He wants to hike the dividend tax, and he also has promised taxes on gas and energy.

Obama also wants to dramatically increase the estate tax, which had almost disappeared. There goes your idea of sharing your wealth with your kids in the future.

Obama Lie No. 3 -- I want to make America
more secure.

In an age when crazies like Iran 's Ahmadinejad are building ballistic missiles and promise to "destroy" the United States and Israel , Obama has promised to gut the missile defense program created by President Reagan.

"I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems," Obama said.

He has promised to cut "tens of billions" of dollars from the Defense Department. In an effort to make us more "secure," Obama plans to disarm us.

Barack Obama is running a 30 minute ad on October 29^th at 7pm central time.  I have no idea what it will show us but I guess we can assume he will be talking about the issues and what his vision is for the next 4 years with respects to economy, Iraq, health care, environment,  etc...

 

I'm hoping however, he starts the video by showing American's how he 'came to be'.  Where he came from, what schools he attended, what awards and jobs he's held, perhaps even have a few well known supporters speak about him; but he absolutely MUST show his family.

The ad cannot and should not be all about Issues.  Viewers will get bored.  It needs a little humor, sadness and vision.  Show clips of his traveling across the nation.

 

He must also show pictures of his mom and talk about how she suffered in the end with health care and insurance and his feelings for her, his dad, grandma and grandpa, uncles, aunts, brothers, sister, etc... 

Close to the end, he should show the most heart warming video possible of him, Michelle and the girls just being family and having fun.

 

At the very end he should thank Americans for giving him this opportunity to run and say something like, "Only in America can my life happen."

The John McCain camp is making hay over what Joe Biden said last week about Barack Obama being 'tested' within the first 6 months of his administration.  Well, it appears that Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff agrees:

Terrorists may see the change to a new U.S. president over the next six months as a prime chance to attack, no matter who wins the White House, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said.

"Any period of transition creates a greater vulnerability, meaning there's more likelihood of distraction," Chertoff said in an interview yesterday. "You have to be concerned it will create an operational opportunity for terrorists."

I'd like to remind folks of the year 2001.  George W Bush took over as President in January of that year.  It was sometime in May that Condi Rice or George Tenet - I believe it was that got first word of a high alert for possible terrorism in U.S..

It was later on August 6th, while Bush and everybody went on vacation and while we were under the highest ALERT then ever before that Bush read the NIE report with the headline of "Osama Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the U.S.", that mention hijackings of airplanes.

President Bush did nothing - stayed on vacation in Texas.

It was exactly 36 days later we were hit by terrorists while Bush sat in a school room class listening to a child story for a full seven minutes (after being told the WTC had been hit) before finally getting up and leaving.

Yes a president will be tested -- no matter who they are.  It's how they respond to that test that matters.

You might want to watch the video of Bush's Reaction to 9/11 again -- it's amazing when you think about what he COULD HAVE BEEN DOING instead of just sitting there.

Oh...and don't forget about China and our airplane landing there.  It went on for a couple of weeks, yet not too long after getting our soldiers back, Bush goes has dinner with their leader.  That was his first SHOW.

I heard a few commentators last night, Republican of course, accusing voters of voting for Barack Obama merely because he is black and it would mean history making.

I was wondering why nobody thought to mention that why couldn't the same be said about those voting for John McCain and Sarah Palin?  She'd be the first female VP a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

I also heard a couple of these commentators repeat, again, that Obama didn't wear a flag pin until he was forced to.  Yet no mention that John McCain rarely wears one.

Are there any exit polling going on with the Early Voters across the nation?  I just listened to a story on MSNBC about Florida voters voting early.  They estimate at least 50% of voters will vote early.

I'm just curious if it's legal to ask and report results of exit polling of early voters.  Anybody know?

I strongly recommend that Barack Obama visit The Rachel Maddow show on MSNBC.  She's more than doubled her viewers on her time slot.  Which means thousands are tuning into to see what she's like.

Barack would not only be helping himself, he'd be helping a fellow Democrat (or at the least an Independent) -- Rachel.

I also recommend that he have Maria Shriver appear in Florida and Ohio, perhaps Colorado and Indiana. 

She co-anchored the CBS Morning News with Forrest Sawyer from 1985 until 1987, co-anchored Sunday Today and weekend editions of NBC Nightly News from 1987 until 1989, and was a contributing anchor on Dateline NBC from 1989 until 2004.

All that means is, she has supporters between the ages of 50 and older that use to love watching her.  She could help Obama in that age bracket which McCain currently controls.

Go for it Obama.

I heard Maria Shriver, Governor Schwarzenegger's wife say on Larry King Live CNN last night that she would be more than happy to do whatever Barack Obama's camp would ask of her to do for his campaign.  Well Obama - USE her.

Maria was a well known commentator and reporter back in the 80 and 90s.  Many of us older folks remember and liked her.  She's also Ted Kennedy's niece.

Get her to campaign in Florida for the seniors vote and in Ohio for the Democrat/Independent voters.  She might even pull in some Republican's because of her husband being one.

USE HER IMMEDIATELY!

First off I want to remind you all that I am 100% behind Barack Obama for President.  I've already voted for him here in Illinois.

Barack Obama's campaign has announced that because of his grandma's illness being "serious", he will travel to Hawaii Thurs and Friday to visit with her.

