Bush administration during 2000-2008.

By 2010, if Obama is successful in getting most of what he promised Americans during his campaign passed, he will have the approval of the majority of Americans to do what he feels is in the best interest of our nation.  Protect our Constitution and our rights.

To do that, he will inform Americans that we must find out why we got we were in 2008.  Why were we in two wars, why did we have such a deep recession, why did 3 million people lose their jobs, why did we torture prisioners, what else did we do?  Most importantly, why did we lose the respect of our allies?  We must know these things so that we do not allow them to happen again.

Barack Obama taught the Constitution in college.  He respects and trusts it.  He will want to preserve it.

We can dream can't we?

Yes we can dream can't we? I would only follow up with the dream of why can't the redress of the Bush adminastration and it's agenda be done in the first 100 days by simply telling the American people the truth. And let the chips fall whre they may. Wouldn't that qualify as change.

Viper, we really need a breath of fresh air. Se need to open the windows and let the room breath.

This whole year Obama is going to need every Democrat and every Republican vote he can get. He can't afford to tick off anybody at this time.

He needs to try and get the things he promised Americans that he would do --- at least start them --- then see how Americans still feel about him and if he still has their approval --- go after the Bush admin's wrongs.

If he goes after them now, he could hurt ALL Democrats like Clinton did with the Military gay story in his first year. By the time the military and Hillary's disaster's health care plan blew -- he had no more political power.

Coonsey ,
The difference I see between Clinton's first year & Obama's first year - is that the Public may already be out front on demanding investigations into Bushcheney 's criminal activity. Look around us at how many retirees have lost their life's savings because of the stock market manipulation
for starters . Look at how outraged the military families are about the mistreatment of vets - to say nothing about loved ones being sent repeatedly to an illegal occupation. Plus there are already ongoing criminal investigations that may very well force all of this crap out in the open -I am thinking now specifically of the John Durham case involving who ordered the destruction of the CIA's torture 'tapes '.
Coonsey I do agree with you that President elect Obama will be diligent about protecting our Constitution & restoring our good name but it will be in my opinion a lot sooner then 2011, because stealing my "Dad's" retirement ,and sending my "brother" to Iraq three times for an illegal occupation , watching my "cousins" still be unable to return to NOLA because of Katrina , -is a whole lot more serious of criminal circumstances then getting a blowj---b from an intern.

Just listening to arguments on the radio for and against prosecuting Bush and gang for war crimes. I was thinking about how AGGRESSISVELY the republicans persued impeaching Clinton over lying to the grand jury about a blow job. I don't remember the country being TORN APART - rendered asunder - by that foolishness. I do remember the public being rather pissed about the amount of money being spent. I think coonsey may be right, I hope he is right, that Obama will look into it later. There are no good arguments not to look into the issue. There are good arguments to delay and the first is we have troops overseas. I would love to see Bush, Chaney, Rumsfield and Alto(? I think thats his name - the shark lawyer that told Bush he could rip up the consitution with impunity) behind bars for a while. Even just having thier names besmeerched in public would be good.

If nothing else, it will significantly undermine the revisionist history that the neocons are currently trying to spin about the Bush Maladministration.

I hope to hell you're right.
