Karl Rove Said 3 years as Governor by Kaine was Undistinguishable (Mayor of small city)

The following are parts of an article written By Greg Mitchell Palin Comparison? Karl Rove on CBS Had Mocked Obama Considering Kaine for Veep-- Only Governor 'For 3 Years'

Appearing on CBS's Face the Nation less than three weeks ago, Republican strategist Karl Rove singled out Virginia Governor Tim Kaine, who was on Obama's short list.

With all due respect again to Governor Kaine, he's been a governor for three years, he's been able but undistinguished," Rove said.

Rove also said: I don't think people could really name a big, important thing that he's done. He was mayor of the 105th largest city in America.

He added, So if he were to pick Governor Kaine, it would be an intensely political choice where he said, `You know what? I'm really not, first and foremost, concerned with -- is this person capable of being president of the United States?

I think he's going to make an intensely political choice, not a governing choice,' Rove said. 'He's going to view this through the prism of a candidate, not through the prism of president; that is to say, he's going to pick somebody that he thinks will on the margin help him in a state like Indiana or Missouri or Virginia. He's not going to be thinking big and broad about the responsibilities of president.

Palin has been governor of Alaska for less than two years. Palin was formerly mayor of a town that only has a population of about 9000.  Palin is under investigation by a special prosecutor for supposedly having her ex brother-in-law fired.

Talk about putting Foot in Mouth – Karl Rove did so -- Big Time. These comments need to be in an Obama ad – IMMEDIATELY or the day after the GOP Convention. The Ad should tell Americans what Karl Rove really thinks about a move such as John McCain just made by nominating Sarah Palin as his VP choice.

John McCain Failed his First Act as GOP's Presidential Nominee

A presidential nominee’s first major decision as their Party’s nominee is who they pick to be their Vice President if they should be honored enough to win the election in November.

John McCain’s choice for VP, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, has been in office for a little over a year.  Before that she was a Mayor of city with the population of about 9000 and she is currently facing questions about whether she used her office to try and fire her ex -brother-in-law from a state trooper's position.  Palin asserts the charge is untrue, but the Alaska Senate this week approved the hiring of an independent investigator to look into the allegation.

On the flip side of things, Barack Obama’s first decision as the Democrat’s presidential nominee was to pick a man with years of experience in both foreign and domestic policy issues.  Someone that President George W. Bush ask for advice from right after 9/11, someone that the President of Georgia asked to talk to when his nation was being invaded by Russia.

Joe Biden has been chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, head of the Judiciary Committee, with its jurisdiction over anti-crime legislation, Supreme Court nominees and Constitutional issues.  He wrote the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994.  Biden authored and passed the landmark Violence Against Women Act.  To this day, Senator Joe Biden, travels several hours a day, back and forth by train, from his Washington office to his home in Wilmington Delaware just so that he can be with his family.

John McCain has attacked Barack Obama from day one for his lack of experience, yet John McCain’s very first act as the Republican presidential nominee is to choose a person that has zero experience in foreign policy issues and former Mayor of a small city.

That does not compute Senator McCain.

John McCain has just Insulted Women Across this Great Nation

By choosing Governor Sarah Palin as his VP, John McCain is being presumptuous in assuming that, Hillary Clinton’s women supporters and other women will automatically flock over to his side like a bunch of chicks rushing for chicken feed.

Before I get yelled at for that statement – I mean no insult to women.  I am a woman.  In fact, I’m trying to stand up for women voters across this great nation.  It is John McCain that is insulting the intelligence of women voters.

By picking Sarah Palin, McCain is assuming that women will rush over to his team - simply on the basis of Palin being a woman. He’s saying that the women that voted for Hillary Clinton didn’t care about what her policy views or future plans; all they cared about was -- she was a female.

McCain is being presumptuous by assuming that because Palin is a woman, women of all ages will be 'so excited to vote for a woman' that they will ignore what comes inside the package deal.

