Bush Will Work on His Library: Why Bother?
The Bushes will move to their new $2 million, 8,500-square-foot Dallas home -- not paid for by taxpayers -- on Jan. 20, and there Bush will be close to his future presidential library at Southern Methodist University.
"We're working on a conceptual design for the building," said Mark Langdale, president of the George W. Bush Foundation. The president will help develop the $300 million structure, which will include a library, museum and policy institute.
Fund raising is just beginning, Langdale said. Once the project is finished in 2013, the National Archives and Records Administration will take over the operation of the library and museum, at federal expense. Construction will be paid for with private funds, and Bush is expected to be involved in organizing the fund raising drive.
"He is enthusiastic about spending a lot of his time and effort working on the programs of the institute," Langdale said.
I was just wondering exactly what will be on display at his library? Anytime somebody needed access to anything pertaining to his administration's dealings or actions -- he would claim "executive privilege" or "It's classified information".
One can only assume this information would continue to be 'classified'? And they surely don't want Americans to know what they 'really' did while in office -- would they?
So, Mr President -- why bother? Will it be an PHOTO ONLY library?

I think a children's "please touch" museum. You can try on his flight suit and track jacket. And see if that t-day turkey is real.

Hey they can just make crap up. You know, like they do for the creation museums. I hear that dinosaurs and man exhibit is really convincing.
After all isn't the Bush legacy really all about trying to convince us that their fiction is reality?

It could also be a museum showing the different sizes of brains compared to Bush's.

The Adult Section will start with The Pet Goat, probably followed by Dick and Jane, and then The Cat in the Hat, followed by the blank page version of The Wisdom of Spiro Agnew.

Speaking of shoes, maybe there could be a fountain, but instead of throwing 3 coins in it - it will be a fountain of "mission accomplished" - and you can personally throw shoes at it. They won't even need it to be a water fountain, as a continual rain of shoes will "look" like a fountain. Maybe it could have lights for "shock and awe" at nighttime. For a design, why not just copy the Green Zone US embassy, but a bit smaller, and have a no-bid contract where KBR will do the job for way over bid and way under quality.
I could go on.... Making up as I go along, just like they did!

Look, somewhere in Ohio I think, is some museum set up by fundamentalists who think we lived with dinosaurs. I call it the Fred Flintstone museum. It is all relative, I guess.
You know, people who marry their relatives.
w cannot read. I do not care what Rove says. There was some emergency within the last month and w said he had not read the memo yet. The memo turned out to be three pages.
For him to get a library that is worth half a billion dollars. But what are you going to do?
I would rather see my money go to Fred Flintstone.
