What if Obama Loses? What will Happen?

What if John McCain wins the November 4th election? What happens if he wins by just one state as in the previous presidential elections? What happens if Barack Obama wins the popular vote but loses the electoral vote? Exactly how will Americans react to yet another unforeseen result on their Election Day?

Let's take a quick look at what the polls are telling Americans today. According to Realclearpolitics.com, there is not one national poll that shows Senator John McCain ahead. When it comes to the usual battleground states (Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Nevada, North Carolina and Indiana) not one poll has John McCain ahead as of 4 days away from Election Day.

Let's look at how Americans feel about President George W. Bush and his administration's actions over the past 8 years. Bush currently has about a 30% approval rating. According to a CBS poll, 81% of Americans feel the country is headed in the wrong direction. McCain's approval ratings are around 52% and Obama's is 64% according to an ABC poll.

Now let's compare the rallies that Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain appear at. According to the media stories, it is Barack Obama that gets 10's of thousands of voters to show up, whereas John McCain is lucky to get a few thousand (unless he has Governor Sarah Palin with him, then there's more - but nothing compared to Obama's rallies).

Let's also look at who from the other side is supporting the enemy sort of speak. John McCain has gained Independent Joe Lieberman and a speech writer named Wendy Button from the Democrat side. Senator Obama has Jim Leach, Lincoln Chafee, Douglas W. Kmiec, Jackson Andrews, John Martin, Francis Fukuyama and Colin Powell just to name a few.

What Republicans have had favorable comments about Obama: Peggy Noonan, George Will, Rich Lowry and William Bennett to name just a few. These same folks had unfavorable comments toward McCain.

According to the media and political pundits, Barack Obama, barring any major development or scandal showing up, will win on Tuesday with anywhere from 280-320 electoral votes.

Going back to the original question, how will supporters of Barack Obama feel if he loses narrowly? What will they do about it, if anything? I'm afraid to say it but because of previous losses and they way they were supposedly 'lost', and because of the things Obama's supporters have been told for the past two months where things stood in the election, I'm almost certain there will be riots and people getting hurt.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating violence; I'm afraid of it happening.

It won't just be 'just' another political loss. Voters will feel cheated in a huge way. They will feel lied to by the media, the political pundits and the 'other side'. They will not believe any so-called 'facts' that are later reported.

Those 'newly' registered voters that actually voted will most likely refuse to ever vote again. They won't trust the system. I know I won't and I've been voting for 40 years now.

If Obama's losing, I sure hope polls start showing that BEFORE Election Day instead of once again getting voter's hopes up and then just knocking them down once again.

Rachel Interviews Obama Tonight!

Don't forget, Rachel Maddow on MSNBC at 8pm central time will be interviewing Barack Obama one on one.

Bill Clinton and Al Gore - The Finishing Touch

Barack Obama had former President Bill Clinton campaigning for him this week and now we hear that former VP Al Gore will finish out the week for Obama in Florida.

Having Bill Clinton and Al Gore come out AFTER Obama has more than PROVEN that he CAN WIN without them; but would love their support anyway ---- is a VERY SMART MOVE by Barack Obama!

Yes he's had Hillary Clinton out there; but almost every Presidential candidate will have their primary opponents' campaign for them (McCain has Romney, Huckabee and Giuliani), and they most certainly help a great deal.  But Obama did not have Bill and Al out there pushing for votes for him since June.  By not doing so, he's been able to prove that it was his own message that resonated with the voters not previous leaders.

Asking Bill and Al to join him in finishing this campaign, is not only giving them the respect they deserve, it also gives Obama a last minute 'nudge' or 'finishing touch' if you will, for any undecided voters.

Barack Obama sir, you have run an amazing campaign.  I congratulate you all!

Big Lots Using Palin's Image? Who is the Celebrity Now?

McCain plans on running his Celebrity Ad again about Obama.  Yeh, I guess he is a celebrity of sorts.  He seems to be the only one running for President that is being targeted for killing.