You can put a new coat of paint on an old car, you can put a new set of tires on it, you can put shiny new chrome on the front and back of that old car – but when the buyer puts the key in the ignition and the car won’t turn over – they won’t buy that car.

There were those that assumed that Barack Obama would get the African American votes simply because he was black; but they were wrong.  African Americans didn't start voting for Barack Obama, in the millions, till he was able to prove to them that he had what it would take to lead this nation to better days.

You can make the package attractive John McCain, but it’s what’s inside that package that counts.

McCain's Past - Research it

A quick suggestion to whomever reads this.  John McCain has to campaign in Arizona or he wouldn't still be a Senator.

Looking at his CURRENT push for POW status and claim to fame -- did he ever accuse another soldier of using his FAME to gain in politics?

Did he ever attack anther person for their use of their past fame?

Somebody with the research capabilities might be able to find something to bounce back at McCain on his POW military USE in politics.

McCain will pick ???? for his VP

My prediction:

Senator John McCain will choose Mayor Rudy Giuliani as his VP nominee.

Why you might ask?  What is McCain's major problem right now?  George W Bush and McCain's voting with Bush a full 95% of the time.  Not only on foreign policy issues but domestic issues as well.

Senator Barack Obama has been successful so far painting McCain as McBUSH.  John McCain needs to stop that wave.

He needs a man that at least 'appears' to be more liberal, pro-choice, less 'perfect' morally -- then most Republicans.

He needs a man that people trust and love because of 9/11.

In the beginning I felt sure that the GOP would pick Mike Huckabee as their nominee, then I felt sure McCain would pick him as his VP.  I still feel Huckabee would get the most votes in November out of any Republican.  People LIKE him and LIKE hearing him talk.

That being said, Huckabee doesn't seem to be liked by conservatives.  Lucky for Democrats.

Rudy Guilini will be McCain's nominee for VP.  Bet on it.

Heads Up Democrats -- Economy is doing Well According to Bush Admin

No Recession After All?

A revised reading on gross domestic product announced Thursday showed much better U.S. economic growth than previously reported for the second quarter.

GDP, the broadest measure of the nation’s economic activity, stood at an annual rate of 3.3% in the quarter, adjusted for inflation, the Commerce Department said.

Economic growth between 2.5% and 3.5% is typically viewed as the norm for a healthy economy.

The revised result surpassed last month’s initial estimate of 1.9%. It also surprised economists surveyed by Briefing.com who expected a revision to 2.7%.

Just as I reported a month or so ago, the recession happened last year (in my opinion). The economy is now said to be doing ‘normal’.

Just in time for November’s Election Day, so watch out Dems.

What would you like to bet that sometime in November, after the 4th of course, we’ll get another ‘revised’ reading saying it was lower then reported in August?

Keep in mind folks – Bush people run the Commerce Department. They can manipulate the numbers anyway they like — like everything else they’ve done.

The key is – how do you ‘feel’ about the economy? Are you unemployed? Are there jobs available? Did you get a raise?  Are you paying more for health insurance?

Look in your local paper – do you see less than 5-7 ads for jobs? If the answer is yes – the economy isn’t doing so hot. Those are your best readings.

Meanwhile, Democrats Heads Up!  Iraq and war may be the 'story' in late October.

McCain - Take a Snooze till Nov, You Haven't Got a Chance Now, Dems Are Fired Up!

It appears that Senator John McCain is running scared.  He's going to announce his VP selection just hours after Senator Barack Obama makes his acceptance speech in Denver at the Mile High stadium.

Senator John McCain has decided on his running mate, two Republican strategists in contact with McCain's campaign said Wednesday. He is expected to reveal his choice at a rally at a basketball arena in Dayton, Ohio, at 11 a.m. Friday.

I have expected him to release his/her name during Obama's speech only to try and take away some of the steam Obama's generated with his convention.

The McCain camp is so insecure about their candidate they feel the need to crash the party of the Democrats.

