Obama: What did you Internal investigation find?
Over a week ago, President Elect Barack Obama promised Americans more details ("in the coming days", he said) about who, if anybody had contact with Governor Blagojevich about Obama's Senate seat replacement.
So far all we've seen are rumors about Rahm Emanuel having contact with aids of Blagojevich's and how the GOP are taking advantage of the situation to connect the dots or at least try to with respects to Obama's connections with Blagojevich.
Is Obama hoping the issue will just 'go away'? Where are those 'facts' he promised about 10 days ago?
Don't get me wrong. I don't think there's anything 'there' to cause a problem. I do however know how the media and the GOP can make it 'appear' that they are 'hiding' something. The last thing I want to happen is for Obama to start his presidency under some cloud like President Bush did.
Besides, I think President Elect Obama owes his voters this information. He's promised since day one of his campaign to tell us what we need to know, not necessarily what we want to hear. He's also promised an 'open' administration and more a more transparent one. Well, so far, that's not happened.
Who had contact with Blagojevich or his aids sir? When and why did they have that contact? What was said during that contact sir?
Get the facts out there so this scandal can be off 'your' back.

For some reason... with the rumors about Rahm and his stating that he's been getting death threats... I think there may reasons that the facts are not all out on the table that may be in the best interest of the persons involved. I don't think 'our right to know'/need to know everything is really primary to the prosecution of the case or the safety of all people involved.

Coonsey, you've spent the last week posting a variation of this theme, again and again. So tell us again how you voted for Obama, and how you don't think there's any "there" there...before launching into another breathless demand for "facts".

Please, before you write another blog about this, just stop yourself. Really. Just shut up. Please.

Just how long will you allow Obama to NOT do what he promised? His words NOT mine. It's been ten days now. Are you guys going to play like the Republicans did for Bush - hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil? Just because you/we voted for him doesn't make him or his people saints.

It's been ten days since what exactly? I thought the Blago was arrested on 12/9. Or are you suggesting that Obama should've released all the facts 4 days before Blago was even taken into custody?

It's obvious that Obama should have anticipated that Blags was going to get hauled into the slammer and therefore, issued a pre-emptive report on this. What's he trying to hide? I didn't vote for this.
Coonsey? I believe Obama made that statement about releasing that report on Dec. 11.
Is it now December 21?
I've lost some time, if so.

coonsey, I agree with you completely. It's just another example of Obama not keeping his promises. Didn't he promise a dog for his daughters?? Well, where is it? Biden got a puppy, but where's Obama's dog?? If Obama can lie to his own daughters, think of what he'll do as President.

For the record: Personally, I don't really care about the dog. But voters want to know!

I really hate when people/politicians use "voters want to know" or "voters deserve to know" to put politicians on the spot. Knowing full well that this has nothing to do with the voter's needs, but the need to create controversy in order to take down your competition. Most of the time, most voters don't give a shit. What voter, other than Obama's opponents/MSM/trolls, woke up this morning and placed the Blago scandal on their to-worry-about list? Not me! I have a project to turn in, resumes to send out, grocery shopping, exercise, phone calls to make - and I'm single with no kids. I can't imagine what other "voters" have to worry about.

If you testify before a grand jury you cannot discuss any of your testimony.
Under some circumstances, when you give information to the DA you may be required to keep it zipped.
You are not always free to discuss everything.
This issue was just related on a rerun of West Wing with regard to the President's MS.
I you make a statement that uses a 'we' instead of and 'I', three months later you could be cross examined before a Grand Jury as to why you said we instead of I. There are going to be five or six or ten people charged in this Illinois mess and none of them have anything to do with the Obama Administration and I don't care what Rush, or Sean or Glenn say. Those are the facts.

I apologize for the timing mistake - guess it just seems like 10 days already.
As far as being given a gag order there's no law about SAYING so. Of if lawyers need to be called in, then SAY so. Otherwise, if there is nothing to hide as we're told by Fitzgerald and Obama -- then why did he offer to give up all the facts within a few days?

I see that Obama has stated that he's been ordered not to release his investigation results till the WEEK of the 22nd by the prosecutor.
That's ALL I've ever asked for. Either give us your results or tell us why not.

Well, in any case, copying, pasting and editing what I said on another thread, how would you go about gathering those facts and how long to you think it would take to execute your plan?
No idea? yeah, That's clear.
Well here's what I'd do:
a) get the phone logs of the transition team's landlines and the call records from every member's PDA and/or cell phone and comb them for contacts with Blago or with anyone known to have been named in the indictment between the end of November and last week;
b) review all the mail server and PDA mail records for contacts with domains associated with Blago or anyone else identified in the indictment during that period;
c) and, oh yeah, look for old-fashioned paper records;
d) review all the above and try to digest it into some kind of a who did what when timeline; then, and only then,
e) personally interview each of those people about their contacts, possibly with a transcriptionist present; and finally,
f) draft a report summarizing what's been found and collating all the relevant documents into appendices.
And that's just off the top of my noggin. You think that can be done in a week or ten days? Going flat out with three or four lawyers and a couple of paralegals working full time, a good law firm could get it done in three weeks, maybe.
Assuming, that is, that its just another business I'm investigating that's willing to give my investigation top priority instead, of, say, the President-Elect of the United States preparing to take office in the middle of two wars and on the brink of the worst economic disaster since the Great Depression.
And you've got to be exhaustively thorough. If they half-ass it, they will miss something that will come back to bite them in the ass later. Either they'll confidently make some statement that they have to walk back later when someone leaks the undiscovered facts to the MSM or there will be some minor omission that, because it was omitted, is turned into the smoking gun that proves there's some kind of cover-up going on.

Coonsey, you are such a fuckwit.
You know nothing about federal prosecutors or criminal proceedings of any kind.
Fitzgerald does not want information made public before his office has had a chance to look at it because Blago's lawyer reads the papers, too. There might be something in the review evidence that links to something else Fitz is looking at - we don't know. He doesn't know so he wants to read the shit first, like any good lawyer would, Coonsey.

You made me laugh again TenaX! Fuckwit, yeah that's it. Sometimes hitting the nail on the head is really funny. Someone tell Dickday.
Maybe Coonsey is just trying to be funny when he persists in saying that Obama should release the his investigation report NOW. Could be, maybe, don'ja think?
