Congress, Gays and Abortion Attacks Won't Work this Time -GOP

The Republicans are trying to use the low approval ratings of Democrats in Congress, gay issues and abortion for political gain again this election cycle.

I think it's important to remind folks that having a majority of ONE with at least one Independent spying on the Dem's plans (Lieberman), with a Republican president who promises to veto any bill he doesn't like - makes it extremely difficult to solve ANY problem.

I could also remind you that Democrats continue to have a much better approval rating in Congress then do the Republicans currently serving there.

As for using the abortion and gay rights argument (he's pro-choice or a baby killer and marriage is between a man and a woman), Republicans had the majority in congress for 12 years, they had a conservative supreme court during those years and a well liked Republican president for at least 10 of those years -- what was their problem?  Why didn't they kill the Roe vs Wade law?  Why didn't they pass a constitutional amendment making it a law that marriage is between a man and a woman?

It's simple folks.  If they killed those laws -- they'd have no platform to run on in the next election cycle.

Republican Party Memories....

The REPUBLICAN congressional years 1994 - 2006 (and 2000-2008 President Bush years) will be remembered for all they've accomplished...

Seven year war in Afghanistan, 5 year war in Iraq with close to 660 billion dollars spent, part of which we now owe China to pay for them.

North Korea, Iran and now Russia, are all greater powers then before the GOP took control of government. Pakistan with nukes is about to lose their (U.S. picked) leader. China is now listed as having the most manufacturing companies in the world.

Our food and toys are either poisoned or lead filled.

We’re told that even though our attorney general’s office committed crimes by picking justices by looking at their political views, they won’t be charged with a crime because, “Not every wrong, or even every violation of the law, is a crime,” says Attorney General Michael.

Our privacy has forever been invaded.

Abortion (Roe vs Wade) is still legal even though President Bush had control of Congress and a conservative Supreme Court.

A CIA operatives name was leaked to the media by Bush’s right hand men - with his and Cheney’s permission – yet after promising to fire anyone that leaked the info, those persons remain free.

It’s now been proven that American’s were manipulated into going to war with a country that had nothing to do with 9/11.

We’ll remember the famous Abu Ghraib abuse photos and that we didn’t torture prisoners, then later we’re told, we did…but only three times.

New Orleans victims are still waiting for -safe- housing from Fema after the Katrina hurricane.

The new Homeland Defense dept is now building it’s on central intelligence office – outside of CIA.

President Bush has written over 200 special executive orders, overriding bills he’s signed into law – so that he can avoid obeying those new laws.

We’ve had the worst housing crisis in America’s history. Millions of jobs are lost and the country is in a recession. The rich got richer while middle class was forgotten. Oil companies made record breaking profits. Gas prices more than tripled and natural gas prices shoot up sky high.

Last but not least, we’ll always remember being attacked by terrorists on 9/11 – (Bush had been in charge for 8 months – intelligence was warning his administration for at least 3 and a half of those months - of imminent danger) and when told, how our president took 7 minutes to finally get up and attend to the business of our nation instead of sitting in a class room full of children telling stories. We’ll remember finding out later that the Bush administration was warned in August’s NIE about people planning to use planes hit buildings with and that Osama Bin Laden was aiming to attack the U.S… President Bush just sat at his Texas ranch on vacation and did nothing about it.

President Bush says the terrorists hate Americans because of FREEDOM.

Osama Bin Laden is still FREE – Somehow I doubt he hates freedom.

Memories....

McCain and GOP Playing Politics with Georgia and Russia Conflict

The most likely reason for Senator John McCain to be so presumptuous by sending in 'his' crew of Senator Lindsey Graham and Senator Joe Lieberman to Georgia is that McCain, Bush, Cheney and the GOP made some sort of deal with Georgia's president in return for something else.  You can probably bet that within a few days after they speak to people over there, they'll announce a peace agreement settled with the help of John McCain's intervention.

Good for Political GAIN!

As I've said before, the GOP do NOTHING without a political motive behind it.

Hillary Got Obama to Bend to Her Demands - Shame on Him

Hillary Got Obama to Bend to Her Demands

I don’t know what Hillary Clinton has on Barack Obama, but she’s been able to convince him that her name should be on the Democratic Party’s nominee roll-call list.  It was announced this morning.

For the past month and a half, since she (note) ‘suspended’ her campaign, Hillary Clinton has claimed to be behind Barack Obama 100% for President of U.S...  She’s been campaigning along side Obama at fundraisers and she’s been asking her supporters to support Obama.