That's ok.  I think now that the convention is over and Democrats are ready to ROLL --- McCain may as well sit in his recliner (at whichever home he chooses), put up his feet and snooze till November's election day --because he's not got a chance of winning this thing (short of causing a terrorist attack or digging up more trash talk about Obama and his family).

I Plead Guilty!

I plead guilty!

Yes I’m guilty of enjoying hearing political commentators finally take on Fox for their right wing attacks on Democrats.  We’ve seen for years now how Fox has been the Bush administration and the Republican Party’s lap dogs – while all along claiming to be “Fair and Balanced”.

Yes I’m also guilty of enjoying hearing political commentators finally take on the Democratic and Republican Party establishments.

Yes I plead guilty of enjoying see the Bush administration take hits for all their lies and distortions on facts.

Yes I love MSNBC, especially Hardball with Chris Matthews and Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow, and yes I even at times I enjoyed the Verdict with Dan Abrams.

Giving credit where credit is due, Keith Olbermann was the first commentator in all of cable talk shows to gain enough backbone to take on the conservatives and those that put out talking points to pass along lies or distortions – yes even during the Democratic Primary between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

We were always being given one side’s story or view.  They (right wingers and liars) accused the media and pundits of being Liberals and unpatriotic -- the media swallowed the bait.  To be fair - Americans as a whole swallowed the bait too – for awhile anyway.

Then out of nowhere Keith Olbermann appears on his white horse with shining armor – his Special Comments.  He hit the enemy right between the eyes.  It was such a relief to hear the ‘other’ side of the story for once.

Bravo! Bravo! Keith.  The Blogs went wild – still do at times.

But….lately I’ve noticed a few bloggers pulling back.  Saying the commentators are going overboard.  They’re starting to tell Keith to save his special comments for more ‘special’ occasions instead of seemingly weekly reports.

In the past couple of weeks I’ve noticed that Chris Matthews and Keith are both making comments totally one sided.  Exactly the opposite of what FOX does, only the other side’s view.

Perhaps they feel they need to give the ‘other’ side’s story – in other words, compete with FOX’s Hannity & Colmes or Bill O’Reilly’s show.

While being a Democrat and supporter of Barack Obama, I have loved their comments lately; but having ‘been there, done that’ and knowing how frustrating it can be – perhaps they should be more open minded a bit.

Perhaps they shouldn’t allow themselves to be lap dogs like Fox has over the years.

Perhaps they should be more Fair and Balanced?

Not too much mind ya -- just a bit

Increase In National Guard and Reserves Activated?

What's with the increase in National Guard and reserve being activated?  For the past two month the number has been a decrease of around 500...now it's up by 4519?

This week the Army and Coast Guard announced an increase, while the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps announced a decrease. The net collective result is 4,519 more reservists activated than last week.               At any given time, services may activate some units and individuals while deactivating others, making it possible for these figures to either increase or decrease.  The total number currently on active duty from the Army National Guard and Army Reserve is 84,721; Navy Reserve, 5,799; Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve, 11,395; Marine Corps Reserve, 8,057; and the Coast Guard Reserve, 741. This brings the total National Guard and Reserve personnel who have been activated to 110,713, including both units and individual augmentees.

Bush Asked for Advice from Biden after 9/11?

This will be SHORT and to the point.

Politico reports the following:

Biden is wrench in McCain's VP choice

During his service in the Senate, Biden has become a respected voice on foreign affairs. President Bush called him for advice after the Sept. 11 attacks.

Why isn't this being USED in the Obama's campaign ads -- or is it and I've missed it?

Is Hillary Unfit To Be Commander-n-Chief Senator McCain?

CNN is reporting the following comments by a McCain spokesperson:

Sen. Clinton ran her presidential campaign making clear that Barack Obama is not prepared to lead as commander in chief.

Nowhere tonight did she alter that assessment. Nowhere tonight did she say that Barack Obama is ready to lead," McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds said in a statement. "Millions of Hillary Clinton supporters and millions of Americans remain concerned about whether Barack Obama is ready to be president."

