Week of May 25, 2008 - May 31, 2008

ATTENTION: Super Delegates (especially Elected Officials)

It's time to make public your choice for the Democratic Presidential nominee!

All but 3 States have voted.  You know who your State voted for.  You have no more excuses.  It's time to announce who you will support for President this fall.

Today is especially important because just 41 of you could put Barack Obama over the top of the current DNC rules count of 2026.

He would have the ability to say, "I have followed the rules from day one.  I have reached the DNC's goal of 2026 delegates needed to win this nomination."

You would be giving Obama unbelievable leverage going into tomorrow's DNC Rules and Bylaws committee meeting.

You would be giving him the right of way of making the final decision on what to do with Florida and Michigan delegates.

America's Democrats, Independents and some Republicans have made their decision - they chose Barack Obama -- and so should YOU!

So my fellow elected super delegates, have a little pow- wow today, then go out and stand on the steps in front of the Congressional building and announce that you as a group are supporting the man 'America has chosen', Barack Obama - do it TODAY!

Why Hasn't Bush Walked on the Streets of Baghdad - If As McCain Reports - the surge has worked?

MSNBC: Chuck Todd, Mark Murray, and Domenico Montanaro report the following:

Boxing Obama in on Iraq? Lost yesterday in the frenzy over Scott McClellan's new book was McCain's blistering attack on Obama over the fact that the Illinois senator hasn’t been to Iraq since 2006. Indeed, the RNC even released an online clock counting the days since Obama last visited the Middle East country. Then later in the day, the New York Times reported that Obama is considering a trip to Iraq; his campaign, in fact, has been discussing such a trip for weeks. Has McCain boxed Obama in on this issue -- because if he does actually go to Iraq, will it look like McCain’s idea?......

President Bush has only visited Iraq in HIDING.  He goes to our military bases.  He's never walked downtown Baghdad like John McCain and others have.

Question:  If Iraq is doing 'so well' as McCain and others claim, why hasn't the President visited in the open and with prior notice that he is coming?

Question: If Bush feels he can GOVERN the Iraq war from the White House - without BEING THERE IN IRAQ - why shouldn't Obama feel the same way?

Question: If Obama were to meet the generals in charge of Iraq -- would they be allowed to speak FREELY - or will Obama just hear the Administration's talking points?

They're All Criminals -- Except for the President of Course

Has anybody else noted how when one of the Bush administration past employees writes a book, that everybody -- but the President -- is the bad guy?

In Scott McClellan's book he attacks Karl Rove and Scooter Libby, Condi Rice, barely touches Vice President Cheney; but when he talked about the President we'd hear, "these people didn't serve the President well.

McClellan issues this disclaimer about Bush: "I do not believe he or his White House deliberately or consciously sought to deceive the American people."

With respects to the war in Iraq McClella writes the president was "insulated from the reality of events on the ground and consequently began falling into the trap of believing his own spin."

McClellan made it clear in his book he retains great affection for the president.

When Colin Powell wrote his book after resigning from his position as Secretary of State -- he too attack the Bush administration but not President Bush.

When Treasurey secretary Paul O'Neill resigned, he too had unkind words for the administration but not the President.  As did Lawrence Lindsey.

You would think from listening to these men that the President stayed in the Oval Office sat behind his desk just smiling for the past 8 years.  They would have us believe the President had nothing what so ever to do with the war in Iraq, the CIA leak, the torturing of prisoners, the invading of our privacy by tapping our phone lines and internet, the firing of judges or generals that didn't agree with his policies.  It was all the president's men -- it was their fault things went badly.

Either the President is a dumb son-of-a-gun that was used for public relations only or somebody's deliberately trying to change history into being 'kinder' to President Bush.

Polls Say Hillary Does Better than Obama? Of Couse They Do - Would you Pick an Unknown?

If you were making a movie and you needed a lead actor and your choices were, George Clooney or Jay Smith – who would you hire?

George Clooney of course – he’s very well known.  Who is Jay Smith?

Believe it or not folks, more than half of country has no idea who Barack Obama is.

Most voters don’t watch the political talk shows on television; they don’t watch boring debates or read the paper much.  Most don’t even participate in the Dem/Repub primaries.  They decide who to vote for during the General election at the very last minute when they show up at the voting booth.

Just because people pick Hillary Clinton or John McCain over Barack Obama when asked a question on a phone survey (if they had to vote today for a President who would it be?) – That doesn’t mean they prefer ‘them’ over Obama.  That is ludicrous.

Hillary Clinton has been in the political environment for 35 years, she was our First Lady for gosh sakes.  John McCain has run for president before and he too has been in politics for a very long time.  Anyone that’s ever voted before knows who they are.  On the other hand, they do not yet know Barack Obama.

It’s pathetic that Hillary Clinton wants to claim that voters ‘prefer her’ over Barack Obama.  It’s sad that she is convincing her supporters that because she won a state’s Democratic primary, therefore she’ll also win the state during the general election.  History proves her wrong.

The DNC rules use the delegate count as a way of deciding who wins – not the popular vote.  Think about it folks – how would you include the states that have caucuses like Iowa, or both a primary and caucus, like Texas in that final total?