Meanwhile, her husband Bill Clinton, has been purposely avoiding Obama, not bothering to campaign for him and he’s been expressing, half hearted enthusiasm for Obama’s candidacy, saying something recently during an interview like, “nobody’s ever really ready to be president when asked if he felt Obama was ready to lead.”, even though four years ago when asked this same question of Kerry, he enthusiastically said yes.

Elsewhere we’re hearing about memos and emails that were passed along during Hillary’s campaign – all about ways to attack Obama (which her supporters ‘denied’ was being done).

Hillary’s camp has been denying she will have her name on the roll call, now we are told it will be.  We were told Hillary would be the keynote speaker on Tuesday night, now we’re told it will be Mark Warner.  What does that mean?  Is Obama also giving her the VP slot?

Will we be seeing a switch-a-roo the night the roll call is done?  Will Hillary’s delegates that came over to Obama in June reverse their course?  Will some of the Obama delegates also switch their votes?  What have the Clintons been doing behind Barack Obama’s back?  Are they now planning a coup?  I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if they were – would you be – honestly?

I voted for Bill Clinton twice and would have again – but not now.  I’ve now learned that some of the attacks made against the Clintons by Republicans in the 90s, were most likely to be true.

Even if Barack Obama still ends up getting officially named the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee – how are voters to respond in November?  If Democrat’s delegates are confused about which one they prefer, Obama or Hillary – how will the common voter in America know who to pick?  If Democrats aren’t ‘sure’ about Obama, why should ‘they’ be?

This election is no longer about America and Democrats trying to repair the damage Republicans have caused her.  It’s all about fixing Bill Clinton’s legacy and making Hillary Clinton famous and possibly president one day.

I don’t know what they have on Obama, but I’m ashamed ‘them’ for thinking of themselves first instead of their country, and I’m ashamed of him for caving to their demands.

Women of Valor Event -- WWII Women Vets

I helped to create a website for two gentlemen that held a Women of Valor event at their university in Illinois.  They were able to gather up 6 ladies from their area that were WWII veterans.

One of the ladies is my mother.

The two gentlemen are looking for other women that served our nation and that are still alive.  They are going to try and add to the small group to get more stories out there.

Do Religious Right Remember What McCain Called them in 2000?

I wonder if the religious right remember Senator John McCain's words back during his Presidential 2000 campaign?

REPUBLICAN presidential candidate Senator John McCain (R., Ariz.) on February 28 lashed out at the "self-appointed" leaders of the Religious Right, calling them "agents of intolerance" and comparing them to Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton, the brash New York civil rights leader. On February 29 he lashed out again, accusing evangelical figures Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell of wielding "an evil influence" over the Republican Party. He later apologized for the latter remark...

While campaigning in California on February 29, according to the New York Times, McCain told reporters that it was part of his job "to stand up and take on the forces of evil,... and I can't steer the Republican Party if those two individuals have the influence that they have on the party today."

Just thought I'd remind them what he felt about them back then.....

Democratic Convention -- Missing an Important Voice?

The headline speakers for the Democratic Convention include Michelle Obama on Monday, Senator Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, former President Bill Clinton and Senator Barack Obama's VP nominee will speak on Wed and Barack Obama is speaking on Thursday.

There is one person I don't see that I sincerely hope the Democrats ask to not only attend but to speak.  That is the former Vice President AL Gore.

This man deserves to be HEARD.  He's been a major voice that gave Democrats the backbone to speak up against President Bush and VP Cheney's neo-con policies.  He was speaking against their policies long before anyone else had the guts to out of fear of being called 'un-patriotic'.

If he is suppose to speak - please forgive me.  It's not being reported, if so.

Bush and Putin Helping McCain -- Pre-Planned?

Here's a conspiracy to discuss.

Is it possible that Vladimir Putin is working with President George W Bush and Senator John McCain with this Georgia conflict -- to some how make sure that McCain is elected in November -- in exchange for something in return?

Keep in mind that Putin is still in power even though he's not Russia's leader now -- president Dmitry Medvedev has been reported as just being a front man for Putin.

Putin is threatening all sorts of things with respects to Iran, Iraq and North Korea.  Perhaps Bush has promised him something if he caused enough conflict to give rise to McCain's candidacy, showing him as an experienced leader.  Remember.....

When President George W Bush first met Vladimir Putin of Russia he called him a good man, that he was able to get a sense of his soul...

He's an honest, straightforward man who loves his country. He loves his family. We share a lot of values. I view him as a remarkable leader. I believe his leadership will serve Russia well. Russia and America have the opportunity to accomplish much together; we should seize it.