If anybody is a celebrity it's Sarah Palin -- even the store Big Lots is now using her image/glasses for their advertising.  Check out their Ad (bottom left corner).

A 'Game' Out Weighs Our Country Senator McCain?

John McCain is recorded saying the following:

"He's planned his first address to the nation -- an infomercial. By the way, I will never delay the start of the World Series for an infomercial."

Joke or not, this statement is outrageous!

Our economy is tanking, we are bailing out businesses and banks, we have two major wars going on, our dependence on oil has gone through the roof and our environment is getting worse every day.

Is Senator John McCain, the 'want-to-be' future President of United States, saying that a ballgame is more important then letting the American people know what he will do for them and their nation's troubles?  A game is more important then letting Americans know that you know they are suffering and that you are planning on trying to help them?

A 'game' out weighs "Our Country First", Senator?

Rachel Will Interview Barack Obama on Thursday

Rachel Maddow reported tonight that she will be one on one with Barack Obama this coming Thursday night.

Wahoo Rachel!

I was hoping you'd get that chance and that Obama would choose to come on your show.

All I ask is, don't do anything that will hurt his chances next Tuesday.  I don't think it would help the ratings of your show if you did so this late in the game.

Don't get me wrong.  I know you can give a good report and interview.  I know you can get to the truth or I wouldn't be watching your new show.  However, trying to trip Obama up some how at this stage in the game would most likely ruin you as well as hurt him.

Good luck and have fun.

Joe the plumber Stumping for McCain? He represents the Middle Class - NOT

I hear that Joe the Plumber is going to be stumping for Senator John McCain this week.  How nice.  The guy is behind in paying his taxes and he doesn't even have a license to be a plumber but he's representing plumbers across America?

Senator Barack Obama needs to get middle class Mom's and Dads (families) to stump for him.  He needs to get several families up on the stage telling folks how much of a tax break they will get under Obama.

He could also include a few small business people telling how much they will get in tax cuts.

Don't Fear for Obama's Life; If Bush Survived 8 yrs with all that hate, anybody can.

Federal prosecutors charged two men with plotting a "killing spree" against African-Americans that would have been capped with an attempt to kill Sen. Barack Obama while they wore white tuxedos, federal officials said Monday.

The U.S. attorney's office in Jackson, Tennessee, said Daniel Cowart, 20, and Paul Schlesselman, 18, were self-described white supremacists who met online through a mutual friend.

Both men have been charged with illegal possession of a sawed-off shotgun, conspiracy to rob a federally licensed gun dealer and making threats against a presidential candidate.

The men planned to kill more than 100 African-Americans, including 14 who would be beheaded, according to the affidavit.

I wonder why we're just now hearing about this story, just 8 days till Election Day?

Cowart and Schlesselman were arrested outside Jackson, about 75 miles east of Memphis, Tennessee, after an aborted robbery attempt last week, according to court records.

Though they told investigators they would be willing to die in their mission, the men backed out of their October 21 attempt to rob the gun dealer after spotting two cars and a dog at the home, the affidavit states.

This happened last week or even later, and yet a week before voters go to the polls, we hear Breaking News about it.

What's the quickest way to get the black voters NOT to vote?  Scare them into believing their man they support may be killed.  That was one of their major reasons for holding back during the primary -- fear that he would be targeted.

Hopefully, all voters will think for a second about George W. Bush and how much he is hated or disliked across the world, not just the U.S..  If he survived for 8 years with all that hate....anybody can.

What if Republicans Controlled White House another 4 Years?

Senator Barack Obama is suppose to give his Closing Arguments today in Ohio.  This is a good idea, however, why not do what Senator John McCain is doing only in the reverse.

McCain and Palin are pushing the what if scenario to voters.  What if Congress gets a filibusterer majority and what if Barack Obama gets the presidency -- Democrats would control everything.