If Hillary Clinton truly felt that Barack Obama was not READY to be president, asking her fellow Americans to go ahead and vote FOR HIM -- wouldn't she then be proving herself UNFIT to be President in the future?

If you feel a person is truly unfit to run your nation, yet you choose to ignore those feelings for self preservation -- do you think that person should every DESERVE to be a considered for office again?

Is John McCain saying that Hillary Clinton is lying or not telling the whole truth to Americans?  Is John McCain saying that Hillary Clinton is UNFIT -- to someday be commander-n-chief?

Women Voters? What About Men Voters?

I was asked to REPOST this - so here it is:

Women now make up more than half of the electorate, but only 60 percent of this demographic voted in 2004’s presidential election.

There’s a story on MSNBC about Women Opting to Stay Home on Election Day.  The story has people saying the following for reasons women stay home:

Ramos, a mother of two and legal assistant, said she did not have time. And she's even busier this year.

“Women are shouldering tremendous responsibility, all kinds of pressure,” said Ruth Mandel, head of the Center for the American Woman and Politics and Rutgers University Eagleton Institute, on why female turnout may not be higher.
“It often comes down to the fact that they are busy, trying to make ends meet, trying to work and also care for their children,” said Garcia, who works in Denver.

Garcia said that most low-income women she tries to register want candidates for public office to talk more about family friendly workplace policies, paid sick days and changes in welfare policy.

“They don’t hear these talked about enough,” she said.

“I generally feel like the candidates address issues that get them the most votes across the board,”

Some think one of the reasons millions of women don’t vote is because they can’t relate to candidates.

Sen. Hillary Clinton’s candidacy stirred enthusiasm among many female voters who felt they could relate to her.

I’m sorry but once again they are giving Hillary credit when it’s not due her.  Hillary Clinton got where she did mostly because of ‘who’ she was, not ‘what’ she was.

She is a wife, former first lady of a former 'well like' President of U.S...  That’s it - Period.  Without that benefit she would have most likely ended up like Geraldine Ferraro and Carol Mosely-Braun; Just another woman trying to break the glass ceiling.

To answer those of you saying that Barack Obama got the same benefit from being black - not in the beginning.

African Americans refused to vote for him for many reasons.  They didn’t think he’d have a chance or he’d get killed if he tried or he’d be blamed for America’s troubles that the Republicans started and they didn’t want that for the first black president.

Only after African Americans saw that whites and Latinos were supporting Obama – did they join up with him in droves.

Lastly – what about men voters.  The report says only 60% of women voted in 2004.  What was the percentage of men that voted?  Why didn’t ‘they’ vote?

Barack Obama and Joe Biden have a Huge Hurdle To Jump Now

Michelle Obama as I reported last night, showed Americans with her speech about Barack, her children and her their lives to the Democratic Convention that she would be in their history books in the future -- and 'not' just because of her husband the future President of United States; but because of her own strengths and convictions.

Hillary Clinton tonight made a terrific speech too.  She too captured the attention of the crowd, grabbed their hearts and minds with her words.  She used her words carefully and with conviction.  While she made a point of talking about her campaign -- she did her level best to convince people to vote for Barack Obama.  She told the story of a true Democrat that loves their country.

I have one last comment.  After seeing both Michelle and Hillary speak -- Barack Obama and Joe Biden have got one huge job on their hands to come up with speeches to even come close to competing with, what must be, two of the best speakers I've ever listen to.

Good Luck Obama -- you've got a lot of work ahead of you.

Barack Obama WILL win in Nov -- Hillary Clinton is NOT his LIFELINE

Need I remind you of the polls showing that Obama ALREADY has gained the support of over 60% of Hillary Clinton supporters just since June.

According to you guys back then Obama might not be able to get them back. Hillary Clinton needs to attack John McCain -- Barack Obama's candidacy does not RELY on Hillary Clinton's 23% of voters that are still angry. When push comes to serve - - if they truly believe in Democratic principles, they will NOT vote for John McCain in November. Plain fact.