If the candidates were told from the beginning that it would be by popular vote, you can bet your sweet bippy they would have been living in states like California, Florida, Pennsylvania and Texas instead of traveling across the nation.

Hillary’s preparing for an Obama loss in November.

BILLINGS, MONT. -- During an evening rally in Montana’s largest city Tuesday night, Hillary Clinton explained to the crowd why she should be the Democratic Party’s nominee, but what ensued was a list of overstatements and exaggerations as she made her case. "You have to ask yourself, who is the stronger candidate? And based on every analysis, of every bit of research and every poll that has been taken and every state that a Democrat has to win, I am the stronger candidate against John McCain in the fall," she said.

What Hillary is doing here, is she’s getting her words ‘On Record’ that she ‘warned’ the Democrats back in May that ‘she’ would be the best candidate to go up against John McCain.

If Barack Obama doesn’t win in November, Hillary and Bill will be saying, “We Told You So!”

After Hillary concedes, in public you will most likely see Hillary and Bill supporting Obama; but behind the scenes I’m betting they will be trying to hurt Barack Obama’s chances in Nov.  Perhaps they’ll be the ones leaking information to the press/media?

If I were Barack Obama, I sure wouldn’t have any private conversations or plans discussed while these two are around.

To those of you who think Hillary and Bill would 'never' do such a thing -- remember this.  Hillary has planned on being President since Bill walked away from the White House back in 2001.  Barack Obama, a relatively unknown black man has 'stolen' (her thoughts) the nomination from her.  By all rights, SHE should be the one being nominated in August - not this black man (her thoughts).

As Geraldine Ferraro (a big supporter of Hillary's) stated, he's only where he's at --because he's black.

Are Hillary Supporters Advocating Other Dems to Vote for McCain?

Do Hillary and Bill Clinton agree with Marc Rubin's blog on the Tom in Paine website?

If super delegates corrupt the democratic process and send out a dishonest and dirty politician like Obama, one that the majority of Democrats voted against, the Democrats are assured of losing in November.

Super delegates have only one decision to make now. Do they want a Democrat in the White House come January or not. Because any vote for Obama is going to be a vote for John McCain. And in the fall.17 million Clinton voters are going to make sure of that. And no one can blame them.

I thought Hillary and Bill both said they would be behind Obama 100% and work their hearts out for him 'if' he should win this nomination?  Are they lying 'again'?

Are You Afraid Yet? You Will Be - They'll Make Sure You Are.

Intelligence and law enforcement sources tell ABC News they are expecting al Qaeda operatives will post a new video on the Internet in the next 24 hours, calling for what one source said is "jihadists to use biological, chemical and nuclear weapons to attack the West."

While there is no evidence of any direct threat, the FBI sent a bulletin to 18,000 law enforcement agencies across the country, out of an abundance of caution......

So far this year, four bin Laden tapes have surfaced.

-----------------------------------------------------------
So why are 'we' hearing about these tapes if there is no evidence of any direct threat?

Before 9/11, the FBI and U.S. intelligence community would review messages like this for any intelligence value and if any were found, they would report them to the authorities and the President.  American's for the most part never knew the danger.

After 9/11 however, that the Bush administration decided to 'use' these tapes as propaganda tools, especially during times they needed a media distraction or they needed to put 'fear' in the minds of voters.

It appears from this latest announcement, the Bush administration and the GOP have decided to use these tactics again.

In this case they needed to get the story about President Bush's press secretary Scott McClellan and his book off the talk shows circuit where he accuses the administration of using propaganda to gain support for the war in Iraq.

I'm sure however, similar tactics will be used in the coming months to help get Senator John McCain elected in November.

Humor them; Show your fear.

Barack Obama Should Invite McCain to go on a Trip Across America

John McCain sharply criticized Democratic rival Barack Obama for not having been to Iraq since 2006, and said they should visit the war zone together.

"Look at what happened in the last two years since Senator Obama visited and declared the war lost," the GOP presidential nominee-in-waiting told The Associated Press in an interview, noting that the Illinois senator's last trip to Iraq came before the military buildup that is credited with curbing violence.

"He really has no experience or knowledge or judgment about the issue of Iraq and he has wanted to surrender for a long time," the Arizona senator added.
"If there was any other issue before the American people, and you hadn't had anything to do with it in a couple of years, I think the American people would judge that very harshly."

Perhaps Barack Obama should challenge John McCain to travel across America with him to see what’s been happening to his fellow citizens and our vets over the past 8 years.

Obama should offer to take McCain to visit Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida.  He should introduce McCain to those folks that have lost their jobs because of NAFTA and are now living in poverty.  Let McCain meet some homeowners that lost their homes because of subprime mortgage interest rates going sky high.

Obama should introduce him to those folks that have lost everything because they couldn’t pay high medical bills.

Introduce McCain to that single mother working two jobs just to put a roof over her children’s heads.