Perhaps Obama should tell voters 'what if' Republicans controlled the White House for another 4 years.  Tell them what 'could' happen.  Tell them we could have 4 more years of spending, no health insurance, across the board cuts, privatized social security, no environment changes, very little middle class assistance, more years in Iraq and Afganistan and no change in regulating companies, banks and imports like food and toys from China.

Let Americans know what they will allow to happen if they vote for McCain/Palin.

Palin Going 'Rogue' in a 'GOP Civil War'?

Sounds like some science fiction movie doesn't it?  In reality members of Senator John McCain's campaign are telling reporters that Governor Sarah Palin,

HuffingtonPost.com reports that,

Politico's Ben Smith reports on the internal tensions that are roiling the McCain campaign, with many Palin allies voicing their unhappiness at how the campaign has been run. According to Smith, there are now "stirrings of a Palin insurgency." Some of the highlights:

Four Republicans close to Palin said she has decided increasingly to disregard the advice of the former Bush aides tasked to handle her, creating occasionally tense situations as she travels the country with them. Those Palin supporters, inside the campaign and out, said Palin blames her handlers for a botched rollout and a tarnished public image -- even as others in McCain's camp blame the pick of the relatively inexperienced Alaska governor, and her public performance, for McCain's decline.

"She's lost confidence in most of the people on the plane," said a senior Republican who speaks to Palin, referring to her campaign jet. He said Palin had begun to "go rogue" in some of her public pronouncements and decisions.[...]

In the Telegraph.co.uk, Tim Shipman says,

David Frum, a former Bush speechwriter, told The Sunday Telegraph that Republicans should now concentrate all their fire on "the need for balanced government".

"It's hard to see a turnaround in the White House race," he said. "This could look like an ideological as well as a party victory if we're not careful. It could be 1980 in reverse.

"With this huge new role for federal government in the economy, the possibility for mischief making is very, very great. One man should not have a monopoly of political and financial power. That's very dangerous."

A private memo on the likely result of the congressional elections, leaked to Politico, has the Republicans losing 37 seats.

Ed Rollins, who masterminded Ronald Reagan's second victory in 1984, said the election is already over and predicted: "This is going to turn into a landslide."

A former White House official who still advises President Bush told The Sunday Telegraph: "McCain hasn't won independents, nor has he inspired the base. It's the worst of all worlds. He is dragging everyone else down with him. He needs to deploy people and money to salvage what we can in Congress."

With all this news, you get the feeling the Republican Party is in disarray and is 'giving up' huh?  You couldn't be more wrong.  The "former White House official said it best, "He needs to deploy people and money to salvage what we can in Congress."

They are doing what they do best, rallying the troops.

What gets the Republicans stirred up faster than tax increases?  The very idea that the Democratic Party could be completely in charge of Congress and the White House --simply enrages them.

These leaks of information to reporters and the political pundits are a Karl Rove strategy played over and over again.  Make it appear to voters that 'all is lost', scare the troops.  Trick or Treat?

In 2002, 2004 and 2006 elections, Rove used the fear of terrorism to get voters to vote for George W Bush, Republican Representatives and Senators.  That's not working (unless we have another convenient video from Bin Laden soon) this time around.  The wanting change, the economy, losing your job or business are trumping that fear this time around.  So, the next best thing, scare them into believing a divided government is better than a one Party led government.

The story about Palin going 'rogue' is a stunt.  Polls show that she is a drag on John McCain's campaign because Republicans don't believe she's ready.  In other words, Governor Palin needs to appear more like a leader.  What's the best way to do that?  Make it look like she's taking charge of her own campaign.  This 'rogue' story is a last minute ditch to try and show their base that she indeed, is ready to be President on day one.

Ed Rollings and David Frum are playing the worker bee's part.  They appear to be disillusioned with the McCain campaign and the Party - when in fact; they are the ones trying to scare the voters that believe a one Party government is bad -- into voting Republican.

I sincerely hope that voters don't fall into their trap again.  We need 'change' - across the board change!