You in the media are making it sound as though without HILLARY -- Barack Obama cannot win --- YOU ARE WRONG!  Hillary is NOT Obama's LIFE LINE.

What will be your news cycle Nov 5th?  Barack Obama ONLY WON because HILLARY helped him???

Give me a break.  Barack will win because VOTERS across America want change!

Census Bureau - Drop in Uninsured --

MSNBC reports: Census Bureau says 45.7 million lack health insurance, down from 47 million a year earlier.

The Census Bureau reports that the number of people lacking health insurance dropped by more than 1 million in 2007, the first annual decline since the Bush administration took office.

Guess what happening folks?.  Insurance and pharmaceutical companies are getting wise.

Just as the Bush administration did towards North Korea, Iran, Pakistan and now Iraq after it became clear that Barack Obama was gaining momentum with voters on his judgments of talking to Iran and North Korea one on one, to go after high value targets in Pakistan if Pakistan does not act and to come up with a timetable for a safe withdraw from Iraq.

Insurance and pharmaceutical companies are wising up to the fact that the Democrats will be taking complete control in January 2009.  They are wising up to the fact that universal health care will be forced upon them.

Because of those facts, they’ve decided to grab what they can now.  Get customers locked into health plans at higher rates than what they would be if the customer waited for Obama’s universal health care plan.

They also decided to get some of those uninsured folks off the books so as to be able to claim that private industry is solving the problem without government intervention.  Gives them a television ad to air – “1 million less than in 2007”, they’ll say.

Last but not least, the new census gives the Republicans the bragging rights of dropping the number of those that are uninsured.

So the question is, who runs the Census Bureau?  Insurance companies or Republicans?

Oh I forgot!  They're one in the same!

My Dear Right Winger Friends....

Right wingers need to wake up to reality.  Barack Obama will be your next President.  Not because of any one dream that he has or one statement he’s made or one speech he’s made; but because he is DIFFERENT and makes people rely on their aspirations, hopes and dreams instead of their fears like the Republican Party hopes they will.

People are simply tired of being afraid.  They are tired of having their privacy taken away.  They are tired of the executive branch acting as though it were a kingdom instead of working for the people.  They are tired of being lied to and they fear even more division and wars if a Republican takes control again next year.

I could sit here and bring all sorts of things to light about what John McCain has said or done in the past and what he’s saying today (flip flopping and as Mitt Romney says - he will say anything to become President), but it would be a waste of my time and yours.  You already know those things – you just choose to ignore them.

To those that say Barack Obama, because of his VP choice being Joe Biden, now thinks experience is more important than one's personal judgment.  Barack Obama has never said experience is MORE important then judgment and never will.  His VP choice will allow him to get things done.

Barack Obama will provide the vision, the plans, the ideas and good judgment (which he’s already done many times over) and Joe Biden, with his experience in the Senate, will help Obama  get those things accomplished.

Think about any large business.  A company has all sorts of experienced workers, but sometimes it helps to provide a new vision for the company.  Companies hire new CEO’s all the time to help direct a new course to build up their business.

That new CEO however will need the expertise of those current workers under him/her to get his/her vision accomplished.

The Republican Party should relish this sort of game plan.  They did it with George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.

Only this time, this team will work FOR the people, not themselves or their special friends.

Michelle Obama Grabs Your Inner Being

Michelle Obama will be famous in her own right.  Even if Barack Obama never reaches his goal of the Presidency, I strongly feel that Michelle will someday be in the history books.  She gives a speech that comes from the heart, mind and soul.  Her words capture you inner being and won't let go till she's decided to release you.

Thank you Michelle for telling us about your American Dream and family.

To Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann and Tom Brokaw, most of the time I agree with your evaluations of those that speak or who have made statements.  I must say this time, you were way off base.

While I can sympathize with your thoughts about a black family ever getting this far in politics; it’s the wrong time to discuss that.