I have to ask -- why wait?  If this 86 year old lady is so ill to be considered (taking a turn for the worse), why is Obama waiting to go see her?  Shouldn't he and Michelle get on the plane right now and go there?

Then on MSNBC Rachel Maddow's show just now, it was reported that Michelle will stay and take Obama's place in the areas he was to campaign at on Thurs and Friday.

Why if grandma is so ill, is Michelle staying behind?  Shouldn't the whole family go see her?

I'm sorry but I'm sure some Republican is going to ask these questions and end up accusing Obama of USING his grandma for sympathy votes.

Obama's camp needs to give a reason for this delay.  Either grandma isn't 'taking a turn for the worse' and Obama just wants to take time to see her while he can -- or she is getting worse and he's risking being able to see her before it happens.  Which is it?

I realize this is the presidential campaign and that he has a duty to his nation; but allowing the man to see his grandma (his replacement mother) before something happens is only human.  If anything, it could give him more votes (not sympathy) --why you ask?  Because the voters will see the picture of Obama's WHITE grandparents and be reminded that he's half white and was raised by a white Christian family.

While God forbid anything happen to Obama's grandma, I would think politically, this would help -- not hurt him.  So why isn't he leaving IMMEDIATELY? 

I'm personally sure that Obama, would rather LOSE the Election then lose his grandma.

Gallup Poll Daily tracking now gives Barack Obama an 11 percentage point lead over John McCain in the presidential vote preferences of all registered voters, 52% to 41%. Obama still leads, but by single digits, among "traditional" and "expanded" likely voters.

I think it would be hilarious to see a bunch of plumbers OR electricians OR waitresses OR janitors come forward as a group to take on John McCain and Sarah Palin.

They could point out that they like Barack Obama's plans for the economy and health care. 

They could tell McCain/Plain to quit USING them to score political points.  They could say that they only have one house and one kitchen table to do their bills at.  They could ask McCain where he was when they needed him for the past 8 years? 

It sure would be a MEDIA grabber if handled correctly.

McCain's camp is USING the media as a tool to KEEP the name Ayers in the limelight.  They don't even have to bring him up -- the media does it FOR THEM.

The media needs to STOP making news and allow the candidates to do that.

Wouldn't it be funny to see a video to be run on Halloween made by Barack Obama's team?

 

Someone with a lot better imagination than I could come up with the perfect one depicting the current campaign environment with a little humor added.

 

You the viewer are the camera.  I picture John McCain as the vampire that turns into a bat and can 'flip flop' (flys) away.  I see William Ayers or Reverend Wright as ghosts of the past and I see Sarah Palin as the wicked witch (she could also pass as a Mummy (mums the word).  I see the President Bush as the economy (a dollar bill) and a CEO as the Devil.  Bush could also pass as something to do with war but I can't picture what that would be other than Death.  Perhaps Cheney would be good for that part?

 

Imagine for example a Vampire introducing himself (perhaps McCain) while standing in front of a mirror.  The mirror of course doesn't show the vampire's image (McCain ignoring his own promises).  "Welcome to my side of the world", he says.  "Don't be afraid 'my friends', I only wish to 'drink' you...I mean have a drink with you (while rubbing his hands together mischievously).    Allow me to make you feel 'right at home here', say hello to my other guests.  I'll be right back."  Off he goes 'flip flopping' away like a bat.

 

Upon entering the living room you see a ghost of the past (William Ayers or Reverend Wright?) floating around nearby.  Weird music is playing in the background, "Hello, do I know you?" he says.

 

About the same time, in walks a wicked witch (Sarah Palin) with her broom.  "I see you're still pallin' around with your friend the 'ghost'", she says.

 

In walks Bush the dollar bill, "I'm not real, I just spend".  Last but not least the Devil walks in and says (while rubbing his hands together mischievously) -where's the money?

 

Death of course glides into the room slowly - saying nothing.

 

In walks the Angel (or Messiah) - Barack Obama to save the day.  "Let me show you the way", he says. 

 

They all turn toward YOU the camera and the Angel says - Happy Halloween!  Trick or TREAT?

John McCain is attacking Barack Obama for saying that he wants to "Spread the wealth around" to Joe the Plumber awhile back.

John McCain has once again 'changed' his tune or 'Flip Flopped' as some would call it.

In 2000, 2001, and 2003, McCain argued against Bush's tax cuts that "mostly benefit the wealthy":

"There's one big difference between me and the others-I won't take every last dime of the surplus and spend it on tax cuts that mostly benefit the wealthy." [McCain campaign commercial, January 2000]

"I am disappointed that the Senate Finance Committee preferred instead to cut the top tax rate of 39.6% to 36%, thereby granting generous tax relief to the wealthiest individuals of our country at the expense of lower- and middle-income American taxpayers." [McCain Senate floor statement, May 21, 2001]

"But when you look at the percentage of the tax cuts that-as the previous tax cuts-that go to the wealthiest Americans, you will find that the bulk of it, again, goes to wealthiest Americans." [NBC's "Today," Jan. 7, 2003]

These comments make you wonder why the change of tune?  Why aren't the media asking for the 'truth' from Senator John McCain. 

When will John McCain explain why he either LIED about his feelings back in 2000, 2001 and 2003 or he's lying now?