As Obama and McCain travel across country, they should stop at the local gas stations to buy gas.  Stop at the local market and buy some groceries.  Let him talk to the trucker that’s close to bankruptsy because he can’t meet his bills for the high price of gasoline.  Allow McCain to travel over the pot holes in our highways.

Obama should take Senator McCain to some emergency rooms across the nation.  Let him see how long a person has to wait to be examined.  Let McCain see the paper work that needs to be filled out just to see a doctor.

McCain should also visit some local grade schools.  Let him see the crumbling school buildings.

Last but not least, Obama should take McCain to military bases across our nation that have substandard living conditions for our soldiers.  Leaking roofs, toliets that don’t work and mold growing on the walls.

Senator McCain said it himself awhile back.  He doesn’t understand economics.  Perhaps if he were to simply look at how our nation’s economy is hurting  – he’d understand why American’s are fed up with spending billions of dollars over in Iraq.

Senator McCain’s priorities lay with the Iraqi’s.  Senator Obama’s concerns lay with the American people.

Senator McCain -- Listen to your own words;

"If there was any other issue before the American people, and you hadn't had anything to do with it in a couple of years, I think the American people would judge that very harshly."

When Will Media Stop Listening to Talking Points from Clintons and Rove?

Why is it when Barack Obama mentioned something about the media during that one debate, he was accused of being a whiner; but when Bill Clinton and Hillary complain about the media -- the media immediately tries to 'correct' itself or it's actions?

Bill says the media has been unfair to Hillary -- now the media is claiming Hillary actually has a chance of winning this nomination.

Hillary says Florida and Michigan MUST count and now the media's pushing the same words.

Sounds like the Clintons have as much power over the media and Karl Rove did.  Give them talking points and they will REPEAT THEM for you.

When will the media do their OWN WORK by getting the FACTS and REPORTING THEM?

Uncork The Pressure Delegates - Let Some of that Steam (hatred) Out

One sure way to honor those that sacrificed their lives for our freedom today, is for uncommitted delegates to show a little bravery of their own by announcing who they will vote for in August now.

There’s been enough hiding in the ditch while hatred is being spread across our great nation while Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton try to prove who is best suited to win this nomination.

The Democratic Party needs to come to grips with what is happening.  Spend one day on the internet, read what bloggers are saying to one another, read what they are calling one another.  Visit a local bar and see the fights that erupt over one or the other candidates.

We keep hearing the leadership saying things will calm down and Democrats will united come this Fall.  They are running this process as though it were just like any other in the past….when it clearly is not.

Never before have we had younger generation and blacks’ vs. white women and senior’s campaign.  A civil war if you will.  Millions of voters stand between these two groups, voting on the merit of the candidate, while these two groups are fighting for what they call the “It’s Our Turn” attitude.

The battle ground has been moved to Florida now.  This state experienced a great loss back in 2000.  They continue to harbor extreme bitter feelings over what happen back then.

There’s one candidate down there that is picking at those wounds hoping to stir up the pot once again.  She’s trying to get them angry enough that they’ll never vote for the other person, no matter what he promises them.

The Democratic Leadership are risking the Party’s chances of winning in November by pretending they ‘know what’s best’ for us all.  Everything will come out in the wash, they say.  You couldn’t be more wrong my fellow democrat.

Just as the civil war hatred is still seen down in the South, so will this hatred between the younger generations and blacks VS the white women and seniors.  It will continue to be strong for many years to come.

The Party leadership allowed this to happen by believing the candidate that said, “We’ll come together in the end.”

While it’s too late to really flush that anger completely out, it’s not too late to start letting the steam out.  Uncork that pressure now by coming out and announcing who you will vote for in August.  Then start praying that you did so – in time.

Hillary is Wishing Apon A Star - Tell'm To Break a Leg

Once again it appears Hillary Clinton is being 'forgiven' for her 'mispoken words'.

This past Friday she said that she was staying in this race because 'things happen' in June, such as Bobby Kennedy getting shot during his campaign.

Those in the media jumped on the 'hurt' she may have caused the Kennedy's and American's by bringing those awful thoughts to mind once again.

I think the true story is that fact she's admitting that her ONLY CHANCE of winning this Democratic nomination is if something 'terrible' happens to Barack Obama.

She's got no other way of convincing Super Delegates or uncommitted delegates that 'she' is the one they should vote for.  That's the REAL story here.

Do American's really want to nominate a candidate that got where she is by 'wishing apon a star'; wishing that something bad happens so that she can be the winner.

It reminds me of those movies where the dancer prays the lead dancer breaks his or her leg so that they might become the lead dancer.  Or that the lead movie actor loses their voice so that they can take the lead.

While they may not have met the 'qualifications' (in Hillary's case -- the Delegate count) they still feel that if they are just 'given a chance at it' they'd become a star.

Some in the media like Politico, are criticizing fellow media for making such a 'big' story out of nothing.  It's beginning to sound like folks are 'forgiving Hillary' once again.

This is sad, because if she were anybody else running in this nomination process, she would have been forced out a month ago.  Hillary is grasping at straws for a win all because the media and her supporters keep 'feeding' her 'stardom' words -- tell'm to break a leg.