This speech was about the American dream.  A man and a woman growing up in a middle income homes and striving to not only make themselves better but to help a few people on the way.  This speech was about a typical American family that with a lot of work and little luck, has reached a dream.

To CNN, this speech was more than a comment about Hillary Clinton.

This speech was not about the ‘race’ of the candidate and his family or how tall they are or how short they are.  It wasn’t about how Hillary made history.  It was about a family of four that is willing to give up a very precious part of their lives so that others may live a bit easier.

Please, can’t you give them the respect they deserve – at least for an evening?

Michelle Obama Will Be Famous Someday - even without Barack

Michelle Obama will be famous in her own right.  Even if Barack Obama never reaches his goal of the Presidency, I strongly feel that Michelle will someday be in the history books.  She can give a speech that comes from the heart, mind and soul.  Her words capture you inner being and won't let go till she's done speaking.

Thank you Michelle -- for telling your story, your American Dream.

A Special Movie about Hillary's Life before her Speech Tuesday???

I just found out that Hillary Clinton will be getting In addition to those three concessions (her speech, her husband's speech and a roll call with her name included) she was given in this weeks convention, Mrs Clinton negotiated the right to show a short film about her life that will air prior to her speech. Something that is a privilege normally reserved for nominees or special circumstances.

What else do they want?  How about letting Hillary stand on the stage with Obama the night he is named officially the nominee and she is given the right to say "I" hereby announce you the nominee -- even though I feel that I won?

Geez people!  Do you think for one minute that if the situation were reversed that Obama would have been given these privileges?  No Way!  Yet she and her supporters still aren't happy?

Who Plays Santa At Candidate's Home(s)

Yes folks, Christmas is just around the corner.  Santa's most likely got his elves working on new toys already and children are starting to come up with ways to be 'good' so that they may get what they wish for on Christmas day.

Thoughts of Christmas brought a few questions to my mind.

Who does the shopping for gifts in each of the political candidates homes?  Is it the wife, Michelle Obama or Cindy McCain?  Or do Barack Obama and John McCain do the shopping?  Perhaps Barack and Michelle go together to buy the gifts and perhaps John and Cindy go together too.

Do the candidates need to set aside (save) money they will spend each year on the kids and family?  Do they have limits to the amount they will spend?

Who makes the plans for the holiday dinners and gatherings?  Do they hold holiday parties?  Who handles those?  Are there specialty chefs involved?  Costumes and music?  How many guests can their home (s) hold?  Who watches the children while the party is held?  Are there security guards involved?  Are special invitatons created and mailed out?  Who does that?  Who cleans up after the party or dinner?

Who hires the most assistants to do all of the above?

Last but not least -- who puts up the Christmas tree every year?  And if they own more than one home, is a tree put up at each?  Who plays Santa?

Wouldn't you just love to hear the answers to these questions?

I'm taking bets as to which candidate did the most of these things.

Where Did the Straight Talk Express Go?

I'm not a commercial artist but if I were I'd be making a campaign ad that said and did the following:

A quote by Spencer Johnson, “Integrity is telling myself the truth. And honesty is telling the truth to other people.”

Show video of McCain flip flopping on his support for George W. Bush.

Show video of McCain flip flopping on tax cuts for the wealthy.

Show video of McCain flip flopping on immigration.

Show video of McCain flip flopping on our staying in Iraq for 100 years then his withdraw plan by 2013.

Show video of McCain saying NO to a draft, they YES to one.

Show video of McCain flip flopping on running an honorable campaign then his ad on ‘celebrities’.

Then Show video of McCain saying he wants to campaign on issues not character attacks.

Senator John McCain is losing his integrity because he’s not willing to tell the truth to himself or the American people – instead of running that campaign on the issues, he’s running his with character attacks.

Show the words made by McCain's campaign advisor saying that Barack Obama was a good man and a patriot.

What’s happened to John McCain?

Where did the “Straight Talk Express” go?