I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straightforward and trustworthy. We had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul; a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country. And I appreciated so very much the frank dialogue. There was no kind of diplomatic chit-chat, trying to throw each other off balance. There was a straightforward dialogue. And that's the beginning of a very constructive relationship. I wouldn't have invited him to my ranch if I didn't trust him.

Time for Newspapers to Reverse Course

Newspapers across America are slowly but surely becoming extinct.  They are basically reporting ‘old’ news.  Once in a blue moon you will read something that’s not been seen on the Internet already; but it’s rare.

Perhaps it’s time for newspapers to reverse course.

Perhaps they should become the "Net Police."

They can become what the Net has been to them - for the past 10 years.

For several years now, the Internet has been a way for people to get their opinions and more facts out about what was being reported in newspapers and on television.  Perhaps it's time to reverse course?

Instead of newspapers trying to compete with the instantaneous information highway (Internet), they should do their readers, Internet and television viewers a favor and ‘fact check’ what is being reported on the Net and on television.

While these stories they investigate and report the facts on may be printed a day or two late, they will in the long run, be the final place for readers to go – for the truth.

America has no problems?

I don't have the interview but did anybody else see the interview by NBC Sports' Bob Costas of President Bush today?

Did you hear the question from Bob about the problems the America has......?

Bush says something like, "First off, America doesn't have any problems..."

Where is this man's BRAINS?

If anybody has a copy of this interview PLEASE broadcast/post it.

Bush is grinning from one ear to the other, even during serious questions like China's human rights issues, Russia's attacking of Georgia, etc..

He's living high on the hog these days.  He acts like a man that's being released from prison after spending 8 years there for murdering someone.  He's completely ignoring the fact that a human being is 'dead' because of his act (Two wars, a U.S. recession and the world doesn't trust us anymore).

Clintons vs Obama = McCain.......AGAIN

This latest story out about Mark Penn’s suggestions to Hillary Clinton during her primary campaign to be reported in The Atlantic soon is just one more way, in my humble opinion, for the Clintons to help Senator John McCain beat Senator Barack Obama in November and help shore up blame in their own campaign.

The magazine reports Penn suggested getting much rougher with Obama in a memo on March 30, after her crucial wins in Texas and Ohio: "Does anyone believe that it is possible to win the nomination without, over these next two months, raising all these issues on him? ... Won’t a single tape of [the Reverend Jeremiah] Wright going off on America with Obama sitting there be a game ender?"

Penn, the presidential campaign’s chief strategist, wrote in a memo to Clinton excerpted in the article:  "I cannot imagine America electing a president during a time of war who is not at his center fundamentally American in his thinking and in his values."

As you can see, the talking point is, “Is he American/patriotic enough?”

The Penn memo suggesting that the campaign target Obama’s “lack of American roots” said in part: “All of these articles about his boyhood in Indonesia and his life in Hawaii are geared towards showing his background is diverse, multicultural and putting that in a new light.

“Save it for 2050. ... Every speech should contain the line you were born in the middle of America American to the middle class in the middle of the last century. And talk about the basic bargain as about the deeply American values you grew up with, learned as a child and that drive you today. Values of fairness, compassion, responsibility, giving back

“Let’s explicitly own ‘American’ in our programs, the speeches and the values. He doesn’t. Make this a new American Century, the American Strategic Energy Fund. Let’s use our logo to make some flags we can give out. Let’s add flag symbols to the backgrounds.”
Earlier this week in an interview President Clinton couldn’t be bothered to say that Barack Obama is prepared enough to be President.

A video on the internet of Hillary, is reported to have her saying something like ‘her’ supports should be heard at the convention, implying she’s demanding that her name be in the roll call.

My being a great fan of the Clintons during Bill Clinton’s presidency and for many years afterward makes it even more difficult to read comments like this.  Seeing how they ran their campaign against Barack Obama, and a fellow American and fellow Democrat and now this latest article -- it is just heart breaking

Once this report is made public, Senator John McCain’s camp, I’m sure, will use these words made by the Clinton camp by showing them in commercials saying something like, “Even President Clinton and Hillary think Obama’s not patriotic or American enough to run our nation.

All we Obama supports can hope for is that the voters ‘see through’ these lies, once and for all.

Pray that they see what’s going on, that these accusations made against Barack Obama are what they are – just political maneuvering and the attempt to brainwash the American people – once again.

Pray that after seeing how George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove lie to us over the past eight years, attempting to brainwash us into believing their ‘talking points’ and their ‘point of views’, that American’s will finally see the ‘light’.

Barack Obama is the ‘change’ that we all need.  Say “Enough to lying and political posturingYES WE CAN.
